Hello everyone on the North Olympic Peninsula!! On Saturday September 18, 2021, the Home Instead Ohana Heroes “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” team did its best to “purple-ize” downtown Sequim.
Due to the dramatic increase in COVID on the Peninsula many of the teams participated in “Walk Where You Are” as an alternative to the typical Walk event.
We met in the old JCPenny’s parking lot and walked down Washington to Sequim Avenue, crossed a couple of streets, meandered thru the Sequim Farmers and Artisans Market, then headed back down Washington to our starting point.
With our purple feather boas, tinsel, tutus, tiaras, sunglasses, pom-poms, four-legged friends and more, we definitely got quite a bit of attention and honks. We had a great time and accomplished our goal of raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association as well as increasing awareness of this devastating disease.
