Services include but are not limited to: Personal Care (Bathing, dressing, toileting, etc.), Memory Care (Dementia, Alzheimer’s, etc.), Companionship, Chronic Disease Support (MS, ALS, Cancer, Parkinson’s, Diabetes, etc.), Hospital to Home Transitions, Gentle Mobility Support Exercises, Nutrition & Meal Prep, 24/7 support, Hospice/End of Life Care, Household Duties.

Home Instead provides comprehensive Care Professional Training, Client to Care Professional compatibility and quality assurance. We are a registered member of the BC Care Providers Association and keep up to date on all relevant information to ensure we can provide informed client centered care.

A: No, Home Instead has extensive training and knowledge within the aging adult care industry but is equally prepared to provide home care tailored to a variety of needs and ages. We proudly support clients through ICBC, WCB, Public Guardian & Trustee of BC & more.

A: Yes, Home Instead Care Professionals provide eldercare and companionship to aging adults who may require additional attention and/or personalized long-term care while they reside in a retirement living setting.

A: No, but our Care Professionals provide light housekeeping as part of a Care Plan to ensure our clients can live a safe & comfortable life at home.

A: Yes, all Home Instead Care Professionals are required to clear an RCMP Criminal Background Check including a Vulnerable Sectors Check, as well as successfully complete and clear a thorough personal and professional reference screening. Each Care Professional is also bonded and insured.

A: Home Instead proudly supports a program called EMPOWER, a learning management software that allows are Care Professionals to stay up to date with training and sharpen their skills/knowledge throughout their employment. Each Home Instead Care Professionals is required to participate in this exclusive training program which covers topics such as communicating with aging adults, planning activities for life enrichment, recognizing illness or change in behaviour, safety assessment training, personal care education and other programs we assign throughout their employment to better their knowledge.

A: Yes, we have concluded through experience that without a certain level of home care provided each week we are not able to provide a meaningful difference in our client’s lives. It is important to Home Instead to make a difference, to keep our clients safe, and promote their independence; we need the time each week to keep this promise.

A: Consistency of care is a top priority. We firmly believe that building a relationship between our clients and their Care Professionals allows for the best quality of care. However, we recommend a consistent care team so that there is always a back up Care Professional with a relationship to the client in the event your primary worker is unable to come to a visit.

A: Home Instead has taken infection control very seriously from the start of the pandemic. Training courses were developed quickly and rolled out effectively to all our staff. This includes the use of daily screening to each of our Care Professionals before they are permitted to step into any home. We promoted the importance of handwashing and provided PPE to ensure safety and Public Health Adherence. We are also proud to say we support the BC Immunization Plan and thank our Provincial Government for providing all our staff with access to the COVID-19 Vaccinations.
