Today, many relationships are formed daily through
CAREGivers who provide home care help to clients and their families who desire assistance with activities that used to be simple. Tasks like grabbing a can of soup from the top shelf, opening the mail, reading a book, folding laundry, tying shoelaces or scrapbooking family history are not as easy as they used to be for many seniors.
Greg, father to Liam and Ava, and husband to Shelley, is well known in the field of home care, but his roots have simple beginnings as his earliest recollections of senior activism refer to a time when his mom was involved with charities like Meals on Wheels and encouraged him and his siblings to do the same. Today, his sits on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Home Care Association, has strong ties to the Alzheimer Society Peel (including partnership in the Caregiver ReCharge Program) and focusses the efforts of the Mississauga office on philanthropy, public education and community outreach. He is an author of the book Trusted Transitions, was presented the Advocacy Award by Home Instead Corporate for his tireless efforts, and since 2009 has driven Home Instead Mississauga to exceed the expectations of over 1000 seniors and their families, by striving for service excellence.

Tom’s natural aptitude for leadership has earned him an impressive track record of operational success as a change management & strategic leadership professional. From building and overhauling operational programs to driving cultural business transformation initiatives through his hands-on approach to leadership, Tom fosters a culture of collaboration, empowerment, accountability, employee engagement and customer satisfaction supported by his People, Process, Customer leadership philosophy. He states; “Joining the Home Instead team has been the highlight of my professional career. The opportunity to work with a team of dedicated, caring and focused individuals while being able to make each & every customer interaction a personal experience fills my heart with gratitude. Helping the seniors in our community and at the same, playing a vital part in changing the face of aging is an experience I can only describe as incredible”. Tom has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Liverpool and prior to joining Home Instead, successfully held various operational positions for both national and internationally recognized brands. Through a combination of client focused strategies, an overall determination for excellence whilst Tom’s strong track record developing high performance teams are key focus areas to ensure Home Instead continues to enhance the quality of life for seniors and their families.
Carol has joined our team as Managing Director after a lengthy career in the Food Safety and Healthcare industries. Carol’s directorial, management, and sales background has manifested in strong interpersonal and motivational skills, and her greatest joy is helping others while championing the products and services she stands behind.
As a mother of three children with severe food allergies, Carol has also spent years providing specialized care to her family and her community, by being a spokesperson for Anaphylaxis Canada, and by being the inventor behind a product designed to improve the use of the auto-injector for people with Anaphylaxis. Being a mompreneur allowed her to take her desire to help her family and turn it into a product that helped the allergy community at large.
Carol is ready to take her strong client-focused and care background and bring it to the senior community in her new role. She is very proud of what Home Instead is creating and is thrilled to be part of the team.
In his role, Dan Gallagher lets healthcare
professionals in the community know about Home Instead Senior Care services and helps families find immediate care in emergency situations.
He will responsible for connecting Home Instead Senior Care
in the Etobicoke and Mississauga communities. Dan was selected because of his keen
interest in seniors and his desire to help them maintain their independent
lifestyle. Dan will be out in the Etobicoke and Mississauga communities working with our
community partners presenting our public education programs and sharing
how Home Instead can help seniors and their families. Dan will also be
involved in the community supporting non profit and other organizations
that serve seniors.
grew up in the Mississauga and is grateful to now be able support his
community. His career with Home Instead has given him the opportunity to
connect with the vast amount of resources that exist to family
caregivers and their senior loved ones, including those provided by Home
Instead Senior Care. He is a good listener and will do his best to
understand your unique needs and present you with only the very best of
options. His goal is return family caregivers to the role of spouses,
sons and daughters and seniors to higher quality of life, by ensuring
that your CAREGiver and solutions are "best-fit".
Since the age of 17, Shanyce has had a passion for working with older adults. She has always felt that there aren’t enough people advocating for them so she made it her duty to find herself a career that benefits older adults and enhances their quality of life. Shanyce has over 4 years of practicum and volunteer experience in the senior care field. She also has a strong customer service background having previously worked in retail in and the hospitality industry. Shanyce also has experience working in long-term care homes, retirement homes and assisted living homes. During her time there, she gained many skill, as she worked with social workers, activation-coordinators, personal support workers, and memory care workers. Shanyce holds a Social Service Work-Gerontology diploma from Sheridan College. She is excited at the prospect of assisting older adults live comfortably in their home with the assistance of Home Instead Senior Care CAREGivers.
