Meet Our Team

I am thrilled to be the owner of the Fort Wayne Home Instead Franchise. I have always been drawn to entrepreneurial adventures especially ones that combine business with meaning and purpose. My professional life to date has been a combination of business ventures and mission-oriented adventures. It is an absolute joy to be part of the mission to expand the world's capacity to care. On the personal front, I have been married to Ellen since 1995 and we have three kids, Lindley, Mallory, and James. At the moment, life is full of kids’ activities ranging from soccer to clarinet to tennis. I enjoy running, soccer, and just about any new adventure that comes my way.

Mary Hopkins can't get enough of Home Instead.  She started as a caregiver in 2007 and then came back as a summer temporary in 2018.  She finally came into the office full-time in May 2019.  Mary is our current Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator and loves training new caregivers.  "Caregivers are the backbone of this mission and I love the dedication and commitment that each of them brings to our team.  Home Instead is more than a place to work. This is where God planted me, and I try to grow more and more each day."  Originally from Michigan, Mary is married to her husband Gary of 40 years, has 3 grown children, 7 grandchildren, likes to knit, and loves winter!  

Chris Binkley has worked in the Senior Community for most of her career. She started at Home Instead in the fall of 2008 as a full-time CAREGiver. She was promoted to the office staff in the winter of 2009 as the Service Coordinator.

Currently, she is our Service Coordinator and the leader of our Mentoring Program. She states, “I have always loved Seniors. They can teach us so much wisdom if we just slow down and listen.” Chris is married to her loving husband Monty, and is a Faith filled woman who loves the Lord. She has 3 adult children and 5 blessed grandchildren. She is an avid reader and can be found browsing books at the local bookstore in her free time.

Hi! I'm Paige Gurney! My husband, Ryne and I have been married since 2017. We have a beautiful little girl named Juno along with a golden retriever and three cats. My career in healthcare started when I was 18 years old, I became a certified nursing assistant and a qualified medication aide five years later. I have worked in Assisted Living, Long Term Care and Memory Care for the last 12 years. My passion is Alzheimer's and dementia care. I was a Memory Care Coordinator and a Life Enrichment Director throughout the pandemic. I grew up being around the elderly through my mother and grandmother, both amazing nurses who have taught me everything I know about showing compassion and love to those who we care for. I truly believe that I was put on this earth to be a caregiver and to care for those who need to be loved and respected.

Melinda joined the Home Instead team in May of 2023 with 9 years of experience working with Seniors in all levels of care in the residential community setting.  She is very excited to help seniors stay in their own home, and to be able to offer our clients and their families a safe alternative. Her role is to help build referrals to Home Instead from partnering agencies such as rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing, rehab to home programs, and home health and hospice agencies.  I am the first person to meet and get to know our prospective clients to see what their needs are and how we can meet those needs. On a personal front I have a beautiful golden retriever that enjoys daily walks around our neighborhood. I enjoy playing golf (although I do not play well), reading, and any time I can spend time at a lake is a good day. 

Megan joined the Home Instead team at the end of April 2023 as the Office Coordinator. She graduated from Grace College in May 2022 and received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology. Previously, she worked as an RBT at Partner’s in Autism and a Psychometrist at Fort Wayne Neuropsychology. Megan has always loved seniors, ever since her first high school job as a wait staff in a nursing home. She has a huge heart for others, and one of the most important things for her is to love others just like God loves us. Megan has been with her boyfriend Jacob for 7 months now, and recently went on their first vacation together at Disney World. She has two little dogs, a 12-year-old Maltese named Haley, and a 2-year-old Havanese named Marley. Megan has a huge passion for dance, and a love for traveling. And of course, she loves anything that has to do with Disney.

McKenzie is a new addition to the Home Instead team. She first joined the Home Instead Bloomington Klipsch team as a caregiver during her undergraduate studies at IU, where she graduated in May 2022 with a Biology Degree. After deciding to pursue a passion of hers in hair care and business, she moved back home to Fort Wayne to start classes at Ravenscroft to obtain a cosmetology license. She then joined the Home Instead Fort Wayne team as an On-Call Coordinator in October 2023 and has loved being part of the team since. McKenzie is very close with both of her grandmothers and has been raised valuing the time spent with elderly and all the gems that can be gleamed from them! 

Hello everyone! I am Stephanie! I joined the Home Instead Team at the end of December 2023 as the On Call Coordinator. I have always had a passion for healthcare which led me to obtain my master’s degree in Business Administration and Healthcare Management from Western Governor’s University. I get to fulfill this passion by ensuring our clients are cared for and treated like family members and not just a number in the healthcare system. Speaking of family, my husband Scott and I have been married since 2015. We have amazing twin children, Lyla and Raidyn, who keep us on our toes. We also have two fur babies, Lil Pup, our white husky, and Charlie, our Golden Retriever. We also have two horses, Geraldine and Butters. We love spending time together as a family, traveling, and caring for our mini farm.
