About Us

Angie McCulloch, Client Services Manager

Angie McCulloch, Client Services Manager


Angie has been with Home Instead since 2007. As the Client Services Manager, it is Angie's job to select CAREGivers for clients and manage their schedules. She works very hard to match clients and the level of care required to their CAREGivers. With Angie staffing, no shift goes unfilled. Prior to working with Home Instead, Angie had seven years’ experience operating and managing retail stores. There she was responsible for managing employee schedules, hiring, training, and orientating new employees.

Angie is originally from Romania, but has called this area home since she was sixteen. She is married to a Cook County Sheriff's Deputy and has four children. Angie's hobbies include bowling, bike riding, and spending time with her family.

Angie has a contagious laugh that can brighten anyone's day.​

Colleen McGuinn, Client Care Manager

Colleen McGuinn, Client Care Manager


Colleen has been with Home Instead for fifteen years. Colleen holds a degree in Business Marketing. She previously worked as an Advertising and Sales Consultant. When her own father became ill, Colleen quit her job in a sales and marketing career to become the primary family caregiver. Colleen found this role so rewarding that she took a part-time job as a caregiver with Home Instead.  Colleen was quickly promoted to the Client Care team for 7 years. She received her certification as a Certified Senior Advisor in 2010. Colleen was promoted to Home Care Consultant in June 2016. In 2017, Colleen was again promoted to lead the team of Client Care Managers. She ensures that families receive the care they need to acheive their goals.

Colleen has three children and one granddaughter. She enjoys walking, reading, and attending her granddaughter's sporting events.​

Cheryl Maples, Client Care Manager

Cheryl joined our team of Client Care Managers during the COVID-19 pandemic. In her role, Cheryl assesses prospective clients, creates care plans that achieve the clients’ goals, introduces and supervises caregivers and performs quality assurance visits.

Cheryl was born and raised on the southwest side of Chicago. Early in her career, she worked for a bank and a manufacturing company in the city. Family is important to Cheryl and she took off time to raise her family. She returned to her career 4 years ago at a senior residential care facility. Senior care attracted her as a career choice after seeing the immense joy her grandparents got from spending time with her five children. Cheryl made it a point to build daily routines so the older and younger generation developed deep bonds. Cheryl enjoys spending time with her family. Her two youngest children are twins.

Kelly Hutchison, Owner

Kelly Hutchison, Owner


Kelly experienced caregiving firsthand for his father, a WWII decorated Army veteran, who passed away in the family farmhouse in 1999. That experience opened his eyes and heart to the challenges families face when caring for their senior.

Kelly has worked in the health care industry for 20 years. He began his career as a business consultant, helping large health care providers design and implement business strategies and improve operations. That experience helps him quickly assess problems and implement solutions. He is very proud of his trusted relationships with Home Instead's CAREGivers and is inspired by their compassion.

Kelly brings his compassion for seniors, dedication to his CAREGivers, and business insight to work every day.

Alina Merrill, HR ManagerAlina Merrill, HR Manager

Alina Merrill, HR Manager


Alina Merrill has been with Home Instead since 2008. Previously, she worked as a Activity and Volunteer Coordinator for Sunrise Church Creek. Alina received her degree in Psychology from the West University of Romania. Her experience working with volunteers at Sunrise Church Creek and her personality made her a great fit as a Staffing Manager here at Home Instead. Alina became excellent at determining which CAREGiver would be the perfect fit for our clients. She is sensitive to client needs and has developed strong bonds with our CAREGivers.

Alina was promoted to Manager of Human Resources in 2017. In this role, Alina manages our recruiting, hiring, retention and payroll processes.

Alina and her husband Mike have a son, Darien and daughter, Ariana. In her spare time, she enjoys creating custom-made jewelry, shopping, and keeping fit and healthy with yoga.

Nancy Santiago, Receptionist

Nancy Santiago, Receptionist


Nancy is the Receptionist with Home Instead.  She worked as a Staffing Consultant for years in temporary staffing agencies, finding professional, experienced workers for business clients. She honed her skills in customer service, listening and uncovering needs. She joined Home Instead in 2019.

Her easy-going manner, quick laugh and ability to stay cool make her a terrific fit for our professional and high energy team. Nancy is a long-time resident of Elk Grove Village. She is fluent in Spanish and loves to cook and dance. She enjoys family time and is a proud mother of four children, four granchildren and two terrific dogs.

Lidia Lisowski, Staffing Manager

Lidia Lisowski, Staffing Manager


Lidia is a Staffing Manager at Home Instead. She enjoys the challenge of understanding exactly what her clients need and want and then she works to find just the right caregiver to help each family. For many years, she worked as a nanny. Each family had Lidia for many years. In fact, you can say she raised 2 different sets of children! She loves those children and they love her to this day.

Lidia last worked as quality control at a medical device manufacturer. Her order fulfillment job required attention to a multitude of details, customer needs and regulator controls throughout each fast-paced day! She is originally from Poland and enjoys spending time with her two young boys and husband. She also loves to cook and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Laurel Chahir, Staffing Manager

Laurel has been a Staffing Manager with Home Instead since 2020. She joined us during the COVID-19 pandemic and she learned her role quickly, despite difficulties presented by the administrative office closure. Laurel was a Division Manager and a Scheduler with a multi-state home health agency for 5 years. Before that, she taught art to middle school and high school students in Minnesota. Laurel is originally from Minnesota and has lived in the Chicagoland area for 10 years.

