A tradition of great caregiving means that we take care of our own as well as we take care you and your family.

We reward our local CAREGivers with CAREGiver of the Month and CAREGiver of the Year awards to show our appreciation for all they do. Home Instead, Inc. also recognizes regional CAREGivers of the Year and one special CAREGiver who shows exceptional dedication is the recipient of the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.

This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence. It creates a sense of pride and rewards their hard work, compassionate care and service to others.

We are thrilled to introduce our outstanding award winning CAREGivers:

Betty Oliver - CAREGiver of the Year for 2014

Betty Oliver - CAREGiver of the Year for 2014

Betty Oliver is our CAREGiver of the Year for 2014. Betty exemplifies the qualities we look for in our CAREGivers because of her compassion, empathy, and servant's heart. Betty came to Home Instead Senior Care three and a half years ago, shortly after becoming a widow. She said she had become depressed and was praying for God to give her purpose. She claims that God answered her prayers when she found us! She has been a great addition to our CAREGiving team and has even become a part of our family. When a health concern came up within our office family, Betty adopted us for Valentine's Day, bringing roses and a heart-shaped cake to share. Not only has she been caring and loving with our office, she does an exceptional job serving our clients. She has worked with one particular client for 3 years. This client also expressed the feeling that Betty is a part of her family, as they have shared the births of grandchildren and mourned the loss of loved ones together. She explains, "Betty is one of the most devout Christians I have ever met and has been am inspiration to me in so many ways. If not for her, I would not still be in my home. My children always feel better about my being in my home when Betty is here." We are so thankful that our paths have crossed with Betty, and we know that ours and our client's lives are better for knowing her. Thank you Betty for sharing your heart with us!

Mo Lewis, November 2014

Mo Lewis, November 2014

Our CAREGiver of the Month, for her work in November, is Mo! Mo has been caring for older adults since she was about 14 years old. She has always felt that her purpose in life is to help people, so it was an obvious choice for her to come to work with us at HISC. Her favorite part of working with our clients is making them happy each day. In her free time, Mo likes to read books and spend time with her grandmother. Mo is our CG of the Month not only because she is always consistently at her assigned shifts on time, she is also very trusted by each family she works with. Families often report how caring she is, and she quickly comes across as a leader in each home, helping introduce new CGs to her client’s needs and preferences. Mo, we are so happy to have you as part of our team!

Alicia Seymour, October 2014

Alicia Seymour, October 2014

Our CAREGiver of the month for October is Alicia! Alicia started with us earlier this year and has proven to be an exceptionally reliable and caring CAREGiver. Not only is she always on time and at all of her shifts, she also does an amazing job introducing new CGs to her client and his care needs. She is very thorough in explaining the best ways to help her client. Alicia has always enjoyed caregiving and even worked as a caregiver when she lived in California. When she’s not serving our clients, Alicia likes to cook, garden, quilt and do other crafts with her family. In fact, in addition to quilting, she crochets, does needlepoint, and even does wood-working with her kids. Thank you Alicia for all you do with our clients to share your heart!

Wendy Reed, September 2014

Wendy Reed, September 2014

Wendy is our CAREGiver of the month for September. Wendy has been with us since June and is always consistent with her schedule and on-time to all of her shifts! She became a CAREGiver because she had experience with her grandmother who has Alzheimer’s Disease. Her favorite part of CAREGiving is getting to know her clients and their families. In her free time, Wendy likes to spend time with her five grandchildren. Wendy, we cannot thank you enough for the care you provide for your client five days a week! We know she appreciates your dependability and reliability, and we definitely appreciate it as well!

Kim Wenth, August 2014

Kim Wenth, August 2014

Kim is our CAREGiver of the month for her awesome work in August. Not only has Kim continuously been reliable and consistent with her clients, she always works to be on time at her shifts. Kim came to us about 11 months ago, after going through a difficult time with a family loss. She was caring for a private client and just needed someone else to care for, so she found HISC. In her free time, Kim likes to buy produce from the farmers’ market to bring to the soup kitchen. She also loves to feed horses. Kim, we are so thankful for your wonderful heart!
