A tradition of great caregiving means that we take care of our own as well as we take care you and your family. 

We reward our local CAREGivers with CAREGiver of the Month and CAREGiver of the Year awards to show our appreciation for all they do. Home Instead, Inc. also recognizes regional CAREGivers of the Year and one special CAREGiver who shows exceptional dedication is the recipient of the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.

This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence. It creates a sense of pride and rewards their hard work, compassionate care and service to others.

Peggy King - CAREGiver of the Month August 2017

Peggy King - CAREGiver of the Month August 2017

This is not the first time Peggy has been selected as CAREGiver of the Month and we are confident it won't be her last.  Peggy has been a Certified Home Health Aide with Home Instead Senior Care since July 19, 2016.  She was promoted to Home Health Aide Level 2 in August 2017.  Peggy has successfully cared for over 20 clients, working day, evening, overnight and weekend shifts. 

Peggy is an extraordinary CAREGiver and exemplary employee. She is compassionate, dependable, conscientious, hard-working and takes the initiative to go the extra mile for her clients.  Her clients enjoy her upbeat, positive personality.  She seems to find the right words to help her clients in difficult situations.  

RN Judy Fitzgerald described Peggy as a CAREGiver who "does an outstanding job when caring for her clients.  She is quick to notify the office of any issues or potential problems.  She manages difficult situations well, demonstrates good judgement while reassuring the client.  Clients and family members frequently ask for her by name."

Recently, a client family member said "please send us Peggy as much as possible!  She is so patient and kind to my mother."

Donna is a compassionate, respectful, attentive, proactive and hardworking professional CAREGiver with the perfect heart to serve seniors. She genuinely goes above and beyond for her clients. She actively looks for ways to improve their quality of life. She communicates frequently with the office and takes responsibility and pride in her work. A family member recently told us that “Donna has a special bond with my mother and is so happy when she walks in the door.”

Staffing Coordinator Carol James said that “Donna is a very conscientious person and willing to extend herself to ensure the clients’ well-being. She is always upbeat and doesn’t allow care challenges to get her down. She truly lets her presence be known when she walks into a room. She brings individualism to each client in her care. ”

Supervisor RN Judy Fitzgerald describes Donna as a CAREGiver with a great personality, “her enthusiasm is evident in the care she provides her clients. She is always seeking to increase her knowledge by frequently attending the training offered.”

Sharon has been a Companion/Home Helper CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since March 17, 2016 and a Certified Home Health Aide since April 17, 2016.  She was promoted to Home Health Aide Level 2 (Senior HHA) on May 1, 2017.

Sharon is a conscientious, compassionate, attentive, proactive and hardworking professional CAREGiver with the perfect heart to serve seniors. She is willing to help a client or another CAREGiver on short-notice and has done so within minutes of getting a phone call from the office. A family member recently told us that he “loves Sharon and she is just what his mother needs”.

Staffing Coordinator Carol James said that “Sharon is a CAREGiver that displays exemplary insight with her clients, enabling her to recognize when something is not right with them. ”

Client Care Manager Kimberly Lebel adds that “Sharon is very reliable and dependable. She takes pride in her work she wants to be the best CAREGiver to her client's and to meet their needs. ”

Supervisor RN Judy Fitzgerald describes Sharon as a true professional. “When she has a concern about her clients, she communicates it to the office immediately. She attends as many classes as she can to further her knowledge about her clients. She expresses genuine care and concern for her clients.”

Marcelina has been a Companion/Home Helper CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since March 24, 2015 and a Certified Home Health Aide since April 17, 2016. 

Marcelina is compassionate, professional, flexible, hardworking, upbeat and trustworthy. She works well with her care team members as well as the office staff. Clients often ask for her by name and like her so much that they will sometimes work their schedule around Marcelina’s availability. 

Staffing Coordinator Carol James said that “Marcelina shows a genuine caring spirit for every client she has been assigned. She is meticulous in her attention to detail which enables her to notice important considerations with her clients to provide the best care. Marcelina truly exemplifies the attributes of an extraordinary caregiver.”

