Dan Pahos, Franchise Owner

Dan Pahos, Franchise Owner

Dan Pahos is the owner of the Birmingham Home Instead franchise. After dealing with long distance elder care issues, while taking care of his parents in MN, Dan decided to resign from his industrial supplies sales position and start up the first Home Instead franchise in the state of Alabama. Home Instead has positioned itself to be the premier home care company for the elderly and disabled in the Birmingham area. For more information on Dan, please click here.

Andrea Martin, Director of Operations

​Andrea Martin has been with Home Instead since January 2009. She has been working in the senior care industry for almost 14 years. She grew up in Tuscaloosa and graduated from the University of Alabama in 2006. While at Alabama she met her husband Will Martin. They were married in May 2007. When Andrea is not working, she loves spending time with her daughter Olivia, and her twins, Harper & William.

Stacey Brooks, Director of Finance

Stacey Brooks has been with Home Instead since February 2004 as Director of Finance. She was born and raised in the Birmingham area. She and her husband have three children. Most of her time outside of work is spent taking care of her busy family. Stacey enjoys traveling with her family and going to the movies. Stacey and her husband are very involved in Church of The Highlands where they lead small groups for married couples.

Jeanelle Huggins, Director of Client Services

​Jeanelle Huggins has been with Home Instead since March 2006, first as Staffing Coordinator and then as the Director of Client Services​. She grew up in the Atlanta area and settled in Birmingham after graduating from Samford University in 1996. Jeanelle loves being an aunt to her 11 nieces and nephews whom she enjoys visiting and spoiling. She loves singing in her church choir and spending time with family and friends. When not at work, she enjoys reading, eating chocolate (she eats that at work too), playing with her dog, and being a respite foster mom to babies through a local non-profit agency.

Burdette Payne, Service Inquiry Specialist

Burdette Payne joined Home Instead in July 2017. He grew up in Akron, Alabama, and graduated from The University of Alabama. Before joining Home Instead, Burdette spent over 30 years in health care management, as the business manager of a medical clinic. In his free time, he enjoys movies, attending the theatre, and cooking for family and friends.

Jill Ballinger, Recruitment and Retention Coordinator

​Jill Ballinger has been with Home Instead since January 2005. She started out as the receptionist and is now working in Human Resources. She and her husband Chad have been happily married since 2005. Jill has two young sons, Jackson and Camden, and a little girl named Brooklyn. When she is not working, Jill enjoys going to the movies with her husband, and spending time with her children.​​

Condoleezza Bell, Recruitment and Retention Coordinator

Condoleezza Bell has been working for Home Instead since June 2012. She became part of the office staff in February 2013 as the weekend on call CAREGiver. In 2019, Condoleezza was promoted to Recruitment and Retention Coordinator.

She was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She started her career as a CNA in 1983 and has enjoyed every moment being around senior citizens. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and hanging out with her son whenever he comes to town. Her hobbies are drawing, painting, knitting, reading, walking and occasionally working out.

Matthew Seals, Staffing Coordinator

Matthew has been with Home Instead since 2009, first as on-call staffing coordinator and now he is the on-site staffing coordinator team. Matthew has three children that keep him busy. His oldest son is in an officer in the Army. His other two children live locally. Matthew is a proud "Pappi" to his sweet granddaughter, Tilli. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys watching movies and Alabama football.

Janet Wallace, Staffing Coordinator

Janet Wallace has been with Home Instead since 2012, has an extensive background in the senior care industry as director of assisted living facilities, and comes from a long line of caregivers in her family. She has a passion for serving the elderly and their families by helping them maintain as much independence as possible. She takes pride in being a “matchmaker” by finding the best possible caregiver for each client.

Janet has two daughters and three grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys playing bridge, cooking, theater, and traveling (especially cruising).​

Amber McKinstry - Marketing

Amber McKinstry has been with Home Instead since July 2021. She has lived in the Birmingham area since her childhood and, after graduating from the University of Montevallo, she was a pre-school teacher for many years. She has worked in the private sector and nonprofit world before obtaining her Juris Doctorate in 2015. At that time she entered the Healthcare field working as Long Term Care Ombudsman and in a Long Term Care facility setting in Jefferson County. Amber enjoys music, reading and travel. She is a busy caregiver to her four demanding cats, Sterling, Lucy, Thurston & Lovie.

McKenna Williams, MSW, Client Care Coordinator

McKenna joined the Home Instead team in May 2022. She grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, and obtained her Master of Social Work degree in 2020 from Troy University.

Prior to joining Home Instead, McKenna worked for several years in child welfare in both the public and private sectors.

When she’s not working, McKenna enjoys traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with her friends and family.

Tonja Cook, Receptionist

Tonja Cook has been with Home Instead of Birmingham, AL since October of 2021 and has a passion for helping others! We are so grateful she joined our Home Instead family!

She has been married for 22 years and has 4 children ranging from ages 25 to 35! She also has 6 precious granndkids. Tonja loves watching movies in her free time and she's sure to have a recommendation for you if you need one!
