To Us, It’s Personal®

Our founders, Paul and Lori Hogan, launched Home Instead in 1994 to provide care to Paul’s 90-year-old grandmother. Remarkably, after she began receiving personalized, care that allowed her to age safely in the place she loved most – the family home – Grandma Manhart thrived for an additional decade!

In August 2021, Home Instead joined forces with Honor, the leading home care service company providing the most human-centric technology and operations platform. Together, we’ve created a global company that’s expanding the world’s capacity to care. Drawing on our complementary areas of expertise, we will dramatically increase innovation to benefit Care Professionals and Clients around the world.

Serving Dallas Families since 1999

A trip to the bookstore for Dr. Nancy Oppenheimer-Marks changed everything.  It was there among the stacks of fiction she spotted a magazine cover touting Home Instead Senior Care and its franchising opportunities.

At the time, she was an Associate Professor at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, but the recent loss of her parents and changes to her job obligations had her thinking about her true calling in life. Watching her parents age had been difficult, and it reinforced the notion that both senior care and advocating for seniors were very important to her.

She and her husband discussed the opportunity to buy the central Dallas franchise, and agreed it was the right thing for Nancy to do. She opened her Central Dallas location in 1999 and never looked back.

Nancy’s passion for advocating and helping seniors and their loved ones make good decisions about their care has expanded over the years to include her office staff of seven and the numerous CAREGivers who take great pleasure in providing excellent care to each and every client. To us, it will always be personal.