Sharon has been a Companion/Home Helper CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since August 24, 2015 and a Certified Home Health Aide since October 1, 2015. This is not the first time Sharon has been selected as CAREGiver of the Month and we are sure it won’t be the last. 

Sharon’s compassion, attentiveness and professionalism makes a genuine difference in the lives of our clients. She has excellent relationships with her clients and family members, including clients with severe age-related dementia or who require complicated care.

Staffing Coordinator Carol James said “Sharon demonstrates herself to be a true team player. She goes above and beyond for her clients. She stays on top of each assignment on her schedule. While on a shift, if there is something that does not seem right, she communicates it to the office as soon as possible. She also displays dedication and commitment when she is with a client. 

Supervisor RN Judy described Sharon as “a CAREGiver that does a great job with all of her clients. She is very observant and often discovers issues with clients that could potentially be a problem if not addressed. She is respectful, responsible, organized and very efficient.”

A client’s family member recently told us “we want Sharon as much as possible! She is proactive and will do things even before we have to ask.”

Veron has been a Certified Home Health Aide CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since September 22, 2016. Although, Veron has been with Home Instead for less than a year, she has quickly proven herself to be an outstanding CAREGiver, as well as employee.

Veron has many attributes that make her a wonderful CAREGiver. She shows pride in her job; she displays loyalty and honesty. She has an even temperament and is sincere in her care. She puts clients at ease and handles difficult situations with wisdom and good judgement. Additionally, she is frequently willing to help a client or colleague on short notice.

Her Supervisor RN Judy stated “I have the utmost confidence in Veron when she is caring for one of our clients. She has good instincts and knows when something is not right with the client. She is proactive and reports potential problems to the office before they become issues. She is kind, soft spoken yet has a good sense of humor – everything her clients appreciate about her.”

Client Care Manager Kimberly Lebel describes Veron as “a CAREGiver with a gentle soul and a warm smile. Veron takes charge of a difficult situation while maintaining a calm and positive attitude. Her clients trust her and are happy to have her in their homes and assist them with their needs.”

A client’s son recently said “we would love to have Veron visit our mother everyday!”

Patti has been a Certified Home Health Aide CAREGiver with Home
Instead Senior Care since September 21, 2015. Patti has successfully
served 24 clients to date and provided almost 1000 hours of service.
Patti is a caring, dependable, hardworking and flexible professional
CAREGiver. She is always prepared for her shift, gives the client’s her full attention and tries to anticipate the client’s needs. Therefore, it’s no surprise that when she visits a client for the first time, they want her to return. Patti is not only compassionate with clients but has great compassion for other CAREGivers. She is frequently the person willing to fill-in for a colleague who is sick or has a family emergency on short notice when no one else is available, even if that CAREGiver has an overnight shift.

Client Care Manager Kimberly Lebel describes Patti as “an attentive
CAREGiver who takes the initiative and genuinely enjoys being with
seniors. Patti always has a smile and a positive attitude. She easily gains the client’s trust and respect and frequently receives high praise from clients.”

A client recently said “I didn’t know how wonderful it was to have home care until I met Patti.”

Indra has been a Companion CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since November 20, 2015 and a Certified Home Health Aide since April 17, 2016. Indra has successfully served over 28 clients to date and provided over 1200 hours of service.

Indra is a compassionate, dependable, hardworking and trustworthy
professional. She is always prepared for her shift, gives her client’s her full attention and tries to anticipate her client’s needs. Therefore, it’s no surprise that when she visits a new client, they want her to come back. 

Client Care Manager Kimberly Lebel describes Indra as being proactive and makes sure what needs to get done is done. She is also kind hearted and has limitless patience, even with the most challenging clients. Staffing Coordinator Carol James said that “Indra is meticulous in what she does and how she does it. She currently visits a client that has a history of care issues prior to Indra visiting him. However, Indra has a genuine calming effect and her presence has had such a positive impact on him. His daughter recently told me that Indra is awesome!”

Supervisor RN Judy Fitzgerald said “Indra is a caring, competent
CAREGiver. She is quiet and unassuming yet gets the job done. Each
time I visit one of her client’s, he tells me how much he enjoys having her there.”

