Salvatore Santora, Co-Owner
Salvatore Santora is co-owner of the Home Instead office. The father of three, Sal followed a varied career path including owning his own restaurant and having earned his Certification as an Electrician for the IBEW union. "Although I had a great job with good union benefits, I couldn't see myself in that career for the rest of my life." It was Sal's personal experience that prompted him to open a Home Instead Senior Care office. After his father passed away, his mother was living alone in their large home on 60 acres. Sal eventually moved his mother in to his own home so that he could provide 24-hour support. Mrs. Santora lived with Sal for 10 years. "I definitely understand the challenges that families face when a loved one is dependent upon you, and you also have a full-time job and additional responsibilities outside the home. My mother loved home and family more than anything, and I know that she wanted to remain at home among her familiar belongings. It gives me a great feeling that we are helping other families do the same for their aging loved ones."

Nancy Santora, R.N., Co-Owner
Nancy Santora, R.N., is the co-owner of the Home Instead office. The mother of three, Nancy attended nursing school at Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Roberts Weslyan College. Prior to Home Instead Senior Care, Nancy was the Director of Health Affairs at a large Rochester area retirement community and previous to that had been Director of an Enriched Living community. "Although the communities provided all the essentials for luxurious living, the residents often spoke wistfully about having to give up the homes in which they had built so many memories." Nancy's 10 years of experience in the senior communities combined with Sal's 10 years of personal experience caring for his mother makes them a very effective team. "Sal and I feel so blessed to be able to provide those essential services to seniors and families to enable them to remain safely in the homes that they love and feel comfortable in."

Liza Kelly, Home Care Consultant
Liza joined Home Instead in October of 2012. A native of New Jersey, she relocated with her husband Tim to the Auburn area where he grew up with his family. Liza wears many hats when she is at the office which include: marketing, home care consultations, quality assurance visits, CAREGiver training and also provides informational workshops to the community.
"When I meet with a prospective client, the wheels immediately begin turning. What kind of a caregiver are they looking for? Someone to motivate? Assist with household chores? Companionship? What do they need? What is going to enhance the quality of their life. The wheels don't stop turning until I feel like I have found the right fit for them".
The mother of three grown children, Liza worked as a Registered Nurse in hospitals, long term care facilities, and provided home care as well. She is an active member of Holy Family Parish, Auburn Rotary Club, the Clothes Closet and serves on the RSVP (Retired Seniors Volunteer Program) advisory council. In her spare time, Liza enjoys gardening, knitting, and is an avid reader.

Her work ethic, persistence and calming personality make her an excellent addition to our office.
Melissa is a native of the Finger Lakes area, she is married with 2 children and enjoys sports, reading and spending time with her family.
