Michael Bunnell, Franchise Owner

Michael Bunnell, Franchise Owner

The Home Instead Senior Care franchise office is located in Greenwood, IN and serves Johnson, Morgan and Shelby counties. Mike decided to open the Home Instead Senior Care franchise because of his desire to serve the senior population in a meaningful way and provide much needed services in Johnson, Shelby and Morgan Counties.

Mike is a proud Hoosier, and enjoyed a 35+ year career as an accomplished executive in the healthcare technology industry working for Fortune 100 companies such as Hewlett-Packard Medical Products Group, Siemens Medical, and Respironics. After his successful corporate career he established his own consulting practice focused on helping small to medium sized companies with strategic growth planning and product commercialization strategies. His career has included experiences with technologies and system products that crossed the complete care continuum; critical care through home care. His consulting engagements and experiences in the homecare and sleep medicine markets led him back to Indy and his HISC franchise acquisition.

Mike has three children ages 33, 31, and 27. He has been actively involved in all the communities he has lived in over the past 40+ year serving on various foundation boards, BSA committees, athletic organizations, and local church and school boards.

Matthew (Parker) Bunnell - Recruitment and engagement coordinator

Parker is responsible for the recruitment, screening, hiring, and engagement of the caregivers in order to ensure that Home Instead provides the highest quality of service to our clients. Within this role, he also takes on the responsibilities of HR and adherence to our policies.

Before Home Instead, Parker attended the University of Vermont where he played Division One lacrosse for the Catamounts. He has since transitioned and utilized his experience in a team environment and translated that within the office and our team here.

Rebekah Bower - Director of Operations

Rebekah is responsible for performing all client care consults and assessments of current and oncoming clients. She meets with community liaisons to help change the face of aging. Rebekah oversees scheduling caregiver and client relations, education and skills training, and quality of care being provided to our clients. 

Before Home Instead, Rebekah was caring for seniors for 8 years in a caregiving role and in a management role. She came aboard in 2018 as the Business Developemnet Manager. Now, we are proud to have her as Home Instead's Director of Operations. Rebekah and her significant other have 3 children and 1 beagle together. They enjoy going on adventures as a family to spend quality time with one another. 

Lauren (Abbey) Ketchem - Administrative Assistant

Abbey cared directly for our clients for 1 year before taking on her role in the office as the administrative assistant. She is now our Scheduling Coordinator. 

Before Home Instead, Abbey received her Bachelor's degree at Indiana University East in Richmond, Indiana. Outside of Home Instead, Abbey and her significant other enjoy spending time with their two dogs and doing DIY projects around their home. 

Laura Eckert - Training and Education Coordinator

Laura began her journey as a caregiver for 7 years. She is now our Community Training and Education Coordinator. She is responsible for assigning online courses and conducting in house training for new and existing caregivers. 

Before Home Instead, Laura was a scheduling coordinator for another local home care agency. Laura enjoys spending time with her children and rescuing animals in need. 

 

Samantha Means - Administrative Assistant

Samantha began her career here at home instead in 2022 after she graduated from Indiana University. She assists at the front desk and with digital marketing. Samantha enjoys caring for her plants and spending time with her family.

She began her caregiving career in 2013 while caring for her dear friend with a terminal illness. When the position at Home Instead became available, Samantha knew this would be the place where she can help others.
