In-Home Help for Massachusetts Seniors

Apple Pie and Growing Up in Worcester

Fall was always my favorite time of year. Dad would take me on nature walks at Moore State Park and then we'd pick apples at the orchard. Mom would make the best apple pie... and that's not just my opinion. She has a few blue ribbons to prove it. We'd help peel the apples while she made the buttery crusts. Then it would be torture waiting for them to come hot out of the oven and be served a la mode.

Postcards from a Simpler Time

Sure, we had a family vacation to the Cape and Nantucket. And I'll never forget the excitement of seeing the Sox at Fenway. But the memories I treasure most are simple ones of times shared with Dad, like the first time he let me "caddy" for him at the golf course, giving me a crisp 20-dollar bill when we finished, even though he had to carry the bag for the last 8 holes.

Dealing with Change

Even though Dad's alone now, he loves living in the old house with the familiar pictures he and Mom hung on the walls so many years ago. He still walks the three blocks to the course for his Thursday morning round with his buddies. But lately I've noticed some changes. He gets confused and can't find things around the house, and last week I found out he hadn't paid the phone bill. He's such an independent guy and I can't imagine moving him to assisted living or a nursing home. He just needs a little help, but I can't be there every day.

Home Instead Senior Care® Can Help Him Stay in His Home

When family members or friends aren't able to help the older adults they love, Home Instead CAREGiversSM can. With a network of locations across Massachusetts and worldwide, Home Instead Senior Care is all about taking care of older family members long-term in the homes they've enjoyed and treasured. We provide a range of services including companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, shopping, errands -- everything you'd do for your loved one, and more -- to give you peace of mind, and give your family member the safety and privacy he or she deserves.

Inspired by a Personal Experience

It was Paul and Lori Hogan's own personal experience caring for their 100-year-old grandmother in her home that inspired them to launch Home Instead Senior Care in 1994. They realized many families had the same need for non-medical in-home care and elder companionship that could help seniors live independently at home. The demand for these important services has been so great, that the company's network now has 800 locally owned franchises across North America and around the globe.

Reliable, Dependable Services Around-the-Clock

Our responsible, experienced CAREGivers are members of the local community, familiar with the resources available in your area of the Bay State. Home Instead Senior Care services are available 24/7, every day of the year, including holidays, and are delivered by trusted CAREGivers who are screened, bonded and insured employees -- never independent contractors.