Laurel is the proud mother of three children -- 16, 6 and 5 years old. Her husband is from Morocco and she lives in a multi-generational, multi-cultural household.

She is a caregiver to her aging parents and spends as much time as she can caring for them. In her spare time, Laurel enjoys biking, traveling, cooking and photography.

Robbie Bowers, New Client Engagement Coordinator

Marian, known as Robbie, has been with Home Instead for 4 years. After retiring from a corporate career, she wanted to explore a meaningful opportunity. She was attracted to caregiving, as she had always been the family's caregiver.  Robbie began her 'next thing' as a part-time caregiver at Home Instead.  She quickly distinguished herself as friendly, outgoing, responsive and capable. She was promoted to an office role shortly thereafter. For over two years, she handled all aspects of the office administration in an efficient and organized manner. In May 2016, she was promoted to a client-facing role of "New Client Engagement Coordinator".  She now educates all inquires (if you call about services you will likely speak with her!) about our services and helps organize service for new clients.

Robbie's professional background includes 32 years in office management and IT support at Zurich America.  Robbie lives in Carol Stream and has 3 children, 9 grandchildren, 3 cats and 2 dogs. She enjoys spending time with her family, helping her elderly neighbors, going to movies and concerts with her granddaughters, shopping, reading and working with her teammates at Home Instead!​

Cyndi Constertina, HR Recruiter

Cyndi Constertina, HR Recruiter


Cyndi Constertina is our CAREGiver Recruiter. She finds and recruits wonderful, caring people to be compassionate, professional caregivers! Cyndi has a wealth of experience in HR and Recruiting. She worked at United Airlines, where she recruited and trained flight attendants. She has many interesting stories from those days! Cyndi later worked as a corporate trainer for United’s Credit Union and also worked at Baxter Credit Union in customer service.

Cyndi lives in Arlington Heights with her husband. She has two young men in college. She is very involved in her community and volunteers as a Bible Study Leader at St. James School. Her favorite pastime is watching her boys play baseball and tennis.

Sherrie Littrell, Lead Care Giver

Sherrie Littrell, Lead Caregiver


Sherrie has been immersed in caregiving her entire life. Her mother was a nurse and Sherrie grew up knowing how to make a difference in people’s lives. A lifelong caregiver, she has been a CNA for almost 30 years. She and her husband raised 3 boys and 1 girl and now have a 13-year-old granddaughter that is the light of their lives.

As Lead Caregiver, Sherrie assesses clients’ needs, advises families on modifications needed to age in place safely and she trains caregivers. Between her extensive skills and infectious smile, there isn’t a problem Sherrie can’t solve!

In her spare time, Sherrie helps run our Be A Santa To A Senior Program. In this effort, she makes sure the holiday spirit reaches hundreds of less fortunate seniors in our communities and care facilities. Sherrie loves crafts and her nickname is ‘Sugar Sherrie’.

Emilia Kowalczyk, Lead Care Giver

As one of the most successful caregivers EVER at Home Instead, Emilia earned a promotion to Lead Caregiver in February 2019. Emilia was a caregiver to hundreds of clients during 10 years of providing care. She never met a situation or puzzle she couldn't solve. Given the intimacy of caregiving tasks, every success means building trusted relationships - across hundreds of seniors and their families!

Emilia's warm smile and graceful demeanor helps her guide clients to better outcomes.

In her spare time, Emilia enjoys enjoys swimming and exercising. She also volunteers to help people with alcohol and drug dependencies. She also sings second soprano in a choir!

Jane Chew, Book Keeper

Jane Chew, Bookkeeper


Jane comes from an accounting background of 24 years at a globally based publishing company of trade magazines. Since most publishing companies survive on ad-generated revenue, the internet caused Jane to look elsewhere for work and she found Home Instead.

Jane is the proud mother of four married daughters and the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren. She stays very busy trying to attend the grandchildren’s functions, from sporting events to musical recitals!

Susan Poppert, On-Call Coordinator

Susan Poppert, On-Call Coordinator


Susan Poppert is the On-Call Coordinator at Home Instead. This is an essential and difficult role. Susan manages after-hours and weekend emergencies and other short-notice staffing situations. Susan joined Home Instead 5 years ago as a part-time caregiver. Her part-time role soon grew to fill practically every available hour.  As a caregiver, she competently helped seniors with Alzheimer’s, personal care needs, transferring and all household tasks. Seniors love Susan!

Susan’s full-time job is managing a 24-hour call center for a large oil and gas distribution company. Her role provides years of professional experience managing difficult situations over the phone. We are lucky to have Susan!  She lives in Arlington Heights and loves her dogs.

Pepper, Therapy Dog and Office Mascot

Pepper, Therapy Dog and Office Mascot

Pepper was our wonderful, sweet mascot and a volunteer therapy dog at Northwest Community Hospital. As a certified therapy dog, she wagged her tail and helped people forget their condition and surroundings. Pepper passed away peacefully in November 2018 after a healthy, happy life.

Pepper often visited the office and brought smiles to your hard-working office team! Tricks were never her strong suit, but she always shook paws and gave high-fives to everyone.​
