Michael became involved with Home Instead Senior Care after many years in retail and human resource management, and believes that high quality employees are the root of success for any business.  He began his senior care career at Home Instead Senior Care's Chicago, IL office, managing the staffing and recruiting departments and performing human resource management for all of the CAREGivers in the field.  His time there was spent ensuring that Home Instead's recruiting efforts produced outstanding CAREGiver candidates, developing training and retention strategies that prepared CAREGivers for the challenge of helping seniors with their every need, and working with the client services department to match each client to a CAREGiver who would be sure to exceed their expectations.  After marrying his wife, Ewelina (who had plenty of senior care experience of her own) Michael said goodbye to the Windy City in order to open his own Home Instead Senior Care franchise in Wichita.  With his wife as his partner, and content in the knowledge that Wichita is twenty times more windy than Chicago, Michael set about designing training, compensation and management systems that would make his Home Instead Senior Care franchise second to none in quality in all of Sedgwick County.  Michael spends much of his time in the community, actively working to change the face of aging in Wichita while promoting the Home Instead Senior Care brand.  Michael holds a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management and Development from National-Louis University in Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Texas in Austin. He is also a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR).  ​​He is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors of Senior Services, Inc. of Wichita, and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer's Association of Central and Western Kansas.

Ewelina was raised by her grandparents in her native country of Poland, and their acts of kindness toward her throughout her childhood helped provide focus for her career later in life: a career dedicated to helping give back to the seniors in her community.  She began her career with Home Instead Senior Care in Chicago, IL, interfacing directly with CAREGivers to ensure that they were highly trained and motivated, while working to make sure that they were placed with clients that provided both a challenge and fulfillment.  Later in her tenure at the Chicago office she became the primary point of contact for both existing clients and those who were interested in Home Instead Senior Care's services.  After meeting her husband, Michael (also a Home Instead Senior Care veteran), she decided to take her commitment to helping seniors age in place to the next level by relocating to Wichita, Kansas to open her own Home Instead Senior Care Franchise with her husband as her partner.  In addition to administering her franchise, Ewelina is also the primary contact for our clients and performs their initial consultations, shows up with our CAREGiver to introduce them to their client on the first day of service, and follows up with each client throughout their time with us to ensure that they remain 100% satisfied.  Ewelina holds a Master's Degree in Psychology from National-Louis University and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Sociology from Dominican University, both in Chicago, Illinois. ​​

Sherri Denning, CAREGiver Experience Manager

As CAREGiver Experience Manager for Home Instead Senior Care, Sherri's mission is to ensure that every CAREGiver we hire is supervised, supported and trained to help our clients remain at home (or wherever they call home).  Sherri has a diverse career history including such positions as Cafe Owner, Duck Decoy Sander and DJ Apprentice. Sherri keeps busy with family and their various activities and sports. In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, playing the piano, singing and crocheting.​​

Courtney Farber, Recruitment Manager

Courtney Farber, Recruitment Manager

​Courtney is a Recruiter who works to find talented caregivers who pride themselves on taking care of our clients.  After spending 7 years in retail management she has joined the EM Home Care team to use her knowledge and experience to hire exceptional Caregivers. Courtney is a Wichita native who enjoys gardening, livestock reading books and spending time with family and friends.


Melissa Bynum, Office Coordinator

Melissa Bynum, Office Coordinator

As Office Coordinator, Melissa's role is to ensure the support of all the staff in the office. 

Melissa helps with all daily task activities like staffing, billing, payroll, recruitment, and training.  Melissa has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

from Friends University in Wichita, KS, and after 12 years in the food service distribution business, she transitioned into Senior Care Services. Melissa started as a CAREGiver at Home Instead Senior Care and a few months later she transitioned into the office as the Staff Coordinator.

Melissa is native from Puerto Rico, and moved to Wichita in her early 20's.  In her free time, Melissa spends time with her family, visiting Puerto Rico, gardening and cooking.


Kara Tipton, Home Care Consultant

Kara Tipton, Home Care Consultant

​As a Home Care Consultant, Kara's ensures seniors or anyone who works directly with seniors knows about Home Instead and the services we offer that allow seniors to remain in their homes or wherever they call home for as long as possible. Kara's passion for helping people came from her 11 years in retail management. She graduated from Fort Hays State University with degrees in English Literature and Communication Studies. In her free time, Kara enjoys jogging, cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors with her family.


Whitney Hall, Client Care Coordinator

Whitney Hall, Client Care Coordinator

​As Client Care Coordinator, Whitney provides ongoing customer service and support to the seniors we serve to ensure a quality service for every client to remain in their home and as independent as possible. Whitney's life experience with her own grandparents and the needs they had helped to guide her towards helping others, particularly seniors. Whitney holds a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services from Emporia State University. She is also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and certified in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Whitney spends much of her free time with family and friends, being outdoors, gardening, and volunteering.
