Roy Wu - Co-Owner

Roy Wu - Co-Owner

Roy was born in Maryland and grew up in the Washington, DC area. He received his undergraduate degree in Communications and his Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration. Roy’s career includes working in various sectors –  Philanthropy, Education, and Health Care – all he feels has prepared him for owning and running a Home Instead Senior Care franchise. Roy and Paula enjoy spending time with their kids and are active in their church. His all-time favorite movie is Rudy.


Paula Wu - Co-Owner

Paula Wu - Co-Owner

Paula attended undergraduate school in a city they now service through their Home Instead Senior Care office—Walla Walla, Washington. She moved to Loma Linda, California, finished her Master of Physical Therapy degree and began her career as a Physical Therapist in the acute rehabilitation unit of the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Fontana, California. While she didn't know it at the time, Paula was gaining invaluable insights into the need for the continuation of quality care once her patients returned to their homes. This outside perspective of the very real and personal inner needs of those seeking the kind of care Home Instead Senior Care provides is just one of the ways in which Paula brings a superior level of homecare to seniors.


Donna Hutzelman - Operations Manager

Donna Hutzelman - Operations Manager

​Donna began working for Home Instead Senior Care as our Operations Manager in May of 2019. She is responsible for directing and coordinating all activities in order to develop and grow the franchise. Donna recognized the need for quality care for seniors and she chose to join an organization that provides that care for our community. Outside of work, Donna enjoys water and snow skiing, snowmobiling, and travelling. She's been married for 26 years and has three demanding cats.


Karen Harris - Client Care Coordinator

Karen Harris - Client Care Coordinator
Karen began in August of 2016 as a CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care, then shortly thereafter, she became a Client Care Coordinator in October of 2016. She works full-time speaking with, meeting, and signing up potential new clients, introducing CAREGivers to clients, and following up with quarterly quality assurance visits with clients. She also works with CAREGivers from time to time and helps with many other behind the scenes tasks. Karen loves meeting with potential clients, their families/friends, hearing their stories and connecting with them. Her own personal experience allows Karen to build great relationships with our clients and their families. During down time, Karen enjoys quilting, mowing the lawn, caring for her chickens, ponies, dogs, and cats, but most of all, she likes spending time with her husband Don and their blended families.

Sierra Shiplet - Client Care Coordinator

Sierra Shiplet - Client Care Coordinator

​Sierra started with Home Instead Senior Care in October of 2018 as a Client Care Coordinator. She speaks with and meets potential new clients, helps them through the sign-up process, introduces CAREGivers to clients, and follows up with quarterly quality assurance visits. Sierra is passionate about the senior care industry and really puts her heart into helping her clients. She loves connecting with clients and having the opportunity to advocate for them. Outside of work, Sierra spends her time furthering her education and spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She has two cats, named Lady Gaga and Frankie Sue, and a horse named Tiff. 


Eva Hannah - Office Coordinator

Eva Hannah - Office Coordinator

​Eva has been here at Home Instead Senior Care since November of 2016. As our Office Coordinator, she answers the phone, files, does inventory and various other tasks. Her goal is to be supportive of our clients, CAREGivers, and office staff. Chances are good that Eva's voice will be the one that greets you, either on the phone or should you grace us with your presence at the office. During down time Eva likes to visit new places and play Hand and Foot with her friends and family.


Paula Stegman - Billing & Payroll Specialist

Paula Stegman - Billing & Payroll Specialist

​Paula began working for Home Instead Senior Care in January of 2018. As our Billing and Payroll Specialist she helps with client invoicing, invoicing with the Veterans Administration and long-term care insurance, and CAREGiver payroll. She has worked with various aspects of billing for much of her adult life. Paula enjoys helping others and has three grown children, as well as three grandchildren. 


Nickie Kelso - HR Assistant

Nickie Kelso - HR Assistant

Nickie started with Home Instead Senior Care in October of 2018 as an HR Assistant. She helps manage the hiring process for new CAREGiver applicants, including background and reference checks, interviews, and training. She also enjoys helping to select well-rounded, high quality CAREGivers for our clients. Outside of work Nickie enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, gardening, and tending her chickens.​


Kimberly Gibson - CAREGiver Mentor

Kimberly Gibson - CAREGiver Mentor

​Kimberly started in October of 2017 as a CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care. In March of 2019 she transitioned into the role of CAREGiver Mentor. Kimberly assists Nickie with new hire paperwork and interviews. She also helps new CAREGivers by introducing them to clients and assisting with their Home Care Aide traininng. Kimberly loves caregiving and finds it exciting to help teach our new CAREGivers how to be great at caregiving. She also serves as a mentor that both new and experienced CAREGivers can confide in. Kimberly has three children and a wonderful husband, along with two Maine Coon cats and two dogs.


Wendy Hughes - CAREGiver Retention and Weekend Coordinator

Wendy Hughes - CAREGiver Retention and Weekend Coordinator

Wendy started at Home Instead Senior Care in August of 2017. She helps to train, engage, and work to retain a staff of  CAREGivers in order to provide the highest quality of service to clients.  She also provides assistance to our clients and CAREGivers over the weekend when the office is closed and does a great job supporting our CAREGivers as they work to complete their Home Care Aide certification. Outside of work, Wendy enjoys spending time with her family and watching a good scary movie.


Rose Flores - CAREGiver Administrative Assistant

Rose Flores - CAREGiver Administrative Assistant

​After working as a CNA for over a decade, Rose started working for Home Instead Senior Care in April of 2018. As a CAREGiver Administrative Assistant, she works on scheduling, assisting with Human Resources, and answering phones, as well as working with our CAREGivers and evaluating the needs of our clients. Basically, a little bit of everything. Rose loves working with our amazing team to help find the right CAREGiver to take care of each client who deserves the best and most personal care. Rose is married and has three amazing, smart children. She loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking, floating, motorcycle riding, sky diving, and weekend trips. 


Kent Ferlan - Compliance Officer

Kent Ferlan - Compliance Officer

​Kent began as a CAREGiver for Home Instead Senior Care in April of 2016 and then became our Compliance Officer later in July of 2016. He is responsible for monitoring and updating CAREGiver files and quality assurance visits with clients. He ensures they are kept current and in compliance with both federal and state laws, as well as with Home Instead Senior Care standards & procedures. Believe it or not, Kent loves creating and working with Excel spreadsheets, and all the information he works with is kept on spreadsheets he has created.  Kent enjoys spending time with his wife and family, as well as his home and yard.


Brendan Dodge - Technology Coordinator

Brendan Dodge - Technology Coordinator

​Brendan has been working for Home Instead Senior Care since September of 2015. He works part-time as a Technology Coordinator, mostly behind the scenes, to help with the technology that keeps our office running and to send out our monthly CAREGiver Companion newsletter. Brendan enjoys finding solutions to problems with technology that end up making the jobs of our Key Players and CAREGivers easier and more effective. When he gets a rare break from work and supervising his two children, Brendan enjoys hiking and riding his bike.
