Melissa Cameron, GNA CAREGiver Selection Specialist

Melissa Cameron, GNA CAREGiver Selection Specialist

Home Instead Senior Care is personal to me because we strive to help seniors in our community live safely at home 24/7. I see seniors strive more when left in a familiar setting such as their home or a loved one’s home. I understand how stressful the aging process can be for both the senior and their loved one. Home Instead Senior Care helps relieve some of that stress. I am happy to work for such a great company that comforts seniors and eases the stress of aging in place.

Melissa was born in California but raised in Florida. At an early age Melissa knew she wanted to help care for others. While other 19-year-olds were avoiding entering the real world, Melissa dropped everything to help care for her aunt and prepare her home after a heart transplant. It wouldn’t be until Melissa’s father became sick and passed away that she would truly know what she wanted to do in life. Melissa joined the Home Instead Senior Care team in 2016 as a CAREGiver. She loves learning more about what seniors are going through and what she can do to help comfort them and their families.

Home Instead Senior Care is personal to me because ever since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to make a difference and help others as much as possible. On a day-to-day basis we get to not only help the clients that we care for, but we get to positively impact our clients, CAREGivers, and our clients’ families. Every day that we get to put a smile on a senior’s face is a successful day. Our clients are a blessing to me each day.

Katie worked as a CAREGiver before being promoted to Immediate Care Specialist, and although she enjoyed being a CAREGiver she was excited for the opportunity to help people from a new perspective. She spent many hours as a CAREGiver filling in when our regular clients’ caregivers had appointments or sudden life changes and could not be there, and every time clients would ask her “Where is my regular CAREGiver?” These clients depend and look forward to having a familiar face and Katie is grateful for the opportunity to keep clients’ regular CAREGivers in their homes every day.
