For a senior loved one living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, research supports the importance of engagement in enhancing quality of life. Providing them with meaningful activities that are of interest and within their capabilities, as well as opportunities for socialization with others can diminish stress and their cognitive and behavioral symptoms. Join us to learn the top 50 ways to engage a senior with memory impairment, and learn how to provide that mental and emotional stimulation that your loved one needs.

SPEAKER: Marjorie Hilkert, Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Trainer
Marjorie Hilkert is a passionate advocate for people with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and their caregivers. Inspired by her experience caring for her father who was diagnosed with the disease in 2002, Marjorie has worked tirelessly to train and educate the community in all aspects Alzheimer’s and dementia. She is a trainer with Home Instead Senior Care; speaker for the Alzheimer’s Associates’ Southeastern Virginia Chapter; past Chairman of the Williamsburg Walk to End Alzheimer’s disease; member of the Peninsula Alzheimer’s Leadership Council; and certified art facilitator and trainer for the Memories in the Making Creative Art Program.
