I have been able to watch Hannah L work very well with our clients at the Perley Health. Hannah is very patient, kind and understanding. I have watched her with this client and Hannah is able to interact with her very well which has a positive impact on this client.

We have recently started working with Home Instead to help care for our Dad. Home Instead has been incredibly responsive as Dad's care needs have increased. Amazing service provided by Home Instead!

After a sudden and unexpected emergency, Home Instead was able to accommodate , setting up services in less than 12h, despite being a new client. My mother required evening and overnight care, and we were unable to determine exactly how long we would need the service. Catherine, the office administrators, was so accommodating, ensuring the appropriate coverage was available and modified based on my mom’s preferences (thanks Cat for all your patience, hard work, and support during this stressful time). Catherine would ensure that I was kept up to date with all changes and arrangements being made, despite my being out of town.

I would also like to mention one of the caregivers, Hellen, who was so supportive and made significant efforts to connect with my mom and make her feel safe during this stressful time.

We are very pleased with Wendy Edelson and the staff as they are amazing with my father in law. We appreciate everything they do when they are with us. Thank you again for everything you and your team does.

We are so very thankful we found HOME INSTEAD. Wendy met with my Father within one day to assess his urgent requirements following a hospital admission. Wendy listened to his needs and discussed with him all caregiving options to meet his concerns and the importance of matching caregivers to the client. This was an important step in Father being treated with respect and to feel valued in the decision of his care. As we were receiving care from the (then) current company, Wendy aligned more immediate care to provide the family with a much-needed break from what had been 24/7 care. Lise and Catherine both made the transition seamless - Cat offers her top-rate experience and valuable strategies in planning the shifts and times that work best for Father who lives in his own home.

The caregivers have all been new to us - George has our highest respect and is a gentleman offering a gentle, guiding voice and reassurance that he is there and permits Father to make his own decisions. Any caregiver needs to leave their agenda at the door, as they say. Kathy has also been covering many of the day shifts and produces lovely meals she prepares offering options for Father to choose his lunch and dinner meal choices to suit his preferences and heart-healthy meal requirements.

It has just been 3 weeks on board, and we have chosen to entrust our loved one to Home Instead. We are constantly impressed and in awe of how much higher a standard they expect from their caregivers. Their training and attention to detail thus far have been a cut above the rest.

Thankful for the quick and timely 1:1 companion Alzheimer's and Dementia Care PSWs. Hussain was so calm, kind and patient with my mother. She says "He's such a lovely man." Thank you.

I work at Alta vista manor. Home instead has been in our building for a few years now. I can absolutely say that their staff are absolutely amazing. Especially Shanese Darrell! She has taken her time to get to know our resident and provide exceptional care. Also, Wendy E, their care coordinator always makes herself available. When our home has any questions. We are so grateful for the help of Home Instead! It allowed my sister Jan who lives alone to recover from her long awaited and needed hip replacement surgery. Initially the plan was to ask friends and family to assist, but we soon realized that would not be a reliable solution

Wendy met us within a day and assessed Jan's needs and telling us about how Home Instead could help her recover after the surgery. It was all well laid out and clearly explained. And so thoughtful of Wendy to send flowers and well wishes after the surgery. Thank you Wendy. Cat had had two caregivers arranged within a day or two, much appreciated. Ola was much appreciated by Jan, Ola got to know Jan's needs and habits and was always there to help. They developed quite a rapport between themselves, which is what Home is truly about. And thank you Lise for helping us to keep things sorted out. Home Instead is a great resource for those needing help with family. Much appreciated...thank you.

Home Instead were quick to send a PSW to assist my mom. My mom really enjoyed her time with PSW Omolara. Home Instead were very flexible when we needed to revise the schedule and very accommodating when we went from full days to half days. We would definitely use their services again in the future when my mom needs additional assistance.

Our Mother is 98, legally blind, and lives alone. We have been using Caregivers from home instead for at least three years now. Sharon, Maraya, and Carter have all been wonderful Companions for our Mom, while doing little chores and giving her dinner each evening. They have all been extremely flexible if we needed any changes in timing or schedule. The administrative staff, especially Cat and. Lisa have always been very accommodating. We just met Wendy , the new Client Care Coordinator who is also a lovely person.

I was discharged from hospital early following surgery for a fractured hip. My daughter came from Vancouver to help me. She was very concerned about leaving me and the help I needed at home. Services were quickly set up. We were both pleased that the two home support workers came the week before with their coordinator to meet me. Kathy and Marta came daily for the first week making my breakfast; helping with personal care; doing some light housecleaning and making my lunch when needed. As I improved the service was reduced. Now I feel I can manage. Thank you Kathy and Marta. You got me on the road to recovery.

The staff from Home Instead are quick to respond, provide compassionate care, and are very resourceful in their interactions with my 100 year old mother. We have hired home instead for our parents, mainly for the care of my mom who has dementia. We are happy that my parents are able to stay in their home thanks to the caregivers from Home Instead. A special thank you to Cat from the office who jumped in to go take care of my mom when the caregiver called in sick. My mother had a fall at home and was generally a mess. Before that we had not used any home care services. On extremely short notice Home Instead found a care giver (Janice) to come to the home. (Like only one hour and she was there). Janice was amazing. She had mom showered and happy. She stayed with mom for the afternoon and evening, made her a meal, kept her company while she had a glass of wine and then got her safely into bed. Unfortunately mom had another fall the next morning and Janice found her and made ambulance arrangements to take her to the hospital which will be her final stop. The efficiency and kindness that the whole Home Instead Team and Janice in particular showed was amazing and we will hold in our hearts that my moms last meal in her beloved apartment was with such an amazing human being. We are giddy with thankfulness that we called home instead and our only regret is that we did not employ them earlier!

