Community Services Representative Christina Navarro's senior-care philosophy offers expertise, compassion, comfort and reassurance to those who are seeking help from the award-winning Home Instead Senior Care franchise in Victoria.
"Every time I visit with a family or potential client, I put myself in their shoes, as if I am a member of their family. I want the very best care for their senior loved one," said Christina, who has been a registered nurse for 24 years and joined the Home Instead Senior Care office Sept. 30, 2019.
Christina is an outstanding reference for people who need information about in-home care and other options. "Most of my experience has been in home health care. That background is beneficial in the role I've taken with Home Instead Senior Care. I help people realize they could benefit from the excellent home care we provide. I've worked as a visiting nurse as well as in marketing and education in the nursing field," she said.
Christina is preparing to take on an additional role with the franchise as the Home Instead Senior Care network examines another aspect of care. "At Home Instead in Victoria, we may be offering some RN-delegated tasks such as medication assistance in addition to medication reminders. There are other areas where we could offer extra help, in addition to light housekeeping, meal preparation, companionship, errands and transportation as well as personal care and specially trained dementia care. I am eager to see what the future holds in regard to the health-care realm," Christina said.
Christina's RN expertise is even more beneficial because she has experience with regulations and guidelines related to home-health care, both within a home-care company and those pertaining to government control.
Christina has a family background of medical professionals – her grandmother and mother were medical professionals. "That family history led me to this calling," Christina noted.

Staffing Coordinator Emily Sanchez loves working for Home Instead Senior Care® of Victoria, a company that keeps seniors in their own homes – where they are most comfortable.
Emily is like a great passing quarterback who adeptly selects the open receiver on each play. She finds a CAREGiver for each client, an immense undertaking that Emily coolly handles. "I keep track of each CAREGiver, schedule in a timely manner and confirm the schedules," explained Emily, who began working part time for Home Instead Senior Care in August 2017 and moved into her current position in December 2017, where she has been a success.
"I also consult with the community sales representative regarding new clients and their scheduling needs. I answer each call in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner," added Emily, who has an associate degree in office technology. Emily communicates client and CAREGiver concerns to owner Stephanie Niles or other staff members, and she maintains client and CAREGiver records. Emily finalizes billing and payroll, and files the clients' charts.
Emily and her husband, who have been together for 20 years, live near Morales, and together they have seven adult children and 11 grandchildren. Emily and her retired hubby are awesomely handy – they are building a Barndominium on their 40-acre ranch. "I love to hunt on our property, go fishing, take care of my cows and do Bible journaling," said Emily, who goes to The Ranch Cowboy Country Church in Edna.
One of Emily's favorite Bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11, which says: " 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' "

"I am continually struck by the professionalism, high level of caring and exemplary caregivers that I have met from Home Instead. My mom couldn't live without them, and neither could I.
