our family in December of 2018. While she is a newer member of our team,
she is certainly no stranger to caregiving, having worked in both home health
and hospice care in former roles.
Julie has such a
quiet grace about the way she approaches her care. Despite being
assigned a client who was difficult both physically and emotionally, she
continued to start and end each visit with a smile on her face. She is
reliable, honest and always arrives on time, prepared to give her clients
100% of her efforts. She identifies risks in the home, and when
calling the office with concerns, she is always positive, and truly centered on
her client's best interest and finding a solution to help them. Her
clients appreciate her joyful disposition and work ethic. We are proud to
call Julie a Home Instead CAREGiver! Please give her a big
"high-five" the next time you see Julie at a training session!
Bob and Janet jointly own the Home Instead office based in
Waukee & Ames. Their office opened
in 2002 and has served the needs of Seniors in Dallas, Story, Boone, Warren,
and Madison counties. Janet is a
Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree from Methodist College of Nursing in
Omaha, Nebraska. Bob has a business
background with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy from the University of Nebraska
Their commitment to the people they serve is evident
through their community outreach and strong desire to obtain the highest
quality CAREgivers and staff. They are active in their children’s
schools, Communities, Chamber of Commerce, and participate in many Community Betterment
projects every year. Bob also sits on a
National Advocacy team that regularly speaks to our Legislators in D.C. regarding
access to care for seniors in Iowa.
Their mission is to Professionally and Compassionately help
people craft their own vision of aging. Through
this mission they continue to positively impact the lives of hundreds
of families in Central Iowa by giving them the ability to stay independent
and safe in their own homes.
Amy's primary role is to ensure that Home Instead Senior Care's clients are satisfied with the service being provided, and is a valuable link to the families of these clients. She believes that everyone should have an opportunity to enjoy the freedom of aging at home. Because of her extremely close relationship with her grandmother, she recognizes the value of adding to someone's quality of life and appreciates the way companionship nourishes the spirit.
Katie has a BS in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from
Iowa State University. She began her
career in geriatrics in 2006 as the Service Coordinator here at Home Instead
Senior Care, inspired by the innovation that non-medical home care has
contributed to the long term care community.
Passionate about helping older adults continue to thrive at
home, Katie took an immediate interest in supporting and coaching our
tremendous CAREGiving staff and was promoted to Staff Manager in 2010. Helping CAREGivers cultivate their skills
which allow them to do their part in allowing people to age in place is a very
rewarding part of this role for Katie.
Her role enables her to recruit and hand select the best candidates
available to help Home Instead clients reach their individual aging goals. Additionally, she provides them with ongoing
education that give them the tools they need to be successful.
If you’re considering a career helping people craft their
own version of aging, schedule time to meet with Katie! She enjoys helping others understand the
value of home care, and how a career in this industry can create so many
meaningful relationships and rewarding experiences. She believes that when the perfect
client/CAREGiver match is made, not only does the client get to enjoy aging at
home, the CAREGiver gets to enjoy the satisfaction that comes from sharing your
heart with others. It is truly a
Tiffany's primary role is to manage the weekly schedules of Home Instead Senior Care's clients and CAREGivers. She also acts as a valuable communicator with the families we serve. Tiffany enjoys knowing that people are safe and happy in their own homes, and she likes knowing that her job plays a small role in ensuring that safety and independence occurs every day.
I came to Home
Instead after working in Long Term Care for 8 years. After graduating from Iowa
State University with my degree in Psychology and Sociology, I began my career
as a Social Worker in dementia care at the Madrid Home. I obtained my
Nursing Home Administrator's license in 2011 and worked as the Assistant
Administrator and Director of Social Services for the Madrid Home
until 2015. Most recently, I worked as the Nursing Home
Administrator for Bethany Life. I am thrilled to be joining the HISC
team and learn another facet of service delivery. I am passionate
about finding care solutions in the ever-changing landscape of healthcare.
I am a central
Iowa native and live in Ames with my husband Tom, and two kids Tommy and
Teagan. In my free time I enjoy cooking, running, yoga, reading, being
outdoors, Iowa State Athletics, and Chicago Cubs baseball.
Carri has experience in a variety of settings within the
healthcare field, including work as a pharmacy and hospital tech as well as an
FSA specialist at Principal Insurance Group.
Carri was inspired to join our team in 2014 by her grandmother whom she
lost to Alzheimer’s disease. Due to this
experience, Carri is motivated to support the needs of both our clients and
caregivers to do her part in helping those with cognitive loss and other
chronic conditions maintain a full, happy life at home.
Carri keeps the administrative office running smoothly by
managing the billing requirements of Medicaid and private Long Term Care
insurance. She also acts as a
supplementary service coordinator when needed and is always here to offer a
listening ear whenever a client or caregiver have a concern they need to
share. Helping others makes Carri’s