Marckenson Andre - CAREGiver of the Month December 2016

Marckenson Andre - CAREGiver of the Month December 2016 Marckenson has been a Certified Home Health Aide with Home Instead Senior Care since December 17, 2015.  He has provided over 500 hours of care, having worked all times of the day, evenings and weekends.

RN Judy Fitzgerald said "Marckenson has such a positive attitude!  He is always looking to learn more.  He is respectful and kind to his clients."   

Staffing Coordinator Carol James describes him as a CAREGiver that has a very distinct and special connection with his clients.  He always has a smile and exuberates a positivity that is contagious.  He is attentive and takes the initiative when it comes his clients' care. 

Recently a client's daughter explained that she first saw Marckenson visiting one of her parents' neighbors and was impressed with his patience and compassion.   She is happy that he now visits her father.

Frank Cardenal - CAREGiver of the Month November 2016

Frank Cardenal - CAREGiver of the Month November 2016 Frank has been a Certified Home Health Aide with Home Instead Senior Care since August 7, 2014.  He has provided over 3500 hours of care, having worked all times of the day, overnights and weekends.

Frank is an outstanding CAREGiver and employee. His reliability, dependability and flexibility are exemplary. He always has a positive attitude and is well prepared for his shifts.   He is also known for his excellent culinary skills!

RN Judy Fitzgerald described Frank as "a professional that shows good judgement in difficult situations.  He is excellent with Alzheimer and other dementia clients, demonstrating great patience and compassion."  

Staffing Coordinator Carol James said "Frank has shown much tenacity in being able to still the ups and downs of a challenging client. He demonstrates a distinct leadership quality.  He is always willing to lend a helping hand on very short notice.  Frank exemplifies the attributes of an extraordinary CAREGiver."

Recently a client's daughter said that her parents trust and depend on Frank.   "He makes them happy."

Recently, a client said that she felt a special bond with Peggy.  She is a good listener and provided comfort and support during an emotional time.

Cindy has been a Certified Home Health Aide with Home Instead Senior Care since September 2, 2014.  She has provided over 2500 hours of care, having worked all times of the day, overnights and weekends.

Cindy is an outstanding CAREGiver and employee. Her reliability, dependability and professionalism are exemplary. She always has a positive attitude and is well prepared for her shifts. She works well with her CARE team as well as the office staff.

RN Judy Fitzgerald described Cindy as “an asset and one of the CAREGivers in demand.  Any client she visits want her to stay and asks for her by name.  That alone says a lot. “  She added that Cindy is a “cheerful, energetic, vibrant and overall outstanding CAREGiver.”

Staffing Coordinator Carol James said “Cindy is a CAREGiver who is full of warmth and compassion.  She reflects this to her many clients.   She also exhibits patience with tasks that can be challenging.”  Cindy is very much loved by her clients who often say they “wish there were more people like Cindy.”

Cindy is always friendly, upbeat and has a smile. She understands how important it is to have a good relationship with her clients and their family members built on trust. One client’s family member recently wrote us that Cindy is an “excellent caretaker who really cares about her clients.”  She is “very upbeat and pleasant.”

Annie Bennett-Norwood - CAREGiver of the Year 2016 and CAREGiver of the Month August 2016

Annie joined Home Instead Senior Care in March of 2013 and was promoted to a Home Health Aide in September of 2013 and a Level II Home Health Aide in October 2016.  She has provided over 5500 hours of care to more than 25 clients.

Annie has been selected as CAREGiver of the Month 3 times.  She was a Volunteer Gift Wrapper for Be a Santa to a Senior, helped raise money for the Walk to Cure Alzheimer's by participating in the Quarter's Auction the last 2 years and was on the Home Instead Team for the Walk to Cure Alzheimer's for 2016. 

Annie is known by her clients for her compassion, attentiveness and excellent meal preparation.  Staffing Coordinator Carol James said "Annie displays a positive attitude to everyone with whom she comes in contact and is innovative when coming up with solutions at the last minute."  RN Judy Fitzgerald said "Annie puts her heart in her work." 

A client that Annie has been visiting for several years recently said "she is a special person and all of my family thinks so, too!"

