CAREGiver Trainer - Assistant

Job Details

DESCRIPTION

Supporting all franchise locations, the CAREGiver Trainer - Assistant conducts training and development programs to improve individual and organizational performance. This role partners with all staff members to analyze training needs for program development.  As the face of Home Instead, this team member must demonstrate our core value, Love (v.), in all interactions with internal and external customers and staff:  patience, kindness, humility, selflessness, respectfulness, forgiveness, honesty and commitment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers
  • Deliver CAREGiver training
    • Conduct CAREGiver orientation and conduct train-the-trainer sessions to ensure a ‘back-up’ is trained for both offices
    • Schedule and conduct CAREGiver in-services
    • Schedule and conduct CARE Alzheimer’s Disease class (8-hours)
    • Partner with the leadership to determine in-service content, content updates, etc.
  • Offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills
  • Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures
  • Obtain, organize, or develop training procedure manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials
  • Participate in the preparation of processes, best practices, course content, etc. based on feedback from sessions
  • All other duties as assigned

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years as a CAREGiver and or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2 years training experience in a professional setting
  • Proven application of learning strategies appropriate for different audiences
  • Ability to actively and effectively listen to others
  • Strong working knowledge of software, website and social media applications
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly establish rapport and build relationships
  • Proven creative and strategic thinker and problem solver
  • Must possess a positive attitude
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • To be a qualified driver you must possess a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and auto insurance on the vehicle being used. 
  • Must be insurable and bondable throughout employment to provide transportation on behalf of and to transport clients.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check, DMV check and drug screen
  • Ability to work independently without supervision in a safe manner always
  • Willingness to drive to all client locations in the specified service areas
  • The person must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs.

 

SUPERVISORY

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the described responsibilities of the position.
  • While performing the responsibilities of the position
    1. This person will need to move from their vehicle to the inside of the client’s home, residence or work location.  The person needs to safely move continuously inside a client’s home or residential facility.
    2. Spend time bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, standing, making repetitive motions, walking, using your hands to control or feel objects.
    3. The person will use hands/fingers to handle, feel and operate normal household equipment like a vacuum, laundry machine, microwave, oven and other standard household items.
    4. The person may need to ascend/descend by stairs and may be required to stoop, kneel, twist, crouch or crawl.
    5. The person frequently communicates with clients and must be able to exchange accurate information consistently throughout a shift.
    6. The position is required to see and detect items throughout the house.  In addition, they will need to identify, recognize, judge and observe throughout their shift.
    7. The person may assist client in moving, transporting, transferring and positioning the client. 
    8. The person may be required to perform personal cares and assistance during personal care may be required based on the needs of the client.
    9. The person must have the ability to withstand exposure to various living environments, including minor exposure to dust, mold, mildew and normal household cleaning solutions.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • This job operates in an office and simulated client’s residence and local field setting. This role routinely uses standard household items and basic office equipment.  Indoors, environmentally controlled.
  • Responsible for Others' Health and Safety
  • Use of cellular phones and or similar technological items is required.
  • Wear Common Protective or Safety Equipment such as Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, or other PPE.
  • Travel may be required up to 100%
