Home Instead provided caregivers to our loved one during the last week of his life. Our experience was exceptional.
Bryanna scheduled meet and greet times for each caregiver and followed through with regular updates on scheduling. Irish visited to answer questions and to assure that our loved one was 100% satisfied with his caregivers. But what made our experience exceptional was the two caregivers who spent the days and evenings with our loved one. We cannot say enough about the terrific communication and care skills of Guadalupe (Lupe) and Shawntana (Tanya). These two women reached our loved one with smiles; always getting right in his face so that he would hear, calling him by name, asking his preferences before providing care and doing all kinds of little things to bond with him, make him feel safe and cared for. These women filled our loved one's final week with peace and comfort and for this we will always be grateful.

She coordinated a complementary in home consultation with Sahar. From the start, the process was organized and informative. Home Instead has been a lifesaver for us. I called over 40 different agencies in the desert before choosing Home Instead. It was a great decision to go with them!
Adrienne, our scheduler, has been superb! She is attentive, kind, and professional, and is always looking out for our needs. Sandra has also been excellent and very sweet.
We specifically requested a strong male who had experience with total hip replacement surgery patients. We had the opportunity for a meet and greet with two employees prior to choosing Shaun.
Shaun Blumenthal, our healthcare aide, is spectacular!! He is very knowledgeable, upbeat, and happy. Shaun is also very kind, caring, and careful when taking care of Randy. Additionally, he is wonderful with our two dogs, who adore him! Last, and also very important, Shaun is exceedingly helpful around the house, both inside and out, performing all sorts of chores, constantly with a smile on his face.
We are so fortunate to have discovered Home Instead! We give Home Instead and these employees our highest recommendation!! They are the very best!!!

We have been with Home Instead for over three years, and throughout that time the staff and caregivers have supported both my aunt and me through many ups and downs. Because of their dedication, my aunt has been able to live a healthy, near-normal life independently in her own home.
Special thanks to Adrienne in scheduling, who has consistently kept us fully staffed with two shifts a day without interruption. She is prompt, patient, and professional. Thank you as well to Beverly in the finance department, who is knowledgeable and proficient.
I am also deeply grateful to the many caregivers who are truly deserving of that title and have been so kind and attentive to my aunt—especially Autumn, Silvia, Bertha, and Adriana, along with many others who have provided wonderful care over the years.

Home Instead has been an awesome partner in caring for my 90+ year old father with very significant needs. We started to migrate from having private caregivers to dealing exclusively with Home Instead in early 2025. They have done their job very well. We have high quality caregivers, we have immediate backup should any caregiver not be able to work a shift and we have a diverse pool of caregivers to pull from to try to find the best personal fit for my father. Overall we are very happy with Home Instead Palm Desert.

This is a first class, dependable, and caring organization. I had recent back surgery and my two out of town daughters were concerned for my recuperation. My experience with each individual has been exemplary. They have been very flexible and even received visit from a Quality Assurance Supervisor, Irish L, to make sure my specific needs were being tended to. I was so worried about having a stranger in my home and concerned how my spouse would adjust. It all seemed so complicated. I could not have been more wrong. They have been amazing. The hospital gave us no notice. They sent our loved one home in one day to hospice. Home Instead scrambled and had caregivers for us the same day. As our loved one has gotten closer to death they are even more on top of things. It was important for us to have our 2 favorite caregivers and they went out of their way to arrange that. We have used Home Instead for the last year and a half for my dad who passed away at the age of 92. We were very fortunate to be assigned Maria. She was an extraordinary caregiver/companion 5x weekly for my dad, who enjoyed her company so much. She was the kindest person, playing cards with dad, having engaging conversations, cooking him wonderful meals, and joking and teasing with him, keeping him in such a good mood. She was always attentive to his needs, and was such a valuable support when he declined. We are grateful for her work, and know that another family will soon benefit with her new assignment. I'm so thankful for the wonderful help that my mother (who has dementia) has been receiving from Johanna at Home Instead! I've been using their services for about a month now and I can honestly say I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from me. Johanna is so prompt, caring, patient, kind, helpful and willing to do whatever I ask of her to help my mom stay in her home as long as possible. She is also very good communicating with me about any issues or requests my mother has on a daily basis. My mother is not receptive to going into assisted living because she can't take her little dog but with Johanna's help she is able to continue to live at home. Johanna has been a God send to our family and I'm so happy that we found her at Home Instead.