Edith has proven herself as a valuable team member and exemplary CAREGiver. She has been instrumental in improving her client's physical, mental and emotional health.  Edith is an intelligent, conscientious, professional CAREGiver who is committed to her clients' well-being and genuinely desires to make a difference in her clients' lives.

Staffing Coordinator Carol James described Edith as "someone who solidifies the traits of a CAREGiver: warm, compassionate, energetic and enthusiastic.   She has been with a client who has had noticeable positive changes since she has been with her.  Keep up the good work!".  Client Care Manager Kimberly Lebel added that "Edith is always cheerful and has a positive attitude."​

A client's son recently wrote us, "I know my mom likes Edith very much, which she often tells me."

Zenia is a kind, cheerful and a conscientious CAREGiver with a perfect heart to serve our elderly.  She has a contagious smile that her clients look forward to seeing.   She is professional, dependable,  flexible and has a calm and peaceful demeanor which puts her clients at ease, even in difficult situations.  She helps clients any of time of the day, night and weekends.  

Staffing Coordinator Carol James described Zenia as "compassionate and diligent, showing so much empathy to her client who was in the last stage of her life.  Zenia never complains and always has a smile."  Client Care Manager Kimberly Lebel added that "Zenia has a can do attitude, ensuring that her clients have what they need, when they need it."

One of her client's daughters recently wrote us that she  "enjoyed talking with Zenia…, she is very sweet and helpful."

Lisa started with Home Instead Senior Care on October 5, 2015 as Certified Home Health Aide / CAREGiver.  Although Lisa has only been with Home Instead for less than a year, she has quickly proven herself as a valuable team member and exemplary CAREGiver.   She has already provided excellent home care to a dozen clients, some of them requiring complicated care.

Supervisor RN Judy Fitzgerald said "Lisa has a positive attitude. I introduced her to a client recently and was impressed.  Lisa was friendly and confident.  The client took to her immediately." Staffing Coordinator Carol James described Lisa as "the epitome of flexible.  She is frequently willing to change her schedule to accommodate the needs of the client."  Client Care Manager Kimberly Lebel added that "Lisa has genuine concern for her clients and their well-being". 

One of her client family members told us "my mother looks forward to seeing Lisa.  When Lisa is here, I have peace of mind to do whatever I need to do without worrying about my mother."

Although Sharon has been with Home Instead for less than a year, it didn't take long for us to see that she was going to make a genuine difference in the lives of our clients.  Sharon has excellent relationships with her clients but because she is a Veteran herself, she has connected and bonded in a special way with our Veteran clients.  

Client Care Manager Kimberly Lebel described Sharon as "a reliable CAREGiver who always shows good judgment and communicates frequently with the office.  Sharon is calm and professional in all situations."  Sharon's compassion, positive attitude and attention to detail is appreciated by her clients and their family members.  She is always prepared for her shifts.  

Sharon receives ongoing praise from her clients and their family members.  One of her clients told us that "Sharon always has a beautiful smile.  She makes me feel like she is happy to be with me.  She makes me her feel safe and less afraid when I'm being transferred."

Linda has been a Companion CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since February 12, 2015 and a Certified Home Health Aide since May 9, 2015.  

Linda is a respectful, conscientious, trustworthy, compassionate professional. She is always prepared for her shift, gives her client's her full attention and tries to anticipate her client's needs. It's no surprise that when she visits a new client, they want her to come back and ask for her by name.

​A client's family member said "Linda is cheerful, upbeat and positive and she is a good listener." She has a special way of caring for seniors and they love being with her.

Susan has been a Companion/Home Helper CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since November 2012. This is not her first time being selected as CAREGiver of the Month and we're sure it won't be her last!

Her clients enjoy her sense of humor, energy, generosity, optimism and compassion. Her Supervisor Jessie Thomas describes Susan as a CAREGiver "with a very spunky personality and contagious laugh." Her kind heart and limitless patience are just a few of the attributes that make her the perfect CAREGiver to work with seniors who have memory impairments."

