We provide non-medical caregiver services which support seniors to live in their own homes in the central Vancouver area.  Our services include:

  • Companionship - provide conversation and stimulating activities
  • Light housekeeping
  • Meal Preparation
  • Accompanying elders to activities and appointments
  • Assistance with walking and mobility support
  • Personal Care
  • Dementia Care
  • Overnight and weekend care
Our ideal CAREGiver candidate:
  • Has a flexible schedule and is available to work a minimum of two days per week up to full time
    • shifts are available days, evenings and nights
  • Enjoys working with the elderly
  • Has a caring heart and patience
  • Speaks and understands English fluently
  • Has a cell phone and is comfortable with text and/or email
  • Caregiver experience is desirable but not required; training will be provided to all new employees

CAREGiver in Vancouver with BC Driver's License and Car

Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care Vancouver is looking for CAREGivers in Vancouver with big hearts to become a part of our team of CAREgivers.  By providing a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion, we improve the quality of life of many seniors in our Vancouver community!   

We are currently in need of CAREGivers who have a valid BC driver's license, car and insurance - a mileage allowance is provided for transportation of our clients during shifts to cover related costs.   

Part Time to Full Time shifts available

Must be able to work Days, Evenings, Overnights and Weekends (or a mixture of both), ability to work on Sundays preferred

KEY DUTIES:

  • Provide Companionship, Home Helper and Personal Care services which may include***
    • Engaging with clients in conversation and activities 
    • Housekeeping tasks, laundry
    • Meal preparation, clean up
    • Medication and appointment reminders
    • Accompanying clients to activities and appointments
    • Assistance with walking and stabilization
    • Assisting with personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting)
    • Specialized care: Alzheimer's/Dementia care, Hospice Care

Home Instead Senior Care is looking for a caring and compassionate CAREGiver with Alzheimer's/Dementia experience to join our client's team.   Our company provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.
 
Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Companionship and conversation
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
  • Medication and appointment reminders
  • Assistance with grooming and bathing
  • Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
  • Alzheimer’s Care

Our ideal CAREGiver candidate:
  • Has experience with caring for Alzheimer's and/or dementia clients
  • Has the ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
  • Communicates with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Has a caring heart, patience and confidence
  • Speaks clear, fluent English

There are all different types of clients and all have different needs! As a CAREGiver, you provide a variety of in home care services that allow seniors to remain in their homes or wherever they call home.

 

  • Companionship (escorting to doctor’s appointments, activities, going for a walk etc.)
  • Household duties (light housekeeping, laundry etc.)
  • Cooking and Meal Preparation
  • Personal Care (bathing, toileting, dressing etc.)
  • Specialized Care (Alzheimer’s, Dementia, cognitive impairments, palliative care)
  • Overnight Care

 

Eligible Applicants:

  1. Must be able to travel within our territory - Boundary Rd in East Van over to UBC area and down to 41st Ave. Excludes surrounding areas: Downtown, South Van, North Van, Burnaby.
  2. Must be able to lift/push/pull 25 lbs.
  3. Must be fluent in English.
  4. Bonus if you have a driver's license and your own vehicle!

Senior Companion with Driver's License in Vancouver

Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care Vancouver is looking for a female companion with a big heart to become a part of our team!  By providing a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion, we improve the quality of life of many seniors in our Vancouver community!   

We are currently in need of a female companion who has a valid BC driver's license, car and insurance - a mileage allowance is provided for transportation of our clients during shifts to cover related costs.   

Must be able to work Tuesdays and Thursdays with a possibility of Mondays as well. The shifts are typically 10AM until 2PM.

This position would be ideal for a retiree or someone who is looking for a fulfilling part-time position. 

KEY DUTIES:

  • Companionship - Engaging with client in conversation and activities
  • Enriching the client's life 
  • Making a plan with the client about what activities you will do during shifts
  • Taking the client out to different venues, events, activities around Vancouver
    • client enjoys walks by the ocean, art galleries, museums, cafes 
  • Picking the client up, driving to activities, and dropping the client back off
    • client will need help in and out of the vehicle and sometimes needs a cane
