​Catherine spent 25 years in the project development of senior housing, assisted living, and skilled nursing care projects and was very excited to move to the personal side of the senior care business through the acquisition of the Marin County Home Instead Senior Care franchise with her husband, Todd, who’s prior career was in the automotive industry managing large departments, budgets, and staff.

Todd and Catherine had experienced first-hand the personal challenges and demands of dealing with a suddenly ailing father. He was hospitalized and then sent to a Geriatric Psych Unit for review. In a matter of days, she and her sisters were dealing with court processes, trying to understand his condition and find resources for his care. Ultimately, he stabilized and was able to return to his own home where they hired Home Instead Senior Care. It was such a relief for the sisters to have someone calling them weekly with updates on their father’s care and condition and knowing that their father was in good hands with Home Instead. As owners of their own Home Instead Senior Care franchise, Todd and Catherine are both engaged full time in the business and are committed to delivering the same quality care to their Marin clients that they expected for her father. As a team, they conduct initial client consultations, provide regular quality assurance visits with clients, stay abreast of industry news and events and oversee the day to day operations of the business.

Carol Levenson, RN, MS, Client Care and Education Coordinator

Carol Levenson, RN, MS, Client Care and Education Coordinator

​Carol has an extensive nursing career involving Emergency, Intensive Care, Home Health, Quality Management, and Hospice Nursing. She has taught nursing at the Universities of Pennsylvania and San Francisco. As an educator, complex information is presented in a manner that is easy to understand and apply. Carol has highly developed communication skills which foster unity and cooperation. Through personal experience, Carol has an immense capacity for compassion and understanding. Our staff, clients and families derive great benefit from her skillful insight and compassion.


Laura Pera, Client Care Coordinator

Laura Pera, Client Care Coordinator

​Laura Pera joined the Home Instead Senior Care team in 2014 attracted by the opportunity to help seniors and their families deal with the many challenges they face. As the Client Care Coordinator, she works with our clients to ensure that they receive the highest quality of care. Prior to the start of service, she meets with clients and their families to develop a personalized Care Plan. On an ongoing basis, she makes frequent quality assurance visits in the home to address any concerns or changes in conditions, as well as to support our staff in the delivery of care. Laura received a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara in Business. She has worked in sales and customer service and has a strong passion for helping people. That passion is evident when working with our clients.


Chantal Philipona, Client Care Coordinator

Chantal Philipona, Client Care Coordinator

​Chantal Philipona joined Home Instead in April 2018 after caring for her husband during his terminal illness. The experience of being a “family caregiver” gives her invaluable knowledge, empathy and understanding about the care needs and challenges of our clients.  She knows that her work as a Client Care Coordinator allows her to provide that essential link ensuring that the individual aging at home gets the help he or she needs and that the family has a primary person to call with concerns or requests for up to date information.  Chantal was born and raised in Switzerland where she was a teacher and counselor. Chantal, who speaks 4 languages, moved to New York in 1991 and worked in the Swiss and Liechenstein Embassies. Chantal loves to spend her free time playing women’s volleyball and exploring Marin where she has resided since 2000.  She lives in Novato with her two dogs. She is a beekeeper and raises chickens.


Riana Moore, Operations Supervisor

Riana Moore, Operations Supervisor

Riana Moore joined the Home Instead Team in May, 2015.  She is our Operations Supervisor and oversees and directs the activities of the Home Instead office.  She has a broad spectrum of responsibilities to ensure the smooth running of the office and addressing our clients needs.  With over thirty years' experience in the corporate field, she combines her business acumen with her compassion for our clients and staff to bring the best solution to any situation at hand.   Riana was initially a Home Instead caregiver and that experience allows her to understand the needs and methods to deliver the best quality of care to our wonderful seniors.  


Jackie Dragt, Staffing Coordinator

Jackie Dragt, Staffing Coordinator Jackie Dragt joined the Home Instead team in February 2017 as the Staffing Coordinator. Prior to joining our team, she completed a degree in communications from San Francisco State University. She also worked in social media, marketing & sales for various startup companies in San Francisco. After working in the tech industry Jackie was looking for a career change, she was hoping to work for a company that is making a difference in the community and would allow her to still be people oriented. 

In her spare time she enjoys being active in the bay area. Some of her favorite places include Stinson Beach, Sausalito and North Beach. 

Kylie Stoneham, Client Care Associate

Kylie Stoneham, Client Care Associate
Kylie Stoneham joined the Home Instead Senior Care team as a Client Care Associate February, 2017. With past experience in an assisted living home, Kylie comes to Home Instead with a great passion to assist the needs of seniors. She began going to school to pursue a degree in criminal justice but slowly began developing a stronger desire for geriatrics. That's when she found herself growing within the senior care industry. 

While alongside the Client Care Coordinator, Kylie is learning what it takes to be a proficient part of the care for elders. While working around the clock to introduce new caregivers to clients on their first assignments she holds an ongoing basis to ensure the care plan is being followed and any changes are being recorded and documented.  

Diana Barrera, On-Call Coordinator

Diana Barrera, On-Call Coordinator

Diana Barrera joined the Home Instead Senior Care team as a CAREGiver in December, 2013.  In addition to being a part-time CAREGiver, she is also our On-Call Supervisor during nights and weekends.  Diana is the staff you will reach if you have an emergency or need assistance after office hours.  

Diana has worked for a number of years for Marin County in their crisis support services. She knows well the challenges our seniors face as they age and struggle to remain independent. Diana has considerable compassion for the clients she has assisted at Home Instead and continuously seeks ways to make their lives a little better.  Diana lives in Novato and enjoys spending time with her family.
