RN, CEO/Franchise Owner

Jim worked as a registered nurse for more than 30 years in critical care, organ donation, transplantation and executive leadership. He realized, through his nursing career and caring for his mom, the tremendous need for in-home care. That's what brought him to his mission with Home Instead Senior Care. When he's not working, Jim enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. He also volunteers for an organization that helps to support foster youth.

Cherisse Cruz

Staffing Coordinator

​Cherisse is the Staffing Coordinator. She has over 25 years of experience working as a caregiver and joined the Home Instead family in 2008 and was instantly connected to the mission and culture of the organization. Cherisse is responsible for hiring, screening, training, and providing ongoing support to CAREGivers. She takes pride in recruiting and hiring the best CAREGivers to serve our seniors. Her compassion and direction are an invaluable resource for the team she leads and the CAREGivers she supports. Cherisse's love for seniors began early on when she cared for a friends Grandmother, and it was then when she realized how rewarding it was to be able to help others. In 2017 she transitioned from being a caregiver and joined the office team as the staffing coordinator. She now uses her previous skills to inspire others to find a passion for serving seniors. In her spare time, Cherisse loves to spend time with her son. She also enjoys listening to music, weekend get aways with her family & friends, watching sports, and going to LA Dodger Games.

Mark Garrido

Client Care Coordinator

Mark has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the Philippines and has worked in Home Health Care for more than 5 years. Mark started working in Home Care Services July 2020 and entered this field because he wanted to help seniors in the community and have a positive impact by making a difference providing care that is professional, ethical, and personalized. Mark enjoys walking his dog Dimitri and taking care of his many fish. He also enjoys hiking and loves to barbeque.

Vanessa Torres

Vanessa Torres

Vanessa joined Home Instead in 2023 as the Lead Caregiver and has extensive knowledge of senior care as she has over 5 years of caregiving experience. Prior to Home Instead, Vanessa was a lead care manager at a senior living community. While she enjoyed her time there, she wanted to continue her passion by providing quality care for seniors and support to the caregivers, and she is very happy that she transitioned to in home care. Vanessa loves helping others and in particular helping seniors and making a difference in our community. She highly believes in being compassionate and patient with others to achieve her goals. During Vanessa's spare time she loves visiting amusement parks, watching movies and trying new and different foods. She also loves spending time with her family, cooking and playing with her 3 dogs.
