Brian Huebner - Owner

Brian and his wife, Julie, explored opportunities for a couple years before they decided that Home Instead was the perfect fit for them. They are proud that Home Instead provides them the opportunity to make a positive and meaningful impact on the lives of seniors and their loved ones in the Northwest Valley of the Phoenix metro serving Sun City West, Surprise and the surrounding area. Outside of work, Brian enjoys the great outdoors, especially hiking and biking. He also appreciates live music, traveling and spending time with his parents who live in Sun City West.


Julie Huebner - Owner

Julie Huebner - Owner

After a career in healthcare spanning over 15 years, Julie joined her husband Brian as co-owner of Home Instead in Surprise. She enjoys getting to know other professionals in senior services in and around Phoenix’s Northwest Valley, in order to be a well-informed resource for seniors and their families. She also works with some of our families who are exploring home care, and helps create their plan of care. Outside of work, Julie enjoys hiking, biking, reading, cooking, and exploring Phoenix with friends and family.


Dawn Camarillo- Director of Operations & Client Service

Dawn Camarillo- Director of Operations & Client Service

Dawn joined our team in June 2017 after spending 13 years in numerous roles at a neighboring Home Instead  location. Dawn leads our CAREGiver and administrative teams, and ensures that the day to day functions of Home Instead-Surprise run smoothly. Dawn's vast experience and a deep sense of compassion comes across in each and every phone call, client interaction, and meeting. Outside of work, Dawn enjoys working out and spending time with her kids, grandkids, family and friends.


Tammy Amy-Hazard - Hiring Specialist

Tammy Amy-Hazard - Hiring Specialist

Tammy was born and raised in Seattle Washington. She decided to come to AZ to be close to family and out of the rain. Tammy loves to spend time with her adult children and spouse. She has a few hobbies. She has dabbled in cheese making and just recently took up painting Mandala Stones. Tammy has always been in the line of helping others. This is what drew her to Home Instead. She finds it rewarding to know that she is helping each and every day to fulfill and enrich other's lives. As our Hiring Specialist, Tammy’s primary role is to do everything from reviewing applications to phone screens to interviews (via Zoom these days) to initial onboarding activities.


Janet Shepherd - Training & Onboarding Manager

Janet Shepherd - Training & Onboarding Manager

​Janet is a Southern California native. A few years ago, she came to Arizona looking for a new start and found Home Instead. Janet has a background in education and human services, previously working in early childhood education. While working on her master's degree in human development, that's when Janet decided she wanted to transition to work with older adults. After moving to Arizona and before landing in her current position as training and care coordinator, Janet worked as a caregiver for Home Instead, as well as a preschool teacher and behavioral interventionist. In her current role at Home Instead, Janet oversees the hiring process and provides training for new and existing caregivers as well as assistance with some client care management. Janet is passionate about the environment and reducing waste. She enjoys many hobbies; her favorites being dancing and golf.


Jeff Allen - Front Office Coordinator

Jeff Allen - Front Office Coordinator

Jeff joined the team in late 2019 as the Front Office Coordinator. He greets visitors to the office and on the phone and works at keeping the office organized and running smoothly. A new resident of Arizona transplanted from California only 2 years ago he enjoys the warm weather and being close to family. An animal lover, Jeff currently lives with 2 rescue dogs and enjoys walking and playing with them, he also likes television, bowling and spending time with family and friends.


Carol Vasquez - Back Office Coordinator

Carol Vasquez - Back Office Coordinator

​More than 15 years ago Carol found herself in the same position many people find themselves in today, caring for an aging loved one. It was during this time that she discovered the invaluable importance caregivers play in the lives of seniors each and every day. Her commitment and passion for caring for her mother ultimately led her and her husband to purchase a Home Instead office in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 2018, following 12 successful years providing care for hundreds of families, she and her husband followed their children out West and relocated to Arizona. In May of 2020 she was honored to join the team at Home Instead, Surprise, Arizona and to be able to continue her passion of caring for seniors and their families. In her role as our Back Office Coordinator, Carol assists with numerous behind the scenes tasks as well as answering the phones and greeting visitors.


James White - Client Relationship Coordinator

James White - Client Relationship Coordinator

​James was born and raised in Arizona and left fresh from high school to travel to Great Lakes, IL for US Naval Bootcamp, spending five GREAT years in the US Navy. He returned to Arizona with his wife and three sons after he got out. James started with Home Instead in June of 2019 as a CAREGiver, and loved it! Not long after, in October of 2019, James started as a Scheduling Coordinator in the office, and in September 2020 he was promoted to his current role as Client Relationship Coordinator where he works with everyone involved in the client’s care to ensure that the care plan is followed and kept up to date. He is also the subject matter expert for our homecare tablet. James says his time with Home Instead has been the best work experience he has yet to be a part of.  In his off time James like to take part in woodworking, mountain biking, hiking, and all the time he can get with his three boys.


Alice Mascarenas - Scheduling Coordinator

Alice Mascarenas - Scheduling Coordinator

Alice was born and raised in Farmington NM. In 2020, she decided to come to Arizona to be close to family. Alice loves spending time with her family, hiking and running. As a Scheduling Coordinator, this has been a rewarding career change for her. Helping to match clients with caregivers and what Home Instead does is very rewarding.


Adrienne Dowland - Client Care Coordinator

Adrienne Dowland - Client Care Coordinator

Adrienne has 13+ years medical experience in the Sun City and Surprise communities. She is very happy to be a part of the Home Instead team because not only do they respect and care about the community they serve but they also put that same loving energy into their team members! She started in our scheduling department in the spring of 2020 and in October 2020 was promoted to her current position as a Client Care Coordinator where she meets with clients to assess their needs, builds out a plan of care and then monitors their progress ongoing. Outside of work Adrienne enjoys all outdoor activities including hiking the White Tank mountains, kayaking on Lake Pleasant, and camping in Greer with family, friends, and her dog!


Janet Baumgarten - Senior On Call Coordinator

Janet Baumgarten - Senior On Call Coordinator

After moving here from New York in 2016, Janet started working for Home Instead in January 2017. Home Instead in Surprise is the third office Janet has worked for and what a wonderful company to be associated with. As our Senior On Call Coordinator, Janet works after hours "on call" evenings and weekends to help clients and CAREGivers with any of their needs for cancellations or shift changes. She also helps CAREGivers with directions so they can get to their client's homes and walks them through any issues they may have. Outside of the office Janet enjoys spending time with family, friends and her grandchildren. Her passions are cooking, dancing and fishing.


Dee Betsinger - Lead Scheduling Coordinator

Dee Betsinger - Lead Scheduling Coordinator

​Dee is a Minnesota native who moved to Arizona in 2017 upon retiring as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer.  She enjoys interacting with seniors and started with Home Instead Senior Care of Surprise as a CAREGiver before joining the office team as a scheduler. Dee works on making great matches between clients and CAREGivers, ensuring a compatible CAREGiver with the right skills is scheduled with each client. She is married, has 2 adult children - Daughter in Naples, FL & Son in Graduate School in Maryland - but still has 1 big baby at home – 95 lb Labrador Retriever “Miss Chloe” who still rules the roost!  Dee LOVES traveling, motorcycle riding, football, fishing, music and golf!
