At Home Instead of Beatrice, NE, our caregivers are dedicated to improving their skills to better serve our clients. Recently, we had a Care Professional Quarterly Meeting that provided a unique and insightful experience, shedding light on the challenges faced by seniors in our community.
During the meeting, our caregivers engaged in a dementia simulation, experiencing firsthand the daily struggles of seniors through a series of tasks while wearing specialized equipment to simulate various impairments. The meeting also featured an exciting Short Term Memory Recall game, with Kristi being our winner during the 10 am session.
There was one oversight that proved to be humorous and educational at the same time. Lea meant to have our group open their earplugs before putting on the arthritis gloves, but instead, our team had to struggle, adding an extra layer of challenge. It also highlighted the reality of the difficulties our seniors encounter daily.