My sister, who has Parkinson’s, fell and broke her collarbone. She couldn’t be left alone. I called Home Instead, with whom she already had a caregiver 4 hours a day. They arranged care for her shortly after she got home from the emergency room. Her regular caregivers Irene, Cindy, and Jennifer have all been great. The agency has been responsive and efficient. I tremendously appreciate their care.

Overall our experience with Home Instead was quite positive. We appreciated that they tried to have consistent people as our father's caregivers. Adrienne in scheduling was very pleasant and helpful. The majority of our caregivers were excellent and gave our 96 year old father great care. We had an excellent caregiver Monday - Friday during the day. Her name is Suechada, she treated our father like family. A couple of the night caregivers didn't appear to be prepared for the level of care our father needed, but when we brought this to Adrienne's attention she was responsive to our concerns. If caregiving were to be needed in the future I would call Home Instead again.

I would like to say that Home Instead is a wonderful place. I was looking for a caregiver for my father. He was discharged from the hospital and I was caring for him for a few days on last minute notice. I became tired and needed help for overnight. I was searching and didn’t think an agency could help me for the night since they needed more time but I called Home Instead and met Christina. I explained to her my situation she was so sweet and told me not to worry she would try her best to have someone for the night. She did it and on the same day. She saved me! She is Professional and has great customer service. Nice to have meet her she is the best. My caregiver is a great caregiver. She does everything I ask her to do. She is always reminding me to drink water, which I like. The good think about Irish is that he always comes by to see how I’m doing and if I’m satisfied. He cares about his clients. The scheduling team is good. They have always sent me good people. I have to acknowledge two incredible caregivers who I feel are the best of the Palm Desert staff. Maria Valenzuela and Julio Ortiz ! They are so focused, outgoing, humble, knowledgeable and caring that I sometimes feel like they have been with us for years. My husband is so happy to see them come as they make sure Ken he is there top priority and wants to make sure he is attentive, active and happy. They take him to the grocery store (which he loves) and the hardware store to get things to fix a few things around the house. Both of them are always smiling, telling jokes (which makes my husband laugh) and sharing stories to entertain him. Our lives are so much better having them come to be part of his day. Thank you Home Instead, especially Byranna!!!

My sister and I interviewed three companies, and we selected Home Instead because their quality assurance director Irish listened to my needs and agreed to offer me what I needed as far as personal assistance and hours. I happen to be a person who is blind and my main goals are independence and learning my way around. Home Instead has matched me with a companion caregiver that is perfect. Darlene is open in assisting me with whatever I need including taking me for outings that are for the purpose of conversation and friendship. She helps me with using technology, paying bills, and preparing lunch. She is conscientious and resourceful. The Palm Desert office staff Gabby and Chloe are accommodating to my needs, flexible with hours, and answer their phones quickly. I highly recommend this company to anyone. I’m thankful for Home Instead Senior Care for sending Amy to be the caregiver for my husband Jim Keeran. She is always taking care of him for the 8 hours that she’s here. She baths and dresses him, cleans up his mess and the spills he makes and serves his meals. She also does laundry and don’t have to be told to do the tasks. I’m so proud she is here and I don’t have to train a new caregiver everytime. Thank you Home Instead for your services and your great caregivers.

Christina Carrillo, Client Care Director came to visit us as we need alot of help bringing Mom and Dad home to live with us in these crazy times.
Her knowledge, understanding, contacts, guidance and ability to relate to our different personalities is priceless.

Couldn't be more pleased. Dedicated, caring caregivers are helping my mother to recover from major surgery - eating right, exercising, doctor's appointments - all important things that I cannot do from 3, 000 miles away. Thank you Home Instead Senior Care and your wonderful caregivers!
I wrote the above review a year ago or more, but I don't think it posted. I only have more positive things to say after another year+ of Home Instead caregiver services for my mother. I recently talked to Trevia at Home Instead, who was checking on the quality of care provided. I got choked up telling Treiva how wonderful the caregivers are and how they make my mother's life so much better. The care they provide is truly touching.
Just before Christmas 2021, my mother had to go into the hospital. Renee and Miguel, and others worked with me to cancel shifts. And when my mother was suddently discharged from the hospital, Miguel, Cloe, Gloria, Liz and others worked quickly to arrange coverage. This was no easy feat,, as my mother came home in a weakened condition and needed more help with additional shifts - and it was Christmas week. Home Instead came thru. Her caregivers Experenza and Monique really stepped up to provide the additional care Mom needed, even on Christmas Day. Christmas Angels!
Earlier this month I was in California, as my mother needed surgery. I finally got to meet Mom's two main caregivers in person, Esperenza and Monique. Esperenza came to the hospital to visit, which really madey mother so happy. And Monique has helped with all the additional medical appointments and continued changes in medications. Once again we needed more shifts until Mom recovered from surgery and Team Home Instead was there to help arrange additional shifts.
Monique and Esperenza are both great at encouraging Mom to take walks and do her exercises. We are truly blessed to have these amazing people, helping Mom to stay safely in her own home. My mother's neighbors have even commented on how wonderful the caregivers are to my mother - very caring individuals. We cannot thank Rob and his Home Instead team enough.

