Athena is our Director of Human Resources with 12 years of experience in nonprofit administration, marketing and communications, public relations, advocacy, event planning, program development, fundraising, and strategic planning. She was a Campus Recruiter for the Walt Disney Company, after working at Test Track in EPCOT. She is also a past-President of the UMass Dartmouth Alumni Association. Athena has a Masters Degree in Public Administration, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. She is a graduate of Leadership SouthCoast, and was awarded Top Young Professional Under 40 by the New England Business Bulletin. Athena is a New Bedford native, who now resides in Plymouth with her husband Gregory and her two children, Dominic and Sophia.
Cheralyn joined the Home Instead Senior Care team in September 2012. She is responsible for billing and payroll. Previously she worked at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston doing billing and collections. She lives in Taunton with her husband and two children.
Samia is our newest Client Care Manager. She began her career as a CAREGiver with Home Instead in May 2014 and became Office Coordinator in October 2015. Samia has multiple years of healthcare and business ownership experience. She lives in Dartmouth with her husband Jamie and her sons Adam, Elias, and Josh. She is also a volunteer Bristol County deputy sheriff.
Jonelle joined the Home Instead team in January 2015 as a Home Care Liaison. She has 8 years of experience working in the hospice field, and was previously a Patient Liaison for Guardian Hospice & Palliative Care. Jonelle has spent the last decade doing what she loves - caring for seniors. In her free time she is a world traveler, beach lover and self proclaimed "foodie".
Sandra joined the Home Instead team as our second CAREGiver in May 2007. She is now the CAREGiver Educator where she trains new CAREGivers on general caregiving techniques as well as Alzheimer's and Other Dementias, and Hospice & Palliative Care. This is a perfect fit for Sandra since she was a teacher for 35 years before joining Home Instead. Sandra lives in Lakeville with her husband and especially loves spending time with her granddaughter.
Jackie Bates joined Home Instead in September 2008. With over 20 years of experience in Human Resources, she is responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training our new CAREGivers. She also maintains State and Federal compliance regulations. Jackie has 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
Gloria joined the Home Instead Senior Care team in May 2016 as a Scheduling Coordinator. She recently transitioned into her new role as the Recruitment Assistant where she is responsible for conducting interviews with applicants. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering in town government, advocating for our clean local environment, and teaching Faith Formation to children and teens.
Erica joined Home Instead in September 2015 as the Weekend On-Call Scheduling Coordinator. With over 15 years of experience working in the healtcare field, Erica is now our Director, Client Care Services responsible for managing the Client Care Managers and conducting visits in the community to ensure we are providing quality care to all of our clients.
Bonnie joined the Home Instead team in July 2014 after working in Consumer Affairs at Hasbro, Inc. for more than 28 years. She began her career at Home Instead as Office Coordinator, then moved into the Scheduling Coordinator role. She is now our CAREGiver Liaison. Bonnie fondly remembers spending time with her dear grandmother at the family summer home in Maine. She has 2 children and lives in Berkley with her husband Michael, their 4 dogs and 2 cats. In her spare time, Bonnie enjoys cooking, travel, reading and photography.
Nancy started as a CAREGiver in 2009 after working 33 years for the local phone company. She joined the office staff in August 2010 as a receptionist/scheduler then worked as a Client Care Coordinator and Receptionist. She now works as the Human Resources Administrative Assistant. She cares for her mother and enjoys working with the elderly. She is the mother of three and grandmother of five.
Nichole joined the Home Instead Senior Care team as a CAREGiver in September 2015. She was promoted to a Scheduling Coordinator in April 2017. She is a recent graduate from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 cats and a dog, reading, crocheting, hiking and sitting by the fire in the summer.
Andrea joined the Home Instead Senior Care North Dartmouth team in January 2017 as a Scheduling Coordinator. Prior to taking some time off to raise her family, Andrea previously worked in customer service and a personal finance company.
Carol McDermott started with Home Instead Senior Care in July 2012 as a CAREGiver then transitioned into Weeknight On-Call. She has worked in the medical field with Dialysis patients for the last 12 years. Carol took care of her mother who had dementia and has participated in fundraising effors for both cancer and kidney disease. Carol has a 20 year old son.