Susan is a dependable and responsible CAREGiver who keeps her clients active and is always looking for ways to keep them engaged.  One of her client's family members told us "we appreciate having someone like Susan visit. My mother-in-law didn't even realize how lonely she was until Susan started spending time with her and taking her out." Susan truly makes a difference in her life.

Shonnon has been a Certified Home Health Aide with Home Instead Senior Care since June 2015.   Although she hasn't been with Home Instead Senior Care very long, she has quickly proven herself  a valuable team member with multiple clients.

Client Care Manager Jessie Thomas described Shonnon as "highly intelligent and quickly learns about new clients and how best to care for them.   We frequently receive compliments and high praise from her clients and family members.   She has a sweet, trustworthy and caring demeanor."  Staffing Coordinator Carol James said "I wish I could clone her.  She goes above and beyond for her clients.  Her clients love her!" 

One of her client's family member said that "Shonnon goes the extra mile" for her mother.  She can leave her mother with Shonnon without any worries.  She knows Shonnon will handle any situation no matter what.  Since Shonnon has been with her mother, she is less anxious and sleeps much better at night.

Merino has been a Certified Home Health Aide with Home Instead Senior Care since December 2014.   Client Care Manager Jessie Thomas describes Merino as "one of those CAREGivers who have a contagious smile.   He genuinely enjoys being a CAREGiver and caring for seniors."

Merino is upbeat, funny, conscientious, dependable and compassionate.  He communicates frequently with the office, works well with others and hasn't called out of a shift in the year he has worked with us.   Owner Patricia Strickland said "whenever I do a Quality Assurance visit and Merino is there, I always find him prepared for his shift and happy to be with his client."

One of our clients told us that​ Merino makes him and his wife laugh and he takes good care of them.  He is always there when they need him, especially in the middle of the night.

Valetta has been a Companion/Home Helper with Home Instead Senior Care since November 2010 and a Certified Home Health Aide since September 2012.  It's not surprising that it's not the first time Valetta has been recognized as CAREGiver of the Month and we are sure it will not be the last.

Client Care Manager Jess​ie Thomas said "Valetta has many attributes that make her a wonderful CAREGiver.  She shows pride in her job; she displays loyalty and honesty.  She has an even temperament and is sincere in her care.  She puts her clients at ease, especially those apprehensive to have service.  She can perform a variety of duties and is able to handle difficult situations with wisdom and good judgment." 

Valetta works well independently as well as part of a team. She has a positive attitude.  Her clients look forward to her visits and to seeing her warm and friendly smile.  One of our client's daughter's recently told us "I love when Valetta is with my father because I know she will make sure everything that needs to be done will get done."

Samantha started with Home Instead Senior Care on December 6, 2012 and became a Certified Home Health Aide on May 8, 2013.  In the years she has been employed with us, she has successfully served almost 20 clients, providing 3000 hours of care, and having worked all times of the day, overnights and weekends. 

Samantha is an exemplary CAREGiver and employee.  She is dependable, flexible, patient, caring, compassionate and an excellent cook.  She is not only compassionate toward her clients but also toward her team members, often filling in for colleague who is sick or has a family emergency. ​

Client Care Manager Jessie Thomas described Samantha as "having the right heart for a CAREGiver".   Owner Patricia Strickland said "Samantha has served some of the most challenging clients but always maintained a positive attitude.  She anticipates her client's needs, takes the initiative and notifies us of concerns but also offers solutions.  She has high client satisfaction ratings and truly makes a difference in the lives of the seniors in our care." 

​Samantha is always kind, upbeat and has a smile for her clients.  Many clients ask for Samantha by name.  One of her clients told us that "Sam has been an angel to me and has made it possible for me to recover from my fall and start enjoying my life again.

In the year she has been employed with us, she has successfully served 8 clients and still visits her 1st client regularly. She has provided almost 2000 hours of care, having worked all times of the day, overnights and weekends.

Cindy is an outstanding CAREGiver and employee. Her reliability, dependability and professionalism are exemplary. She always has a positive attitude and is well prepared for her shifts. She works well with her care team as well as the office staff.

