About You: Barbara has completed 10 Ironman triathlons, 50 marathons and countless Pickleball games which she shares with her wife, Maureen. She also cares for a 13 year old rescued Boston Terrier. Work Experience: Barbara has been a Nurse for 40 years, Family Nurse Practitioner for 25 years and a Doctor of nursing for 17 years. She retired from a level 1 trauma center in NY where she worked in Orthopedic trauma. She has been a burn nurse, High Risk L&D Assistant head nurse and a Flight Nurse. She has taught at the Bachelors and Masters level at Pace University. She has published multiple articles, journals and research articles. She is a 28 year veteran member of NY2's Federal Disaster Team and has helped at 911 , Hurricane Katrina and most recently Covid-19 which took her to all of the US hot spots including the cruise ships from Wuhan, the unaccompanied minor at the Texas border and ran the largest vaccine mission in Oakland CA. Fun Fact: Barbara joined Home Instead three years ago during Covid-19, when snow birding to FL, first as a care-pro then a Nurse once licensed by the state of Fl.