"I echo “ Happy Wanderer’s” sentiments regarding Home Instead Senior Care. I recently saw your new review and felt the need to jump on board and echo his statement. I met David and Claudia back in the last spring/summer of 2020. They were the main caregivers for my neighbor out in Shadow Hills, Indio. They looked after my neighbor flawlessly and with care. I’m a retired physician and must say how impressed I was with the both of them & their professionalism, which says a lot about the company and the caregivers this company hires. I will utilize their service someday or refer anyone to them, if I can get caregivers like those two."

At no time in our conversation did I feel like she was trying to convince me to choose to hire her caregivers; on the contrary— she solely focused on understanding mon mom’s unique needs— and helping me to sort out how to best meet them. "2 and a half years ago when I first reached out to Home Instead, we weren't sure my parents would be able to remain in their home much longer. Today, my dad can walk again without falling and both parents can perform daily tasks with minimal assistance. Our caregiver, the amazing Esther Rocha, taught us all how to make life simpler, safer and happier. Irish from QC has won my mom over. He is genuinely concerned about the relationship between caregiver and client and always looking for ways to make things even better. A refreshing change for me in the area of senior care where I have often seen a business model that focuses on the bottom line and there is limited communication between client and management until there is a problem. It is good to know that management puts their people first. That is a winning arrangement for all parties."

"I brought my husband home 26 months ago from a facility that was supposed to be one of the best ones around here. After less than a month I was very sure, if I did not get him back home right away, he would die there very soon. Tim had a hip operation and he has never learned how to walk again. I knew nothing about his care and I knew I needed help and then learn fast how to be a caregiver for him. From the beginning my husband needed 24/7 care and financially, I had to work vast majority of these hours. His current caregiver was the first the Home Instead sent to us. My husband reacted positively to him from the beginning and I did not want anybody else to take care of him. In these two+ years, we both have learned a lot how to take care of my husband, especially the need for more care has been growing. His caregiver, Rouel, has always been willing to learn, help and do as much as he could. He has been a very good caregiver for Tim. I always laugh that he treats my husband like a very expensive car; he washes him carefully and well, put lotion on him and makes sure, Tim looks his best. We constantly need to adjust to changing situations. Tim’s bed faces the door and when Rouel opens it, Tim smiles. They go for a morning walks and in evenings they exercise. Tim slowly looses his abilities but Rouel and I are always there to pick up whatever help Tim needs. I like listening to their interactions When my husband came home 26 months ago, he was angry, anxious, full of fear (especially at nights) but after several weeks of being cared by Rouel and me, he lost that. Rouel is also very patient with Tim. I give this company five stars for having a caregiver like Rouel. He has never been late or missed a day. Also, the Finance Department is very accommodating. They call me and ask, if they can collect the payment and if I need a day or two, they wait. They have time for me if I have any question. All people in the office, I have been in contact with, are really nice and helpful if I need something. It has been a very positive experience for me and also for my husband, who seems to be very content with the care he receives. Rouel treats my husband as a loved relative with warm care and personal attention. I believe Tim around us feels valued and appreciated. I like listening to their interactions like singing and laughing. And our floor has never been so clean; Rouel washes it constantly :-).

