Our 93 year old mother has had live-in care since September. My sisters and I live out of town and we wanted to honor her wishes of staying in her home. She recently had a hospital stay and her doctor recommended that she go to a skilled nursing facility. I had a meeting with Michele and Scott and they guided me in the direction of having health care come in to the home. Within a week, our Mom had shown an improvement. I can only imagine what would’ve happened had we sent her to a facility. The staff at Home Instead is compassionate and always available to help.
My Aunt Pat is 88 years old and her trusted caregiver from Home Instead is Patsy Connor. Patsy constantly goes above and beyond to meet her needs. She has a wonderful personality and the two of them quickly became best of friends. We consider her part of our family and could not ask for a more dedicated caregiver!
My friend, Marianne, asked that I share her praise of Francine, her long time caregiver from Home Instead. Francine has been a loyal, thoughtful, and dependable care giver for many years. She cannot imagine getting through one of the most difficult times in her life without Francine. Francine has been a true blessing in Marianne’s life. She is a wonderfully kind and thoughtful representative of Home Instead.
My sweet mother is 98 years old and medically fragile. She has had Home Instead companion care for the last 8 years and we could not be happier with all of our Home Instead family. Sue Palmer plans meals and cooks, keeps track of all the food inventory in the refrigerator, files paperwork, washes and styles her hair and keeps her toenails healthy and beautiful. Judi Henry is here 5 days a week, helps her shower and dress, takes her to her medical appointments, helps her walk with her walker in the mall 4 days a week and even runs out to get groceries as needed. Renee Sweetenburg is often here overnight and weekends, and makes sure the kitchen and bathrooms get a thorough cleaning. She keeps all supplies refilled in the house, including cleaning supplies, paper towels and toilet paper. Mother always comments on how kind, gentle and patient she is, when working with her. Karen Morris is here overnight weeknights. She never fails to be dependable, faithful, and kind in every way. She has a very generous spirit and seems to enjoy her work tremendously. Allison Chan has been here for the shortest time, but she has been so flexible and bends over backwards to be accommodating. She has come early several times so that she can answer the door for guests, which mother can no longer do. Because her hours are limited, she is only here for limited shifts. Mother says that even in short shifts, they always "work as a team" to accomplish whatever task they need to complete. Overall, these women support each other so that they can make mother's household run smoothly. The are all remarkable, each in their own way. Mother and I are so very grateful to all the Home Instead staff, to include those who do the scheduling. My whole family has great regard for each of them.

Leigh and Barbara are my husband's caregivers. They are both very competent, caring aides. Not only do they bathe him, change him, do the laundry and dishes, and help with feeding and exercises, they have a calming voice which he likes. They also tolerate our cats and they can make Ed laugh. That's important! Thank you for all your help, Leigh and Barbara.
Home Instead has been very reliable and has taken good care of my father. Monique and Deanna have taken great care of my father. They are always there for him and can be counted on to give him the care he needs.
Because of a TBI, my husband was in need of a caregiver, so I chose Home Instead to help us out. That was 2 1/2 years ago. Connie has been with us for almost the entire time. She and my husband have quite a structured routine every morning going from Planet Fitness to home exercises to personal care. Once I told her she needed to a physical therapist because of her attention to detail with his workouts. I trust her so much regarding his safety and certainly her assistance around our home when helping me. Thank you Connie!

NANCY, KAREN, BARBARA, and DAWN are all marvelous caregivers for our 99-year-old mom. They look for ways to help and have an abundance of patience and empathy. We are always confident in the level of care Mom will receive when they are on duty.
The caregiver visits my mother at home once a week and is always on time and works her full shift. The heath care provider meet with me yesterday at my mother's house during her weekly visit. She is, without a doubt, the most professional, kind, and compassionate person that I have worked with. We recently had a death in the family and she was on hand to offer support to my mother during a very difficult time.The care giver consistently provides excellent service to my mother. For example, she goes out of her way to organize and clean the house and recently added a quilt to the couch where my mother sets to watch TV. She was not asked to do this, she just did it. It makes for a more comfortable setting for my mother. The caregiver that we have been assigned is a true blessing to my mother and me. Thank you and her for the excellent service provided by your company. The company has been very responsive to my requests to take my mother to the doctor on multiple occasions. I work long hours and sometimes I cannot be on hand to take my other to the doctor. The company has always replied to my requests to transport my mother to the doctor in a timely manor. They are always kind and professional towards me concerning all maters related to my mother's care.
Our family had a recent need for 24 hr care for a loved one. Home Instead was recommended to us by several friends; they did not disappoint. Their providers were compassionate and dependable. The sales associate met me at the hospital to explain their services. They were able to begin care just hours later. We would highly recommend Home Instead.
My family and I couldn't be more pleased with the services received for my mother's care of the last 13 months. From the initial contact with Karen in Lynchburg, to Michelle Crigger in Roanoke to several caregivers with Sharon being our most frequently assigned aid, we received excellent service at a time when it was most needed. We will not hesitate to contact them again should services be needed in the future.

Home Instead was the 4th Home Health Agency we worked with and from the beginning, Zach and Stephanie were very responsive to my calls and questions and Terry, the nurse, called weekly to check on my Mom and provided support to me when I had questions regarding her health. While staffing for 24/7 care is challenging, regardless of the company, overall, Home Instead provided us with well qualified, kind caregivers. When we did have a problem, they resolved it quickly. Toward the end we were lucky enough to have 2 caregivers from Home Instead (supplementing our private pay ones) and they provided my Mom with kind, consistent, qualified care. I wish we had chosen them from the beginning.
My mother lives by herself in a retirement community several states away from me. I appreciate the care the Home Instead caretakers give to my mother. They provide her with companionship and are able to let me know if she needs anything. My mother’s memory is slipping and I feel more comfortable with having someone there watching out for her.
Have a wonderful lady coming most every morning who fixes my breakfast and things I want cooked. She does other things for me as keeping the house clean doing the laundry and helping me dress. I am very pleased.
Home Instead could not have been more cooperative; they could not have been nicer. The lady that came here to the house was very, very nice. She got along very well with us. It's just my husband got to the point that there was very little that we could do. He was so resistant of everything that was being done. And that of course was not the lady's fault. This agency was just with us a short while. Had I known about them earlier, I think they could have helped me out a great deal but I just didn't know about them. By the time I did get them, my husband had deteriorated in such a level that he needed memory care.