You could say that caregiving is in Samantha’s blood, because her mom is Registered Nurse and Samantha has always been interested in working with seniors. Samantha graduated from Humber College’s Paralegal Education Program and has spent several years working in administrative and customer service roles. The Service Coordinator position is a perfect fit for her as she enjoys interacting with people, taking the lead and solving problems. She endeavors to build strong relationships with families and provide them with solutions to their caregiving needs. She has the same feeling towards our CAREGivers, and will ensure that she builds trust, takes the lead and shares her heart with each and every one of them.
Daniela has dedicated her life to work to welfare and health of the community. She has several years of experience in the medical field. Previously, she worked as a Nutritionist in her native country of Venezuela, where she had the opportunity to work closely with seniors. She built strong relationships with these clients and their families in order to improve their quality of life. She feels very proud of being a part of the Mississauga Home instead team as a ReCharge Service Coordinator so she can ese her wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure the highest standard of care.
Mikaela recognizes the importance of providing quality services to seniors and to their families. She utilizes her strong background in customer service and her education to ensure that our clients receive reliable and consistent care. She also understands and makes it a priority to establish genuine and trustworthy relationships with clients and CAREGivers and assists them in making the best decisions. Mikaela is excited to learn and gain as much knowledge and experience at Home Instead to carry on for years to come. Currently, Mikaela is in her final year at York University, pursuing her degree in Sociology.
Connie first began her career caring for the vulnerable at Children's Aid Society of Peel. Her many experiences there taught her the value of trust and the importance of building relationships. After taking some time off to raise her family, she once again felt the call to care for individuals in the community, but this time with seniors at Home Instead as a CAREGiver. She found her time with seniors extremely rewarding and has now become the Client Care Coordinator. Connie brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience, having worked directly with many seniors, and is truly dedicated to enhancing the lives of others. She is excited to collaborate with you to ensure you receive the highest standard of care, quality and excellence.
Karen has worked in customer service for over 35 years. She chose to work in Senior Care because she is very passionate that everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect no matter what age they are. Karen likes to take on challenges and will do her best to get the job done properly. She takes pride in any job she does. I am a very compassionate and caring person with a bubbly fun personability. I am also a very trust worthy and honest person. And I am honoured to be working with such an amazing company and great co-workers.
As the On Call Coordinator Georgia brings her love for helping others to the role. She brings a lengthy background of over 25 years in Client Service and is committed to providing stellar service to both the clients and the Caregivers.
"Ever since I was a young girl I have always had a passion for working with seniors and the vulnerable in the community and I feel it is especially important to help those that are not fully capable of helping themselves".
Over the past few years I have had my own personal experiences with dealing with some of the many issues and challenges the elderly are faced with, which helps me to empathize and understand our Home Instead clients on a deeper level.
In my spare time I enjoy listening to music and spending quality time with my family and friends.
Since the young age of 18 Janet has worked in some capacity providing quality customer service. Her experiences stems from interacting with individuals from the food to the tourism industry. In every role she has demonstrated that she has great work ethics and goes the extra mile to ensure that the needs of customers are met and that each person I interact with takes with them the fact that I cares. She is an energetic well organized individual who is a firm believer in producing the best quality of work there is, and with over 20 years of experience in customer service she ready to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients.
As the Education Coordinator, Jennifer believes that the best way to
improve the quality of life for seniors receiving our care, is to ensure
that our CAREGivers and office staff, (as well as interested community
members), receive high quality, practical training on an ongoing basis.
Jennifer's prior work experience with Home Instead Senior Care is as a
CAREGiver and Client Care Coordinator. She has additional work
experience in rehabilitation and health education and achieved two
science related degrees (Physiotherapy and Kinesiology). Her work and
educational experience combine to make her an advocate and valuable
educational resource for seniors and the individuals caring for them.
As the Enterprise Administration Manager, Ramona recognizes the importance and value of providing high-quality services to our CAREGivers, our office employees and our clients. Her extensive experience as office manager and her background in accounting are serving her in managing the payroll, accounting, client invoicing and all other day to day office challenges here at Home Instead. Ramona loves multi-tasking and helping people. She is very excited to be part of the Home Instead Senior Care team because she gets to do what she loves. In her spare time, Ramona likes to get outside and spend time with her family.
Home Instead has been a god send for my family. My mother suffers from Parkinson's disease and dementia and this journey has been nothing but heartbreaking. Thank goodness for the staff at Home Instead. Keeping her at home and safe is our priority and clearly the team at Home Instead does too. We could not manage without them and have found Home Instead to be as important in my mother's care as we are. Thank you to all of you for helping us navigating these very difficult days.
