Caregiver of the Quarter

  1. Home
 Home Instead Caregiver

A tradition of great caregiving means that we take care of our own as well as we take care you and your family.

We reward our local CAREGivers with CAREGiver of the Quarter awards to show our appreciation for all they do. Home Instead, Inc. also recognizes regional CAREGivers of the Year and one special CAREGiver who shows exceptional dedication is the recipient of the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.

This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence. It creates a sense of pride and rewards their hard work, compassionate care and service to others.

We are thrilled to introduce our outstanding award winning CAREGivers:

Chevon Dennis

Chevon Dennis

Chevon is our first CAREGiver to be recognized TWICE as CAREGiver of the Quarter! She has been with us for nearly two years and during this time has proven that caregiving is her passion. She works hard to raise her children while her husband is deployed, all while caring for her clients with her whole heart. One of her clients hired us temporarily while he was on vacaction, but Chevon did such an amazing job that he has continued our services for over a year now! Many of Chevon's clients request her by name, and she has a caregiving superpower that enables her to handle the hardest clients with the most challenging personalities. Chevon is quick to help out in a pinch to cover shifts, she's fabulous at communicating with the office, and she is truly a team player. We are so excited to recognize Chevon as our Summer 2020 CAREGiver of the Quarter!!

Amy Day

Amy Day

Amy has been as Home Instead CAREGiver for almost three years. She has always been very dependable and reliable. She goes above and beyond in caring for her clients and is always willing to do what she can to help out in a pinch. Amy's personality is steady, level and not easily flustered. At the same time she is great at encouraging her clients and is compassionate in the way she provides care for them. We are so happy to recognize Amy as our Spring 2020 CAREGiver of the Quarter!

Mary Kandeh Macharia

Mary Kandeh Macharia

Mary has been a Home Instead CAREGiver for over a year and her clients just love her! Whenever she comes to the office to visit she is such a bright light with her contagious smile! Mary has a compassionate heart for others and is a great motivator to her clients, encouraging them to do the things that enhance the quality of their lives. We are so grateful for Mary and are excited to recognize her as our Winter 2020 CAREGiver of the Quarter!

Nance Oldfield

Nance Oldfield

Nance Oldfield has been with us for over a year. Her previous career was as an esthetician and she loved making a difference in the lives of her clients. When she retired and moved from Florida to Missouri to be closer to her adult children and grandchildren, she wanted to try something different. Nance has done a wonderful job sharing her heart with her senior clients! She brightens our office with her smile and joyful personality each time she stops by for a visit. We are so thankful for Nance's willingness to step up and help out when needed, even on short notice. Congrats to Nance for being named our Fall 2019 CAREGiver of the Quarter!

Kaitlyn Dobyns

Kaitlyn Dobyns

Kaitlyn has been working as a caregiver with Home Instead for a little less than one year, but with open arms she quickly embraced the seniors she works with. She has won the hearts of each of her clients with her positive demeanor, great disposition and willingness to do whatever it takes to help her clients out. Kaitlyn has great communication with our office and often brightens our day with her visits to the office! We are so grateful for Kaitlyn and her willingness to help out whenever she can.  Congratulations to Kaitlyn for being recognized as our Summer 2019 CAREGiver of the Quarter!

Kelly Stone & Chevon Dennis

Kelly Stone & Chevon Dennis

Kelly and Chevon both began working for Home Instead Senior Care at the end of Summer 2018.  Both have wonderful husbands and large families. Both Chevon and Kelly work other jobs in addition to being CAREGivers for Home Instead.

Chevon not only works two jobs, but she is also "single parenting" all her children while her husband is deployed in the Middle East with the Army!  We are so grateful for her family's service to our country and are even more amazed by how much she is able to do with all that she has on her plate! While most of Kelly's children are now adults, she still has one child at home fulltime.  In addition to being a Jazzercise instructor and working as a CAREGiver, Kelly is also enrolled in Nursing School! We have no idea how she does all of it so well!

Both Chevon and Kelly love people, are enthusiastic, flexible, outgoing and great communicators. Their clients love them and often request that they be on their schedule whenever possible.  Kelly and Chevon were amazing this winter during the snowy and icy weather with taking last-minute shifts when other caregiver's cars couldn't make it on the slippery roads!

This is the first time in almost 6 years that we were not able to narrow our CAREGiver of the Quarter award down to only one recipient!  We are excited to recognize both Chevon and Kelly with the honor of being named our Spring 2019 CAREGivers of the Quarter!!

Margaret Hachman

Margaret Hachman

Margaret has been a Home Instead CAREGiver since the Fall of 2016.  She immediately struck all of us as a wonderful person with a compassionate heart.  She is always willing to step up and help  when planning events that benefit seniors (like babydoll drives and rummage sales).  Margaret was a respiratory therapists for many years and after retirement decided to work part-time as a caregiver.  She loves being UN-retired!!

A wife of a client that she had helped care for said, "She is so compassionate; just a wonderful person.  She was working overnight shifts with my husband, and I noticed immediately that she connects with her patients AND the family, which is so important.  She is personable, friendly and supportive.  She is very helpful to me as well.  A couple of years ago I realized that it was hard for me to drive, and she still keeps in touch with me and even visits with me, helping me with some errands.  When she was helping with Keith and she came on her scheduled time, it was like a friend was coming to visit.  She finds it so easy to connect with people".  We are honored to recognize Margaret as our Winter 2019 CAREGiver of the Quarter!

