Position Overview

The CAREGiver Mentor is expected to perform a variety of duties to provide support to new CAREGivers, especially as a part of our 90 Days to Success program. The goal of this position is to increase CAREGiver engagement and retention to ensure that our company provides the highest quality service to our clients. The CAREGiver Mentor reports directly to the Learning and Development Manager.

Essential Job Functions

  • Reflect the core values of B & B Launch, d.b.a. an independently owned and operated Home Instead franchise
  • Provide an introduction to the CAREGiver Mentor Program at Orientation
  • Provide technology demonstrations at Orientation and provide follow-up as needed
  • Communicate consistently and in a positive manner with new hires over their first 90 days to provide encouragement, feedback, and development
  • Make occasional mentor visits to CAREGivers in the field
  • Relay all concerns and/or need for additional training to appropriate management
  • Assist with CAREGiver training and appreciation events
  • Work with other members of the team as needed to ensure smooth operation of the office, especially as those operations relate to CAREGiver and Client satisfaction
  • Demonstrate open and effective communication with the franchise owner, colleagues, CAREGivers, clients and family members
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • High school graduate or the equivalent
  • At least one year Personal Care experience
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively
  • Must have the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information and meet deadlines
  • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
  • Must demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness consistent with office standards, practices, policies and procedures
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the senior care industry
  • Must have the ability to organize and prioritize daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly work
  • Must have the ability to establish good working relationships with the franchise owner, office colleagues, CAREGivers and the community
  • Must present a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must have the ability to operate office equipment
  • Must be patient and congenial on the telephone
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in Excel and Word
  • Must have the ability to perform duties in a professional office setting
  • Must have the ability to work as a part of a team
  • Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills
