  3. Honoring Our 2019 CAREGiver of the Year

Our CAREGiver of the Year is someone who has devoted her life to helping people in need from a young age. She gives an endless amount of care and compassion to everyone she encounters. Her commitment is to our highest standards for her clients, their families, and Home Instead. She is extremely flexible and forgiving and truly does whatever she can to help. When we asked this person why they joined the Home Instead team, they said this:

“I joined Home Instead because I wanted to make a difference in senior lives. I wanted to bring happiness into their lives, whether it was by helping them with laundry or small things like opening pickle jars when they couldn’t do so. “
She has always enjoyed being around seniors. At a young age she would volunteer at local nursing homes and sing songs and visit with the residents. She continued this through high school and would come and paint the senior’s fingernails and take them for walks. Later in life when she had children, she began to take them to nursing homes to show them how worthwhile it was to be able to sit and visit with the seniors. This CAREGiver can empathize and relate with clients because there was a time in her life when she wasn’t able to care for herself due to a severe illness. She shares her heart by providing the most professional care and adding personal touches to the care she provides.
Here are some kind words from one of her clients:
"She does everything right and has from the very start. I have a lot of anxiety along with my physical ailments and I was very reluctant to have CAREGivers. She creates a very comfortable and easy environment while also knowing exactly how to help in the safest way possible. She doesn't overstep or try to do anything for me that I can do myself, and that is very important to me. We always have a good time and we have become very good friends along the way. I am grateful for all that she does and that she helps me remain as independent as possible."
This CAREGiver shows leadership by relaying pertinent client information to her co caregivers so that they can also succeed in the client’s home. She is creative in coming up with meaningful activities and is an absolute rockstar in getting our resistant Alzheimer’s clients to perform their daily tasks. She truly goes above and beyond for her clients and with helping the office staff whenever she can. She keeps an open line of communication and is wonderful with updating us about client changes and concerns.
Our CAREGiver of the year for 2019 is Nichole Rushton!! Nichole has so much compassion for the work that she does. She always puts her client’s needs first and does whatever she can to provide them with the best quality of care. She continuously goes above and beyond to show her clients how much they mean to her. We want to thank you for Living Home Instead by Taking the Lead and by Sharing your Heart.  You uphold our Core Values by doing what is ethical and right and by displaying the can do, do whatever it takes to get the job done attitude.
