Kelly February 2023 Standing Ovation

Kelly cares for two clients in the same facility back-to-back. These two clients are best of friends and love how Kelly cares about them. Kelly is assisting one in a house sale and uses a special van to transport both of these lovelies to lunch and other activities. Although Kelly is close to both, she maintains great company boundaries and her role in their care. She is a trusted source for the family, us and most especially her clients.

“A true friend is one soul in two bodies”….it is safe to say that these two beautiful women invented the “BFF”. They live in different apartments in the same lovely Assisted Living in Santa Rosa and share as much of each day together as they can. Kelly, our Care Pro, cares for them both with such loving attention.  She works in tandem with the Facility to manage their meals and their activities and even took them both to a local matinee.  We are so blessed to have such a skilled attentive Care Pro.  Thankyou KELLY!!!

Kind and Sweet Caregiver, Tippee finds words to sooth each client she has the privilege of serving. Everyone who has her as a Care Pro tells us how kind and sweet she is as well as extremely skilled. Watching her interact with bedridden clients as well as mobile clients, is like watching a very beautiful dance of care and attention. She has to be the kindest Care Pro we have ever met.

More often than not being a Care Pro and taking care of a family, in Sylvia's case a couple, goes well beyond the 'hands-on'. Sylvia was a huge emotional support for our dear client "Barbara" as her husband passed. We have come to rely on Silvia for her dependability, attentiveness, documentation for the benefit of everyone, insight, foresight and above all willingness to accept new Clients and meet those challenges. She is the most genuine soul and we love her humility and beautiful smile most of all.

The decision to choose Leslie as Care Pro of the month for November was unanimous. With our unconditional support she navigated a very difficult situation that allowed her to take a step back, recover and come out even stronger. She has accepted new clients with grace and the experience gave her the motivation to step-up her "game", enroll for additional education for certifications, help us with extended facility care for a family, and take on overnights. We are so grateful that she continues to choose us, and we look forward to the difference that she makes for our clients with her care.


November 2022 Rookie of the Month: Rachel

Rachel came to us after several years of navigating the elders in her family through dementia and relocating her life to make sure they were safe, loved and cared for. Rachel’s very first client is caring for Mrs. C. She is the matriarch of a very large ranch family with lots of siblings concerned about their mom facing on-set dementia. She has not left her client side, offering her redirection, and using all her experience encouraging Mrs. C to share all her old recipes and “teach her how to cook Italian". She has earned the trust of five sons and daughters and when Mr. C fell ill she immediately mastered the responsibilities of couples care. She knows the difference between an opinion and an observation and her documentation is allowing the family to improve their care and communication. We are so grateful Rachel chose us….Home Instead/Sonoma!

Ben is very professional; he always reaches out to Staffing and Care Management when he has a question. He is with a family that tells us that they love his care. Our September honoree of the STANDING OVATION award goes to MARY L!!!! Mary loves her scrubs and having been in in-home care for years, she has a wardrobe full of them. She asked for a patch so she can represent Home Instead, so we created one!! Mary wanted to find a way to upcycle her wardrobe of scrubs so in addition to her new logo Home Instead scrubs, we have found more than one way to use them!! Thanks Mary for such a bright idea!!

What a remarkable Care Professional!.

Ann was chosen as a Rookie of the Month for July 2022. Not new to caregiving but new to us at Home Instead, she has picked up the challenge of getting her two clients out and engaged.

“Mary” hadn’t been to a concert in years but thoroughly enjoyed her trip to the mariachi concert on the grass at the Green Music Center and then down to see a movie because both she and Ann had read the book “Where the Crawdads Sing”!!!

She then spent her shift with “Eoin” having him teach her how to do the Scottish dances that he treasures and hasn’t danced since his wife passed.

When asked how she was able to offer this life changing care to her Clients, Ann replied, "I really like to have FUN, I feel that they should too!” It is worth noting that Ann's hands-on care is exceptional too!

Thank you Ann, we are so grateful you chose us!!!

When our Ambassador Care Pro Elizabeth finishes a shift with the best skills and documentation, we have a perfect match for the client and their family. Elizabeth makes every shift complete with exemplary details that immediately reports to our virtual “family room”. The details are accessible online by the client’s family so that they will know about the day's activities, personal care tasks, mental health, transportation, meal prep or doctor visits. Every detail is accounted for, which allows the family to feel connected though at a distance. Each time we interact with Yamille she is so very flexible for the changes with her Petaluma client. She never complains when the client’s family makes last minute changes.  She is professional through and through.  Never overextends her scope of focus aligning herself with the care plan as written and directed and will always make herself available for open shifts with other Home Instead clients requesting a CarePro with her skillset.

