Wheelchair Whitetails, the Nonprofit Organization of Franchise Owner Steve Nooyen, Featured in New Article

For more than 20 years, franchise owner Steve Nooyen and his wife, Kristi, have committed themselves to stewarding their God-given resources to give the young, elderly and disabled quality outdoor experiences. They harness their love of fishing, hunting, hiking, biking and all things outdoors to give back and make a difference in the lives of others. One way they do this is through their nonprofit organization, Wheelchair Whitetails.

Thanks to them, deer hunters and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages find Love (v) in the most remote places, like the quiet Wheelchair Whitetails grounds nestled in the vast Wisconsin woodlands near Niagara.

There in the Northwoods, on brisk fall afternoons, Steve and Kristi give those who are wheelchair bound a unique opportunity to, once again, participate in deer-hunting expeditions and enjoy a pastime that might otherwise be forced to be pushed aside.

In addition to the thrill of the hunt, Wheelchair Whitetails guests — who must apply for admission into the program — often find themselves rediscovering themselves, nurturing their faith in and relationship with God, and connecting with new friends by firelight. Whether or not one’s hunt results in a deer harvest, it is usually these intangible benefits of a weekend on the Wheelchair Whitetails grounds that leave indelible marks on the guests long after they bid farewell and head down the winding driveway.

Recently, MARQ magazine — a publication by Steve’s alma mater Marquette University (Milwaukee, Wis.) — featured Wheelchair Whitetails and Steve’s spiritual journey.
