I called my friend Linda the other day and, much to my surprise, she said, "I'm going to a dance from noon to 2 p.m.! Want to come?" I went and it was just around the corner from our office! The Center is located in West Catasauqua Park (near Hackman's) at 2301 Pine St., Whitehall. They have lots of activities for Senior Citizens including Tai Chi, Bingo, Card Games, Oldies Dances, Low Impact Aerobics, Strength Training, Historical Talks, Yoga and more. They are a Silver Sneakers Certified Center which is a program through some insurance companies that will pay for exercise classes. There's even hot lunches available at senior prices, and transportation to and from the center. One major advantage for seniors is having an active lifestyle center in their community is a focus on fitness. This helps us to stay healthy longer and to decrease risk of isolation and depression.