Krissy McCuen

Krissy McCuen

Krissy has been caregiving with Home Instead for a year and has proven over and over again how caring and compassionate she is towards her clients, and how professional & reliable she is as an employee.  She always puts the needs of her clients ahead of her own and has on many occasions accepted short-notice shifts.  Her clients compliment her genuineness, conscientiousness and ability to think proactively regarding their care as well as being super courteous and always willing to help out!  We are super excited to recognize Krissy as our Autumn 2018 CAREGiver of the Quarter.

Patty Jennings

Patty Jennings

If one of Patty's clients are in the hospital, she makes time out of her own schedule to check in on them and their families.  By doing this, she is creating a relationship with the clients that becomes stronger than ever.  Patty thinks outside the box when there are challenges with the clients, such as freezing their Ensure to make it into a little ice cream sundae, just to make it a little bit more special.

She has clients whose families call us to schedule care that will work around HER schedule.  She has a down to earth way about her and a positive up beat nature that many clients respond to so well. We are proud to recognize Patty as our Summer 2018 CAREGiver of the Quarter!

Crystal Lee

Crystal Lee

Crystal started working as a part-time CAREGiver in the Fall of 2017.  In just a few short months, she realized how much her clients meant to her and decided to become a full-time CAREGiver.  Crystal truly has what it takes to be a great CAREGiver- - she has the compassionate heart, as well as the necessary skills to provide all levels of client care, all while keeping a beautiful smile on her face!  A wife of one of her clients said, "Even though my husband can't speak, she makes him laugh.  And even though my husband can't walk, she gets him to 'dance'!" Crystal has definitely earned the honor of being recognized as our Spring 2018 CAREGiver of the Quarter!

Julie Caples

Julie Caples

Julie has been working as a Home Instead CAREGiver since May 2017.  She has a background in Occupational Therapy, and enjoys outdoor activities, singing & dancing.  Her clients say that she is constantly thinking of ways to meet their needs; that she is very creative in trying new ways to make them comfortable; that she makes a hard job look easy; and that she is very conscientious of what she is doing. Julie is a very dependable CAREGiver and we are happy to recognize her as our Winter 2018 CAREGiver of the Quarter!

Rachel Cranston

Rachel Cranston

Rachel has been caregiving with us for a year now and never ceases to amaze us with her servant’s heart and willingness to go above and beyond for her clients.  Her willingness to step up, many times in last minute situations, has been incredibly helpful.  She has a true caregiver’s heart!  When asked why she would agree to be a backup caregiver on a Sunday morning, when her own husband is the pastor of their church, her answer was, “Isn’t caring for those in need what going to church is really all about?”  We are thrilled to honor Rachel Cranston as our Fall 2017 CAREGiver of the Quarter!!

Missy Klusmeyer

Missy Klusmeyer

Missy has been caregiving with us since March 2017 and immediately impressed us with her compassionate heart, great communication with the office regarding clients’ needs, willingness to go above and beyond in caring for her clients, and eagerness to fill shifts when needed.  She has a servant’s heart and has been delivering Meals On Wheels for years before becoming a caregiver. One of Missy’s clients said, “Missy is very smart, a quick learner, pays attention to my husband, a good communicator & alert to changes, caring, prompt and always on time.  She’s one of my husband’s best CGs.”

Keyana Mapp

Keyana Mapp

Keyana models the values we look for in a CAREGiver: loyalty, dependability, reliability, good communication; great work ethic and a true compassion for serving others.  She is studying to be a lawyer, but definitely has the heart of a caregiver!  Her clients love her and a couple of client’s family members have said, “She’s always on time, efficient in all she does, solves problems to make things run smoothly and has become a huge part of our family. Keyana is lovely, fantastic, patient, and knows just what is needed.” Keyana was recognized as our Spring 2017 CAREGiver of the Quarter.

Jeanne Boedges

Jeanne Boedges

Jeanne has been caregiving with Home Instead for a year, but has been a caregiver to seniors for much longer than that.  Jeanne is very energetic and has lots of spunk and a go-get-'em attitude!  She has a great rapport with her clients and is a great communicator with the office regarding schedule and client needs.  She is always dependable, reliable and is good for her word!  On top of all that, she is a fabulous cook!  We are excited to name Jeanne as our Autumn CAREGiver of the Quarter 2016.

Jane Messman

Jane Messman

Jane has been caregiving for nearly two decades.  She is one of seven siblings, four of whom are caregivers, so it’s definitely a family trait!  Jane is loved by not only her clients, but also her clients’ families!  She did a storyboard with one of her dementia clients, stepped up to provide hygiene care for a hospice client who was in a facility but not receiving the appropriate personal care by the facility staff, made follow-up calls with a medical equipment company for a client, among other clients that she clicked with immediately. Jane is quick to help us out when we’re in a pinch and is great at communicating with the office regarding changes in her clients and their needs.  Jane was recognized as our Winter 2017 CAREGiver of the Quarter!

Gina Hetlage

Gina Hetlage

Gina has been caregiving for over a year.  She has previous experience working in Demonstration Sales (think Costco samples!), as well as in office settings.

Gina has recently found her niche as a caregiver to seniors, and her heart for providing compassionate care is very obvious, not only to us, but to her clients and their family members as well.  After one of her clients passed away, the daughter-in-law was so impressed with Gina's compassionate care that she wrote a heartfelt thank-you note to our office for matching Gina up with her father-in-law.

Gina is on top of communicating with the office and willingly accepts sub shifts when available.  We are grateful for Gina's heart for seniors, as well as her employee work ethics and are happy to recognize her as our Summer CAREGiver of the Quarter 2016.
