Clarksville April 2021 Professional CAREGiver of the Month - Andrew W.
Meet Clarksville’s Professional CAREGiver of the Month for April, Andrew W. Andrew comes to us after working at Ft. Campbell on the cleaning staff and doing some factory work. He knew he would be more fulfilled helping people because he has a history of medical issues himself. He was born premature at only 1lb 11oz, and that has caused him to have some neurological issues. He does not let that stop him from providing the best care to his clients though, even having clients call to request him! Some of his most memorable clients include a Green Beret and another veteran who was a medic in Korea. Andrew loves the stories, and he loves the people!
When Andrew is not providing top notch care to his clients, he can be found collecting antiques and reading history books. Some of his favorite antiques include old washboards and tobacco pipes. His love for all things vintage even carries over into his wardrobe of tweed pants and newsboy caps. He has deep English roots and his ancestors were humble farmers, with their last name meaning “wheat taker”. Andrew is also in the process of joining the Orthodox Christian church, which maintains that it practices the original Christian faith, as passed down by holy tradition.
When asked why Andrew was nominated, his supervisor says, “Andrew has a heart of gold. You can tell that he genuinely cares for his clients and their happiness. Andrew loves his family and treats his clients as though they are a part of his own family.” We are certainly glad Andrew chose Home Instead and we hope he continues Sharing His Heart for many years to come!
