Our caregiver, Kim, anticipates what comes next very well in the care of my husband, who is wheelchair bound. She is expert in technique in caring for fall-risk clients, and is so cheery that my husband looks forward to seeing her. She organizes his sitting area and prepares his breakfast the way he likes it, which helps him focus and have a better start to his day. She is also very willing to do light housekeeping that is within sight of my husband. There is so much Kim does well, but finally, I do appreciate her efforts in speaking with him, because even though he may not have a lot to say, he enjoys listening to her, very much.
Hello everyone, my name is Michael Taber and I have had Home Instead caregivers for awhile now because I have Parkinson's disease. They are very helpful with almost any tasks I need done whether that be showering, getting changed, making meals, shopping, ect. I honestly do not know where I would be without my caregivers Andrew, Fehi, Hasmin and a multitude of others throughout the years.
My caregiver, Tess, is always available when I need her. Nothing is too much for her. Her willingness to tackle any situation is commendable. I can rely on her on her consistency and presence.
They were very efficient and cared for our loved one.
All staff that I have interacted have been very professional and polite. I have always recommended Home Instead to our families and friends since their care team is trained very well on how to take care for our seniors. The admin team understands the need and urgency and are always able to assist with finding care team coverage in a timely manner. Once again I highly recommend Home Instead to families in need at all times and who you can trust with your loved ones.

I have been receiving excellent help and support from my caregiver, Kim, for 5 months. She is a highly experienced professional who brings a wealth of knowledge about helping people in their homes. She is creative about finding solutions to problems. She offers her help but lets me do as much as I can for myself. She's learned how I live in my home, how I like things to be done, and always asks if she is unsure about something. Kim is a delightful companion. We talk about a wide range of subjects and laugh a lot. She's a jewel!
We have 2 caretakers Solimar & Fely. Solimar is a remarker caregiver. She is always on time &works hard. She gives all his medications on time & is an amazing cook so we have good healthy food & makes great desserts. solimar knows her work & -example-even cuts our fingernails & toes! When the nurse comes she explains how Gorman is doing. She’s so kind and respectful. We are glad to have her & helping us!

HomeInstead took excellent care of my mother for the last year of her life. I'm sure that the devoted care of long-term caregiver Bella and relief caregivers like Judith extended her life. They became extended family members. Manager Karen made sure she always had 24 care and was there on the spot for any transitions - she was excellent.
My interactions with the caregivers is very good. They provide relieve care for me to aid with bed bath, bed cleaning and removal of soiled items, transfer to wheelchair and feeding. They have in the past assisted with physical therapy for the patient. The agency has been good as far as responding to my request. The staff does arrive on time. If there is a problem they feel comfortable contacting me in the event they are running behind.
I have used Home Instead for various family members over the past 20 years. I have also referred many friends to them. They are extremely understandable with what each individual may or may not need. And the folks that have provided the care have been for the most part, excellent. The current caregiver my aunt has, has been with us 8 years and she is wonderful. Don't know what we'd do without her.
We have been using this provider, for my mother's in home care, for several years. Her caregivers have always been caring, and, I am most impressed with the supervisory team, as well as the franchise owner, who are hands on to make sure their clients needs are met.
My father was in the hospital and had been diagnosed with dementia. I had 24 hours before Medicaire coverage ended for the hospital stay, and needed to find a way to care for my father (since I lived in another state). Almost every inpatient facility had a waiting list. I discovered Home Instead, and after researching them decided that they could help my father stay in his home for a while.
It has been 5 months since HI has been providing 24 live-in care for my father. I have visited (without giving advance notice) and observed the care he receives, and can say without reservation that all the people I have come in conact with at HI are professional and well-trained, and have given my father the best care I can imagine (or expect).
Just the other day Dad's caregiver called me because a doctor had prescribed a medication that (even the doctor admitted) may or may not have any effect on helping Dad's memory, and the pharmacy called to say that it would cost (after insurance coverage) over $600 (for a 3 month supply). I appreciated his checking with me before spending my father's money on unnecessary medication.
