Erica Newman, Owner

Erica Newman, Owner

Erica joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2006 as a Quality Assurance Representative. Since then, she has held several positions within her career at Home Instead Senior Care including Human Resources, Human Resources Manager, Office Manager and General Manager. Erica became the owner of Home Instead Senior Care in 2020, purchasing the company from George and Sandra Smith who entered retirement from a successful 20-year reign in 2019. Erica's goal is to build a strong, trusting relationship with each client and provide quality senior in home care you can rely on for your loved one. Erica's is responsible for successfully directing and coordinating all activities in the franchise for the growth and development of the business.​ Erica is a wife and loving mother to Wesley and Makayla. She enjoys cooking, knitting and crafting in her free time.

Michelle Miller, General Manager

Michelle Miller, General Manager

Michelle joined Home Instead Senior Care as a CAREGiver in 2011. She was then transitioned to Staff Coordinator within her first year of employment. Michelle has held several positions within her career at Home Instead Senior Care including Human Resources, Human Resources Manager and Office Manager. Michelle has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology Degree from the University of Virginia's College at Wise, Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare Management from King University and Master of Business Management Degree in Healthcare Management from King University. Michelle took on the role of General Manager in 2020. She is responsible for successfully directing and coordinating all activities in the franchise for the growth and development of the business. Michelle is a loving wife. She enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors in her free time.

Jeanie Patterson, Registered Nurse & Home Health Aide Training Instructor

Jeanie Patterson, Registered Nurse & Home Health Aide Training Instructor

Through her 45 years of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse, Jeanie has gained a vast amount of knowledge in the senior care field. Jeanie has worked in all clinical areas including provided medical management for catastrophic injuries, job placement for the disabled and marketing for a private rehabilitation company. In September 2013, Jeannie became a member of our Home Instead Senior Care team in the role of Registered Nurse. Using her first-hand experience, Jeanie trains our Caregivers to become Home Health Aides. She uses a hands-on approach to teach many skills ranging from proper hand hygiene techniques to caring for a bed bound client. Along with training, Jeannie helps with client needs assessments and quality assurance visits. Jeanie is a loving mother to JB. She enjoys cooking and reading in her free time.

Betty Burns, Service Coordinator

Betty Burns, Service Coordinator

Betty joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2011 as a Caregiver. She then moved to working in the office in her current position as Staff Coordinator within her first year of employment. Betty's main responsibilities are to effectively and quickly handle staffing and scheduling of our clients and CAREGivers as well as to act as the Case Manager of assigned clients.

She is responsible for understanding our client's needs and matching them with the most appropriate CAREGiver. She also schedules care services and councils CAREGivers when necessary making sure that we are providing the care that each of our client's needs. Betty is a loving mother to AJ, Chloe and Preston. She enjoys spending time with her children in her free time.

Amanda Castaneda, Service Coordinator

Amanda Castaneda, Service Coordinator

Amanda joined Home Instead Senior Care in July 2013 as a CAREGiver. Amanda obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix. Amanda then moved to working in the office in her current position as Staff Coordinator. Amanda's main responsibilities are to effectively and quickly handle staffing and scheduling of our clients and CAREGiver's as well as to act as the Case Manager of assigned clients. She is responsible for understanding our client's needs and matching them with the most appropriate CAREGiver. She also schedules care services and counsels CAREGiver's when necessary making sure that we are providing the care that each of our client's needs. Amanda is a loving wife and mother to Giovanni and Areyli. She enjoys spending time with her children in her free time.

Paula McBride, Human Resources

Paula joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2019 as Human Resources. Paula came to us with 15 years' experience as a General Manager from a high-end retail store. Paula is responsible for the hiring process for new CAREGiver applicants including background, reference and drug screens, interviews, orientation and training. Paula excels at selecting well-rounded, high quality Caregiver's to meet the needs of our clients. ​Paula is a loving mother to Tyler, Abel and Lillie. She enjoys spending time with her family in her free time.

Stephanie Pell, Human Resources

​Stephanie joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2019 as Human Resources. Stephanie obtained her Practical Nurse Licensure from Walter's State Community College. Stephanie came to us with an LPN background working with seniors in a clinical primary care setting. Stephanie is responsible for the hiring process for new CAREGiver applicants including background, reference and drug screens, interviews, orientation and training. Stephanie excels at selecting well-rounded, high quality Caregiver's to meet the needs of our clients. Stephanie is a loving wife and mother to Mason and Marlee. She enjoys spending time with her family in her free time.

Max Chesser, Administrative Assistant

Max joined Home Instead Senior Care as a CAREGiver in 2018. Max is a Registered Nursing student at East Tennessee State University. Max was transitioned to an office staff member as an Administrative Assistant in 2019. Max's responsibilities include performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties in order to provide the highest quality of service to our CAREGiver's and clients. Max enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors in his free time.

Cheyenne Collier, Administrative Assistant

Cheyenne joined Home Instead Senior Care as a CAREGiver in 2018. Cheyenne obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology Degree from the University of Virginia's College at Wise. She was then transitioned to an office staff member as an Administrative Assistant in 2019. Cheyenne's responsibilities include performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties in order to provide the highest quality of service to our CAREGiver's and clients. ​Cheyenne enjoys reading and gardening in her spare time.

Kelli Ward, Home Care Consultant

Kelli joined Home Instead Senior Care in December of 2018 as a Home Care Consultant. Kelli obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training from Emory and Henry College. Kelli comes to us with 9 years of health education and 2 years in recruitment experience. Kelli is responsible for researching and pursuing new referral sources and enhancing and maintaining relationships with existing referral sources. ​Kelli is a loving wife to Jerad and mother to Camden and Emersyn. Kelli is the worship leader at Highlands Fellowship and enjoys singing and spending time with her family.
