Steve Harkness

Steve Harkness

Business Development Advisor

I was born and raised in rural, central Indiana and attended Indiana Wesleyan College for my business degree. My mother was a Registered Nurse, and she started a home care company in the 1970's in the very early years of providing home care as a business. I began working for our family business in the 1980's answering phones and gradually moved up to Director of Operations. Our business grew to cover several counties in Central Indiana providing both skilled and unskilled services. After we sold our family business in 2001, I moved to Florida and worked various positions in healthcare, from consulting for midsize healthcare companies to creating and implementing a readmission reductions program for all Tampa-Area Baycare hospitals. I am thrilled now to be on board with Home Instead as a Business Development Advisor, returning to my roots of keeping people in their homes where they thrive.
