Kurt Kay, Franchise Owner (1966-2019)

​Kurt and I worked side by side since 2008 serving seniors of the Cumberland and Perry County areas. Upon Kurt's passing in May of 2019, I was given the opportunity to acquire Home Instead. I am thrilled about this opportunity and I look forward to engaging with the community and continuing to support our team and our amazing Care Professionals! I feel especially blessed to be able to carry on Kurt's legacy through our children and Home Instead.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking for family and friends, going to the beach, and playing bocce. 

Our Chief Operating Officer, Eric, is a Penn State University graduate where he earned a bachelor's degree in business management with a focus in Organizational Behavior and Leadership. Since graduating, he worked as an operations manager and successfully opened and operated a dental office in York, PA. He has several years of business management experience to bring to our team and is excited to be making an impact in our office as well as in the community. 

Eric resides in York, PA with his wife, Abby. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, boating, and golfing.

​Our General Manager, Amy Murphy, starting with Home Instead in 2004. She performed many roles in the office and was recently promoted to GM after 14+ years with the company and her experience, loyalty and commitment to being a supportive leader to our team. She is a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematical Science.

Amy finds joy in knowing that Home Instead is impacting the community by providing quality Care Professionals and serving seniors by allowing them to stay safe and comfortable in their home.

Amy currently lives in Harrisburg with her husband and 3 children. She enjoys baking, watching movies and running in her free time.

Joining the Home Instead team in 2023 her goal is to build authentic partnerships within the communities she is serving, while educating older adults and their families on how they can safely and comfortably continue to live in their own home. 

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Vizsla, hiking, running, and gardening. 

Amanda started with Home Instead as Client Care Coordinator in September of 2023.  She has 14 years of experience working with seniors as a certified nursing assistant. Most recently she was introduced to the world of home care, during her time working in hospice. This is where she discovered her passion to help seniors to remain in their homes. She noticed the need for guidance in finding care to keep our aging community in their homes despite their growing care needs.

She looks forward to getting out in the community.  She hopes to help bring relief to our new and current clients, by assisting them in navigating the steps to remain at home where they love to be.

Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and two dogs. She also spends her free time painting, baking, and curling up with a good book.

Crystal joined the Home Instead Team in 2011. She has done many roles during her years with Home Instead. Her true “seat on the bus” is scheduling. She works closely with Liz to build the schedules for all the Care Professionals and clients. She also manages our On-Call supervisors.

Crystal worked as a sales representative for 15 years in the building industry. She started as a Care Professional and loved it. She worked her full time job while caring for seniors and also as an on-call supervisor. She was drawn to Home Instead by our slogan, “To Us Is Personal” and eventually decided to leave her full-time job and come on board with us full-time. To this day, she works by this motto.

Crystal enjoys spending time with her husband and two adult children. She likes camping, crafts, and vacationing.

Liz started with Home Instead in June of 2016 as a Care Professional. She wanted to become a Care Professional because she enjoys helping others, especially seniors. She then became an on-call supervisor in March of 2017 and started helping with scheduling and working with the other Care Pros. Through her on-call/scheduling role, Liz gained a greater perspective on the business and she desired to keep striving to learn more. Liz now works as a Staffing Coordinator alongside Crystal Failor and she still helps with on-call on some weeknights and weekends.

In her personal time, Liz enjoys being with her two sons, watching their sporting events, and reading. She also loves day trips and going to the beach.

Alecia is glad to be part of the Home Instead Family as the Office Coordinator.

She always had an interest in the healthcare field. Alecia started her career as a Care Pro 5 years ago. As time went on, she wanted to learn more about the business side of things. Alecia studied Healthcare Management at HACC and graduated with her associate degree.

As her knowledge grew, Alecia was able to dip her hand in other roles. She was previously an On Call Coordinator, Scheduler and a Client Relations Manager.

In Alecia’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her son, watching movies, and camping.
