Clarksville August 2021 Client & CAREGiver Spotlight - Ralph B. & Jacob V.
Meet Ralph and his Professional CAREGiver, Jacob, Clarksville’s Spotlight Team for August! Mr. Ralph worked in a cigar factory in Alabama before retirement. He has been in Clarksville for 5 years now. He has 3 daughters, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, so he is blessed with a large family! Jacob has been coming to help Mr. Ralph for 8 months and Ralph says, “He’s the best caregiver we’ve ever had”. Jacob has a heart for caregiving and is currently in nursing school so he can eventually help people in other ways.
When Jacob comes in, he helps Mr. Ralph get a shower, shave, gather clothes and brush teeth. He will then clean the bathroom, make the bed, and do any other chore that is needed. If he doesn’t see anything, he will ask what needs to be done. He is a self-starter and a hard worker! Once the chores are all done, Mr. Ralph and Jacob will play Mexican Train Dominoes, Ralph’s favorite game. When asked about Jacob, Ralph’s family says, “He has become a part of our family.” Jacob said the same thing when asked about Mr. Ralph. You can feel the love between these two and we hope they continue “Sharing Their Hearts” for a long time to come!