The hospital provided a list but it had too many options I called a few agencies but felt very comfortable with the representative so I agreed for a free consultation. "I had extreme needs for both my aging parents simultaneously. Home Instead staff were compassionate and empathetic to the stress I was under and helpful to assess the needs of both my parents and myself. The administrative and caregiving staff were professional, accommodating, and very, very caring, becoming like family that I really needed around me during a time of grief and overwhelming priorities. "We have used Home Instead for caregiving to my sister who lives in a retirement community in independent living. She has had a care giver for a couple times a week for over a year and we have been pleased with the care that was given to her. Recently she has had health concerns and we needed to step up her care to someone all day for most days. Christina at Home Instead did an excellent job of filling all the days with two caregivers who again are excellent at the care they give. "What an amazing organization! If I could give Home Instead 6 stars I would.
My 89 yr old mother is a fussy person, I'm just being honest! I didn't think I'd ever be able to find her a suitable caregiver 'match' ! But Home Instead found a perfect match when they sent her Esther. Esther is warm, caring, compassionate and professional. She puts my mother at ease which is not always easy! Esther encourages my mother to bathe, walk and do her PT exercises. She chats with both my parents and wins them over with her easy manner and quick laugh.
My siblings and I live far away and are so grateful to Home Instead for putting our minds at ease.
Communication with Elizabeth for scheduling matters and responding to my (many) questions is always prompt and easy.

"I have 75 year old parents who live alone. I called around to just about every home care agency in the valley, and finally came to Home Instead! I am so glad that they were able to help me! From the first call I felt welcomed and that what I needed was important! Nathan was excellent and listened to everything I said, and made me feel safe and understood - assuring me Home Instead was going to be able to take care of my parents. I feel like he genuinely cared for my parents well-being. Christina came out the same day to assess my parents care needs, made recommendations and we settled on a care plan and schedule after the visit. Elizabeth and Shivani have provided updates on scheduling as needed and continue to keep me informed and my parents well cared for. Overall, this office has great customer service and follow through and I recommend them to anyone needing that personalized touch."

"The caregiver works the hours/days he says he will work and is always on time. If there are any areas of concern regarding our family member, the caregiver always contacts us. The agency was able to provide a caregiver very quickly when we needed one and the caregiver has worked out extremely well."

"My mother’s private caregiver had a family emergency and had to leave town, My mother is on Hospice and cannot be left alone. From the beginning I knew I called the right place. I was able to have a consultation within hours of placing my call. Christina came out to my home and did a fantastic job explaining the agreement and went over any questions I had. We were able to get a caregiver out the same day. The scheduling team has really worked hard to make sure my mom gets what she needs. I've called many times to switch the time on my Mother's schedules due to my job and I am always met with a friendly upbeat representative. All their caregivers are vetted too! Palm Desert Home Instead is the only agency I would recommend to my family and friends."

"Palm Desert Home Instead senior care was one of three agencies we met with. After meeting with the consultant, we were confident that Home Instead was the choice for us. The caregiver they sent out was the perfect match for my grandmothers needs. I truly believe that with the help of Home Instead, my grandmother was able to make a full recovery. The reason we chose Home Instead was: the other agencies I met with required a set amount of hours minimum per week, this was not the case with Home Instead, we were able to add more when she needed it and reduce the hours when she was feeling better. My family will always choose Home Instead."

"Home Instead has literally been the biggest blessing! My sweet 88-yr Daddy has adv late-stage Alzheimer’s. He and my mom are on limited social security and with Covid, my 76-yr old mom and I have been providing 24/7 caregiving. From our first call, the staff has exceeded our expectations in their level of care and coordination with Hospice! From our initial call to Renee to our in-home sit down with Christina Carrillo to even the company President! We are forever and eternally grateful that they are helping us prepare for the inevitable. Alzheimer’s is a horrendously ugly and terrible long goodbye but we have had several miracles along the way and Home Instead is at the top of the list!!!"

"Communicating with the office was easy and efficient. They listened well, so establishing the type of care I needed was great. I needed someone to transport me to and from a medical treatment, and briefly look after me after that treatment. The person who helped me was pleasant, efficient, patient, and prompt. He listened and understood what I needed. I could not imagine him doing a better job. I would strongly recommend Home Instead based on this experience. Even this statement does not fully express my satisfaction for the excellence of care that I received."

"My mother has a caretaker from Home Instead Senior Care. It's OK. There are things that we requested that are not being done, but the caregiver is very sweet and she tries. Meal prep sometimes isn't done, but she may be following orders from my mom. I need them to call me or my brother first if they feel that my mom isn't making the correct judgment, but it seems to be working out pretty well. The agency contacts us when they have a question."
