Looking back 10 years ago as my mother was reading the daily paper one morning, she stated to me “Michelle, this job ad for Home Instead sounds just like you.” This was my first acknowledgment of Home Instead and I immediately applied for the assistant administrative position. In May 2011, I walked in the front door of the office and started my career with Home Instead.
Throughout my career with Home Instead, my job responsibilities evolved to my current position of Client Care, HR & Finance Manager, and in this time, I have learned meaningful life lessons from CAREGivers, former staff, clients, and the DeLauter Family. Most recently, my role has a greater focus on client care which entails meeting new clients and their families to discuss the benefits of Home Instead services and matching new clients with one or more of Home Instead's dedicated and professional CAREGivers.
Working in the community with our clients is highly satisfying and rewarding. Working with seniors who need our care and watching their health and emotional wellbeing improve once our services have started is very fulfilling for me. And on the flip side, I find it very gratifying and rewarding to be involved in the care of a client during their last days of their life.
My career at Home Instead is without a doubt the most gratifying and rewarding work that I have done in my entire working career. I do not consider this work; it is a mission and pleasure to assist our clients to remain in their homes and support their families throughout the caretaking journey. It is an honor and pleasure to be a valued part of the Home Instead Lewisburg family and I know this is my forever career.