I used their services for my mom when I was away on vacation. While she lives independently, I wanted to have someone do check-ins and spend time with her while I was away. Chrysanta was assigned to my mom and she was awesome! My mom enjoyed her company and was very comfortable with her. Home Instead always sent caring qualified caregivers to look after my mother when she needed regular care giving. Now I have good caregivers that help me on a regular basis. Louise and Fola have helped me a lot. Home Instead is very reliable and caring, always trying to find the right person to help people that need help. I highly recommend them. When my brother suddenly needed home care services, Home Instead was quick to respond to my request for an assessment. A case manager visited us at my brother’s home, and within days, we had someone scheduled to come at the times requested. When my brother’s needs changed, Home Instead was once again quick to pivot and find a second personal support worker to come at the newly required times. I’ve also appreciated the regular communications regarding services provided and that you’ve been available as needed. This has been reassuring and helpful. Thank you.

We have experienced excellent Customer Service from both the Care Coordinator and Service Coordinator at Home Instead. They take the time and effort to make their service a personal one for our family. Caregivers have found ways to connect with my mother and play an integral role in making this season of life a positive one!

I have been very pleased with care given to my husband by Elizabeth, Cherline, Edith & Jacqueline. And Divya has been very responsive and courteous in additional requests.

My dad fell and broke his hip in December and when he came home he needed additional support beyond what my mum could reasonably provide. Physiotherapy, exercise, and some general physical help. What we got was so much more. We had a few misses with getting the right carer at the very beginning, but Home Instead was extremely quick to respond, and to narrow in on exactly what and who would be the right fit.

My husband became very ill in December 2020. Home Instead Ottawa provides us with a PSW twice a week. Even in these very difficult times we have had their wonderful caring people to help & support us. Thank you so much Home Instead!

We used Home Instead to care for my wife while I was away for 3 weeks recently and she assured me that the care was so good that I didn't need to return. Cody Howe was one of the caregivers and demonstrated a level of attention and professionalism that went beyond the call of duty. He provided appropriate care and additional support to keep my wife engaged and busy. Excellent service. Shout out to Anna and Christina who were part of the team and kept her engaged and diligently completing her exercise routine such that we saw improvement in her mobility.

My family and I reached out to Home Instead in Kanata three years ago for caregivers. My parents live in a retirement home that also has assisted living. We hired Home Instead’s staff to care for my Mom every morning for 4 hours and every evening for 4 hours. If I could rate this company with 100 stars, I absolutely would. Shaun, the owner; Lisa, the director of client care; Vanessa, our service coordinator; and Lise, the supervisor have all been absolutely phenomenal. The caregivers they employ are experienced, kind, caring, reliable, hard working and compassionate. It is incredible how much my Mom has improved under their care! Need more stars! Home Instead is great. THEY CARE...for real. My 91 year old dad is all there mentally, but he's physically challenged and weak. But he has a fiercely independent. So he tries to not use walker etc. The care givers at Home Instead are very accepting and take care of everything needed. We have used them for years. Their service has always been great! Again, with most of the caregivers over the years, they have really cared about what they are doing...caring for my dad.

The staff and care givers at Home Instead have been terrific. My dad has been using Home Instead for almost a year and he is doing really well, even during covid. So, if you need help for a loved one or anyone, I highly recommend them. I know I can count on them. Tks for being kind, patient and so helpful.

I needed someone to provide overnight care for my dad on short notice as I live across the country. On my first call to Home Instead Ottawa, I reached Angie who was immediately helpful and responsive. She had a care provider lined up within two hours and that wonderful lady, Shuvra provided my dad with the most kind and considerate care imaginable. Shaun coordinated communication with Shuvra and arranged for an extension of the arrangement until we could get my dad into long term care. The care and companionship my mother has received through Home Instead Senior Care is professional and extremely valuable to us as a family. One of your assigned companions (Marie) has gone the extra mile in evaluating Mom's capabilities and providing helpful advice to ease her transition from Chapel Hill to the long term care facility at the Montfort CSLD. Your management team has also been attentive to Mom's needs by providing email feedback received from the caregivers as well as working out scheduling issues. We are relieved and confident in your caregivers' ability to look after our 93 year old mother.

From the first frantic call I made to you Shaun Sullivan, looking for care for my elderly mom and dad, during the sudden death of my mom, then supporting my grief stricken father 24 hours a day for 3 months, Home Instead was just so supportive, caring and accommodating. Looking at past emails, we changed our plans so many times and then changed them again. Each time, Shaun replied, "consider it done" which was such a huge relief for all of us.

I was in need of 24 hour care of my wife for several days while i was away to a wedding. I found there info from shoppers home health care where my wife now retired worked for several years . Reason for care my wife was recovering from hip surgery and a recent fall , upon meeting Lisa Caldwell i felt quite at ease and i explained to them my wife needs and that she was a closet smoker . Shawn and Lisa worked out a schedule to our needs and they were met . About the caregivers we had five i met three of them i must commend all the caregivers they really do care and my wife found them very friendly and engaging my wife had a lot of fun with them which is so important. The cost was reasonable considering the care involved. On behalf of my wife and myself i would recommend this service to anyone whom needs quality care

Home Instead provided care for my father for over 2 1/2 years up until his passing in October 2017. In the beginning he was still quite active and a few hours a day was sufficient. Over the course of the next few years his needs grew until 24 hour care was necessary. Through it all he was provided with uninterrupted skilled, caring help. They helped with everything from entertaining friends on occasion to enduring 3 weeks of daily cancer out patient treatments. I live in the US and never felt helpless because of distance. The lines of communication were excellent and I felt very much a part of decision making. It was my father's wish that he pass in his own home on his own terms. Home Instead and the incredibly devoted team he had made his wish come true. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for compassionate and skilled care for a family member.
