Morgan Bilodeau, Client Care Coordinator
“Engagement. Listening. Understanding. Empathy. Relationships. Strong connections. Bonding. Teamwork.” Ask Morgan about the keys to being her Home Instead® franchise’s client care coordinator, and her easily flowing answers are numerous and comprehensive.
“I go to the homes and do the initial care consultation with the client and his or her family. I listen to the challenges and impacts, and I make the recommendation of the type of care needed,” Morgan said. “From there, I keep in contact and follow up, including first-shift CAREGiver-client introductions. I continue to engage with the family as I am the primary liaison. I want them to be happy with the Quality of Care.”
Morgan further explained: “I love the genuine interaction and conversations with clients. I learn their stories and family history. I build relationships with my clients and receive support from the management and operation staff. It is a team affair, and I love it. The teamwork is awesome. All in all, the experience is amazing and humbling.”
Morgan joined the award-winning Home Instead franchise in November 2020. She had heard about the job opportunity from a friend who is a former Home Instead owner. “My goal is to learn and grow in the home-care industry and support the growth of our community reach. I just want to get better and better. I want to get to know the clients and their families and build strong bonds,” said Morgan, who had worked for the past five years with special-needs children for a school district.
Morgan has helped elderly family members, but she said, “In the clearest sense of the phrase, I was not necessarily ‘a family caregiver.’ During the spring breaks and summer, I helped my grandmother with planting and picking vegetables. I love being around grandparents.” In high school, the Louisiana native looked at becoming a physical therapy assistant.
Morgan and her husband have two sons, 11 and 8, who keep busy with baseball. “We live close to our parents. We are five minutes’ driving distance from the grandparents. We have lots of siblings. We were involved in lots of family activities before COVID-19. Family time is big for all of us. Relationships always have been super important.”
