Waiver Client Care Advisor

The Medicaid Client Care Advisor (MCCA) is responsible for coordinating services and supporting clients receiving Medicaid-funded home care services in the Arkansas Medicaid Program, VA funded home care, etc. This role ensures clients are properly assessed, enrolled, and supported while maintaining compliance with Arkansas Medicaid and VA regulations. The MCCA serves as the primary liaison between clients, families, nurses, Medicaid programs, and community resources.
Key Responsibilities
Medicaid & SSI Program Support
Respond to and manage SSI inquiries for potential and current clients.
Coordinate with the RN to ensure submission of Form 618 for eligibility and service authorization.
Conduct Medicaid Client Care Advisor consults with prospective clients and families.
Coordinate Start of Care for approved SSI clients, ensuring services begin smoothly and documentation is completed.
ARChoices Program Coordination
Manage ARChoices inquiries from prospective clients and referral sources.
Submit ARChoices applications and required documentation.
Follow up with the state and referral sources regarding application status as needed.
Coordinate RN nurse assessment at Start of Care.
Conduct quarterly client phone calls to monitor satisfaction and service needs.
Coordinate and track six-month reassessments to ensure continued eligibility and quality of care.
Veterans (VA) Program Support
Serve as the initial contact for VA program inquiries.
Identify appropriate programs and refer veterans to the correct resource, including:
VA Community Care
VA Aid and Attendance
Coordinate Start of Care nurse assessment for approved VA clients.
Track and coordinate RN six-month evaluations for ongoing care.
Targeted Case Management (TCM)
Oversee Targeted Case Management coordination for eligible clients.
Ensure services are documented and compliant with program guidelines.
Prepare and submit TCM invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Maintain full compliance with Arkansas Medicaid state regulations and program requirements.
Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
Monitor client files to ensure required assessments, calls, and evaluations are completed.
Support quality assurance initiatives and assist with audits as needed.
Client Care & Communication
Serve as a primary contact for clients and families regarding services and program questions.
Maintain regular communication with nurses, caregivers, and internal staff.
Ensure clients receive safe, reliable, and high-quality home care services.
Address concerns and escalate issues to leadership when necessary.
Qualifications
Experience in home care, Medicaid programs, healthcare coordination, or social services preferred.
Knowledge of Arkansas Medicaid programs such as ARChoices and SSI preferred.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Excellent communication and client service skills.
Ability to manage multiple clients and program requirements simultaneously.
