At Home Instead Senior Care, we reward our local CAREGivers with
CAREGiver of the Month and CAREGiver of the Year awards to show our
appreciation for all they do. Home Instead, Inc. also recognizes
regional CAREGivers of the Year and one special CAREGiver who shows
exceptional dedication is the recipient of the national award — The Mary
Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.
This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence. It creates
a sense of pride in the fact that the Home Instead Senior CareSM franchise network recognizes, appreciates and rewards their hard work, compassionate care and service to others.
Marcea has been a blessing to her clients. They love
her and rave about what a great CAREGiver she is. Marcea is super sweet and
pleasant to talk to on the phone as well. We appreciate how flexible she is
with changes and how she helps when needed. If her clients cancel she doesn’t
hesitate when asked to pick up a different shift during that time. She is
nothing short of dependable and hard working. Home Instead and their clients
are lucky to have her! Congratulations, Marcea!
Jessica E. is an
extremely hard worker and will help when she can. She is a single mom and
has a full class load and a full work schedule. She seems to be able to
balance it all with integrity and a commitment to succeed. She has gone
through great lengths to rearrange her schedule to better assist her clients.
Her clients adore her ability to be sweet and professional. Clients never have
to worry that Jessica won’t do what she’s asked. We wish we could clone her!
When Liz first
started with Home Instead she was paired with an Alzheimer’s client who was not
very cooperative. Liz worked wonderfully with this client getting her to bathe,
eat, and do her daily activities. Liz goes above and beyond to ensure her
clients have what they need and are taken care of. She is very attentive, and
they love her for it. Her current client has praised her for being a
multi-tasker as well as a go-getter, she does not have to wait for direction to
get things done! We appreciate Liz picking up and accepting last minute shifts
to help the Client Services Department when needed.
recently, Maria worked consistently with a gentleman in Columbia named Edward.
She worked Monday-Friday with him, and at the time he was living at home with
several health concerns, he bounced between over four different rehab
facilities in the area to try and get the care he needed. During that time,
Maria followed him. Every day she would go to wherever he was placed and stay
with him all day so he wasn’t alone. Whether he was just sleeping or playing
Bingo, you could find her right there. During several QA visits I had staff
members from those facilities mention how impressed they were with her.
Recently, Edward passed away. On the day of his visitation and funeral, Maria
stayed at the funeral home with his daughter Susan all day. Susan has no family
in town and Maria was a great support to her.
June's CAREGiver of the Month is Dee. Dee has
worked with her main client - Miss K- since day one of her care and has always
proved to be a great help to the family. She has a deep understanding of
Alzheimer’s and dementia and is motivated to understand, direct, and be patient
with clients who struggle with the disease. She cares for her mom in addition
to caring for her clients, and she treats Miss K. like family. She notices
things Miss K needs and takes it upon herself to purchase them so the family
won't have to make special trips for these items. Thank you, Dee, for your
HEART for seniors.
Ellen has always been a
dependable and trustworthy CAREGiver. She is consistent and always on time.
Several times she has dropped what she was doing last minute to head to
a client to ensure they didn’t go without care. She has stuck it out
during difficult times for the betterment of her client. Clients never have to
worry if what they need done will be accomplished when she’s working for them.
Omaira is the epitome of a GREAT CAREGiver. Since the day she first walked through our doors she has proven that she is the kind of CAREGiver that every client wants in their home. Not only is she the CAREGiver that every client wants, she is the CAREGiver that every Admin wants to clone. She is caring, compassionate, empathetic kind and trustworthy. Omaira has also volunteered for numerous last minute shifts without hesitating. Omaira can always be counted on to chip in. She shares her heart with all of our clients. She is a great mother and a great CAREGiver.
Teresa has done an excellent job at taking initiative in the senior’s homes. She finds comfort in looking around to see what can make a family member’s day just a little better. She’s always there and changes her personal availability to make sure that she can be there when she is called upon. Our clients have endless stories and great things to say about her. Teresa is one of the CAREGivers that can proudly represent what great looks like. She takes time and patience with each senior she cares for. It’s great to have someone like her that started her life in caring for children over many years to taking care of seniors.
Margie is interactive and bubbly with our clients. She goes above and beyond by helping with things that aren’t asked of her. We have been impressed with her kindness. It goes a long way when you’re a CAREGiver. Margie is a person that desires to build trust, take the lead and share her heart 100%. She helps without hesitation when a client needs someone last minute. Margie has the type of personality that can light up the room and make anyone around her happy. She isn’t shy or reluctant to meet new people and make friends. We are thankful to see someone like Margie taking care of our seniors and making a difference in many lives.