I would recommend Home Instead to anyone who is looking for a professional home care provider for an elder parent.
Sylvia, caregiver through HomeInstead took excellent care of our mother. Our mother transitioned from her stay in nursing and rehab and needed assistance at home. I contacted Josie at HomeInstead and upon request of our mother, asked for Sylvia who has previously taken care of our mother. Sylvia has been a trusted caregiver in the past - it is not easy to let go of a loved one during the day to go back to work and she has been a compassionate companion. Sylvia assisted our mother getting dressed for the day, bathing, prepared her meals and took her through her exercise regimen. We are truly grateful for the compassion and care at this time of recovery for our mother.
My mother had pacemaker surgeries (4 of them due to complications) and thus was very weak and lost her mobility. After her discharge from rehabilitation hospital, we engaged HI to help with her recovery and give our family the peace of mind. My contact was Josie Vicera, who was very helpful and came to visit my parent's home to make recommendations that would help with her recovery. The two different helpers were very conscientious and worked with my mother on her physical and occupational therapy exercises. They are very caring. I would use them again and recommend to others in the same position.
Our experience with Home Instead has been great! My Mom has 24-hour support and primary care giver Bella, is there five days a week. She has become very close to my Mom and vice versa. Home Instead supervisor Karen has been excellent at communicating any changes or updates. They made a special effort to celebrate my Mom's 99th birthday with several members of their team taking the time to visit and give presents. My Mom is not easy to please, but not says she could not do without Bella. Bella treats her as if she was her own Mom.
It has taken me quite awhile to write this. I wish it didn't, but after my Papa passed away, I wasn't in a good place. It will be a year since he passed away in October, but I will forever be grateful for Home Instead, their caregivers & nurses & staff! Everyone I talked to were so nice & compassionate. They were with my grandpa 24/7 for almost 2 months. Night & day helping him with everything he needed help with. Jennifer set everything up & made sure we were taken cares of. She would call just to check up on how he was doing, how I was doing! Mary, Chary & Grace were the main caregivers helping us out & I couldn't have been happier with the care they gave him. It was like they really did love him & that made me feel very good!! That he was well taken care of. I really don't know what I would have done without Home Instead. Thank you all for taking such amazing care of my Papa, I will never forget it & if you need extra help... keep them in mind. They went out to their way for our family & I wish it hadn't taken me so long to write this, but give them a call if you need help. Truly. They will do whatever they can do make your loved ones comfortable & taken care of!
When my husband became ill one year ago, I got the referral to Home Instead from Kaiser, and I found their home health aides to be extremely caring and personable. They were dedicated to making my husband as comfortable as possible, and they were extremely conscientious. Sandy Sparkman, as the manager of the services we received matched our needs with her talented staff of home health aides. It was due to Tricia's alertness to my husband's symptoms that we took him to the emergency room, and his final hours were spent comfortably, surrounded by family. Other workers who stand out in my mind are David, Carline, Alvin and Sophia. I would recommend Home Instead without reservation to families needing home health assistance.
My elderly mother-in-law (101 years old) received wonderful care from this agency. The care givers became her friends and cared deeply for her. We all have had a wonderful experience with this agency.
Home Instead Senior Care's Sylvia, took wonderful care of my mom on a daily basis before being relocated to a 24hr care facility. My mom looked forward to her daily visits for her care, meals, conversation, etc. I highly recommend Home Instead Senior Care.
Our mother needed help in her recovery after being discharged from nursing & rehab. We contacted Home Instead to provide care giving services when we needed to return to work. Sylvia was so very helpful to our mother with her day to day needs in bathing, exercise, medication reminders and meals. Its a difficult and emotional decision to leave a loved one to return to work, but we quickly were put at ease, Sylvia and mom got along real well, she was also pleasant company to our mother.
We highly recommend Sylvia from Home Instead (San Mateo) as a competent and trustworthy care giver, she was instrumental in keeping our mother to her daily required exercises that aided in her speedy recovery.
