About Us
Meet Our Home Care Team
Andrea S

Andrea Sussman, MSW, CDP, CADDCT, Owner & Executive Director

Andrea is a licensed social worker with extensive experience in the senior health care field. Her previous positions include Director of the Special Care Unit at Waterview Nursing and Rehab Center, and Director of the Geriatric Care Coordination Program at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Ms. Sussman received her Master's Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Gerontology from New York University.

Andrea founded the Morris County office of Home Instead in April of 2000. Through her work experiences, she saw the huge need for seniors to secure services such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders and safety supervision so that they could remain independent in their own homes. Once Andrea learned about the franchise opportunity with Home Instead, she was off and running in building her business.

Andrea is a hands-on owner who brings her rich knowledge of senior care issues, together with her compassionate approach to business, to the office each day. Her strong and dedicated leadership results in the wonderful customer experience that our clients have enjoyed for over 20 years.

Andrea co-owns and directs Home Instead of Morris County with her husband, Steve Sussman. Together they raised their four children, who are all now adults. They enjoy family time as well as reading, boating, going to live music concerts, and relaxing on the beach.

Steve S

Steve Sussman, Owner & Executive Director

Along with his good sense for business, Steve brings with him an undeniable passion for Home Instead. With over 30 years of sales and business management under his belt, Steve’s knowledge and experience are important aspects of our office. He holds a degree in Broadcasting from Arizona State University. Steve is an enthusiastic and committed franchise owner who is always eager to provide solutions to our clients, their families and prospective clients as well. He works hard every day to keep Home Instead as the leader in senior home care services in Morris County.

Steve is married to his wife Andrea, and together they bring a unique team approach to running their Home Instead franchise. In his spare time, Steve is an active member of his synagogue, enjoys music and traveling, and along with Andrea, helped to raise their four children and their dog, Baxter.

Donna Ambrose 2023

Donna Ambrose, RN, Nurse Supervisor

Donna is a top-notch, skilled, board-certified registered nurse. Driven by a desire to help those in need navigate our often-complex health care system, she takes pride in providing the best care possible. Completing her nursing degree at Framingham Union Hospital School of Nursing in Massachusetts, Donna began her nursing career working in Pediatrics and Child/Maternal Health units. Over the years she began working in the Critical Care unit where she could advocate for her patients while they were dealing with life-threatening illness and injuries.

Donna’s career eventually led her to home care and hospice nursing, where she has now been working for over 18 years. She has held many positions over the years in hospice care such as Clinical Director and Director of Marketing, but she finds that her favorite role is working as a Case Manager at her client’s bedside in the home, supporting both client and family through the end-of-life stage.

Donna’s responsibilities as a Nurse Supervisor/Case Manager at Home Instead include client assessments and care planning, and supervising our Care Professionals in the field. Her outgoing, caring and compassionate nature makes this a great fit for both Donna and our agency. Donna enjoys cooking, reading, and walking in her spare time, and especially spending time with her French Bulldog and her grandchildren.

Amy Sillito 2023

Amy Sillito, BSN, RN, Nurse Educator

Amy joined our Home Instead team in April 2023 as our Nurse Educator, hired to teach our Professional Caregiver training program to those just entering the caregiving field. She received her initial nursing license in 2006 and obtained her BSN in March 2023.  Amy has worked in the Med/Surg unit at Morristown Medical Center since 2006 and has been certified as a Medical/Surgical Nurse (CMSRN) since 2010. Additionally, she has experience as a nurse in the hospital emergency department, rehab facilities, home care agencies and as a vaccinator during COVID.

After working in the home care field for a few years, Amy found she possesses a love for teaching which shines through in her role as Nurse Educator. She designed a CHHA training program approved by the Board of Nursing and Department of Education of New Jersey which not only teaches our students the fundamentals of being a Certified Home Health Aide, but also allows for plenty of support and fun along the way.  Amy’s hobbies include reading and gardening. Married with three children, Amy is proud to be part of three generations of strong nurses.

Baxter, Office Dog

Remembering Baxter…

Baxter, our beloved office dog, passed away recently. Belonging to our owners Andrea & Steve, Baxter filled our office, as well as their home, with joy and all of our hearts with love. His silly antics and wagging tail always brought a smile to our faces even during the most challenging work day. Baxter eagerly joined us for events such as our local Alzheimer’s Walk and caregiver events. He had boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm for all things Home Instead, and we all miss him greatly. Rest in peace, Baxter!