Jack is a great representative of our company. He regularly supports our HR Director at Job Fairs; he is a huge hit at our social events like the Rohnert Park Senior Center "SENIOR PROM"!!  He has extended his skills with the clients he serves and was gracious to continue working the family of a Hospice client.  He is rock steady, continuously updating his training, and always has his documentation in on time.

Lindsay is a seasoned caregiver who gives a lot of attention to her clients. She gets to know them well and just recently engaged with a client to help him thru the loss of his beloved wife. She created an origami mobile with his wife’s original work. Lindsay is great at documenting her activities, stays within the ‘scope of care’, communicates regularly and is an ultimate professional. Lindsay is a treasure to Home Instead and all the clients she serves!

Although Tippi is new to Home Instead she knocked it out of the park with her first and very difficult hospice client. Stephanie is our winner due to all the care and support she gave to our client named  Jordan.   Jordan suffers from dementia that is progressing rapidly and he often has great anxiety and requires a lot of redirection and compassionate patient care. Stephanie,  his devoted  Home Instead CAREGiver  stepped out and took on an extraordinary  difficult situation and handled Jordan with grace.  She has consistently shown professionalism and compassion.  She took the lead, shared her heart and built trust with Jordan and with us. Wilma has shown significant skill in caring for a very difficult and medically fragile client.  Wilma has carried out the Home Instead mission to care for this client providing an exceptional home care experience. Kerry Ann is soft spoken & kind and has made great strides working with our client Molly. Molly’s family has taken to Kerry Ann & has reported the positive changes in Molly’s care since she started. They ask her to attend family parties with them because she “knows how to calm Molly” and has been successful in showering her and getting Molly “all dolled up” which they appreciate. Before Kerry, Molly was refusing to shower and layered her clothing. The connection & understanding that Kerry has made with her is noticed. She truly enjoys Molly which says it all.

As a new CAREGiver to Home Instead, Steve communicates well by phone and messaging through our system, attends CAREGiver meetings, is good with technology, well-oriented & trained and works on one of our most skilled cases. He took an assignment where client's behaviors did not fit his personal values however he was able to put the client's needs first.

He has always been willing to help and has a positive attitude. Our Home Care Consultant asked him to come with on a care consult to meet the family of potential clients . The family was very impressed with his kind manor and answers to their questions. I was so very happy to have him represent HISC. The clients adult son really would love to have Steve be their future CAREGiver for his parents.

She has worked with HISC since 2015 and demonstrates her work ethic along with her patience and calming energy during difficult situations. She enjoys connecting with her clients as well as helping her clients remain independently in their own homes.

Caregiver of the month for October 2019 is…Jamie M. Jamie took initiative during the fires of 2019 to safely house our vulnerable client. The situation became critical and Jamie Took the Lead by caring for the client in her home along with several caregivers assigned to the client. This was an act of kindness and helped Build Trust with our client and the family. We are so proud of Jamie for her compassion and leadership in caring for our client. Way to go Jamie!

Erica cared for our client as she was passing. Erica changed the end of our client’s life and her family will never forget her for that. Our client’s son told us how thankful he was for their entire experience with Home Instead. He said the family talked about it after mom passed and they all agreed that they felt as though they were surrounded by angels the whole time they were with us. Esther is always willing to pick up last second shifts to help us and our clients, she’s gotten up out of bed to go work a night shift when we needed her to. When she asks for time off she gives plenty of notice, so we can cover her clients. She has the skills to go anywhere and she is willing to go to any client. She has a positive attitude which is very good support for her clients who suffer from Depression or are on hospice care. Way to go Esther!

When she needed time off, Adriana requested it well in advance allowing our schedulers time to find replacements for her. January 2014 CAREGiver of the Month: Donna E.

Donna CGoM January 2014

Donna is a lively 87 year old and has worked for our Home Instead office in Sonoma County since Jan.2, 2006 and prior to that she worked with the HISC office in Roseville, CA. When asked said about Donna, CARE manager Theresa said “ I could call her at 4am for an emergency and she’d not only answer the phone, she’d go out & care for the client in need. She LIVES Home Instead by responding like a loving family member rather than a hired hand”. Donna lives a very young at heart life (she went sky-diving for her 85th birthday!) and live Home Instead every day.​
