If you’re a family caregiver of an individual with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia, the risk of wandering is one of the potential behavioral symptoms that a loved one could be facing. Wandering could put that person’s safety in jeopardy. Check out the resources of the PreventWandering program to help protect your loved one from the potential dangers of wandering. Support Groups

Home Instead Senior Care in Red Oak is pleased to offer a monthly Family Caregiver Support Group for families living with Alzheimer's Disease. These support groups are designed to offer family caregivers an opportunity to interact with other families living with Alzheimer's disease in a safe and confidential environment.  Our goal is to provide resources and potential solutions to the daily challenges family caregivers face.   Additionally, the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Dallas offers support groups throughout the area.  Click here for a list of Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Groups in the area.


Virtual Dementia Tour 

​Home Instead Senior Care in Red Oak is pleased to offer the Virtual Dementia Tour as part of our ongoing Caregiver education.  In addition, we are proud to offer families in our are the opportunity to experience what living with Alzheimer's may be like.  The Virtual Dementia Tour ® is an individual experience through simulated dementia created for families, organizations and companies seeking to better understand the physical and mental challenges of those with dementia. Memories in the Making

Alzheimer’s Association Memories in the Making is a unique fine arts program for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia. The program allows individuals to use art as a therapeutic medium, with no previous art experience necessary. Check our Calendar of Events​ for upcoming Memories in the Making Sessions that our team facilitates in the area or click here for a list of all the Memories in the Making sessions offered by the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