Cindy is always friendly, upbeat and has a smile. She understands how important it is to have a good relationship with her clients and their family members built on trust. Her clients tell us how much they enjoy seeing Cindy and how much she makes them laugh. One client exclaimed "she makes me happy."

Kellyanne Gonzalez - CAREGiver of the Month July 2015

Kellyanne has been a Companion CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since January 23, 2015 and a Certified Home Health Aide since May 9, 2015. Although only with Home Instead Senior Care less than a year, she has proven herself as an extraordinary CAREGiver and exemplary employee. Kellyanne has successfully served 7 clients in less than 8 months for over 1100 hours.

Kellyanne is a conscientious, caring and companionate professional. She is always prepared for her shift, gives her client's her full attention and tries to anticipate her client's needs.

Kellyanne is often requested by name. She understands the importance of a good first impression with a new client and, hence, clients always want her to come back. A client's daughter said her mother "truly enjoys spending time with Kellyanne" and she appreciated how she helped her mother with activities.

Carolyn has been a Companion CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since July 25, 2011 and a Certified Home Health Aide since September 5, 2012.  She was awarded CAREGiver of the Month for August 2011 and May 2012.  Carolyn has successfully served 10 clients for over 5500 hours on day, evening and weekend shifts.

Carolyn is an extraordinary CAREGiver and an outstanding employee.  She has many of the attributes Home Instead Senior Care recognizes in nationally awarded CAREGivers including compassion, integrity, patience and a warm and friendly personality. 

One of Carolyn's clients said she looks forward to seeing Carolyn's smiling face and loves to hear her sing.  She takes the initiative to improve the lives of her clients such as learning to cook a favorite meal, to play a new game or just to do a household chore before someone asks.

Annie has been a Companion CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since March 27, 2013 and a Certified Home Health Aide since September 6, 2013.  She was awarded CAREGiver of the Month in October 2013 and has successfully served 7 clients for over 3000 hours, days, nights and weekends.

Annie's compassion, positive attitude and excellent meal preparation is appreciated by her clients and their family members. She understands the importance of a good first impression, being on-time and having a neat, clean and professional appearance.

Staffing Coordinator Carol James said that "her clients love her!"  Her clients are confident that she will take great care of them and keep them safe.  Her supervisor RN Dana Johnson stated that Annie is a very conscientious employee.   She communicates with the office frequently, looks for opportunities for professional growth and development and strives to be the best CAREGiver she can be for her clients

Andrea has been a Companion CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since August 26, 2013 and a Certified Home Health Aide since September 6, 2013.  

Her Supervisor RN Dana Johnson said "Andrea displays an excellent knowledge base which allows her to earn both her clients' and peers' trust and respect.  She is consistently professional, reliable and dedicated to her long standing client."

Client Care Manager Jessie Thomas describes Andrea as "an outstanding employee, very positive, happy and upbeat."  One of Andrea's clients described her as "calm, caring and made him feel like he could always count on her."

LaToya has been a Companion CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since July 1, 2013 and a Certified Home Health Aide since September 6, 2013.  

Her Supervisor RN Dana Johnson said "LaToya does an outstanding job with her clients, some of who require complicated care. She has developed incredibly since attending the Certified Home Health Aide Training Program almost 2 years ago and has proven herself to be an excellent CAREGiver."

LaToya is a compassionate, dependable and hard-working professional.  She is prepared for her shift and plans activities for her clients.  One of her clients told us "I look forward to LaToya's visits and seeing her big, beautiful smile.  She is always upbeat and gives me plenty of attention.  She is one of my favorite CAREGivers because we always have fun together."

Tessa has been a CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since December 31, 2014.   Even though she hasn't been with us very long, she has quickly impressed us and proved herself as a valuable team member. Her Supervisor Jessie Thomas said  "Tessa is always willing to help a client or another CAREGiver.  She genuinely cares for her clients and makes sure they are happy."

Tessa was recently faced with two medical emergencies with two different clients in the same week.  She remained calm, used her training and good judgment in both difficult situations.   Her client's family as well as her care team at Home Instead Senior Care appreciate her professionalism.  One of her clients described Tessa as "sweet, kind and caring" and added "it felt like I had my daughter with me all day".

She has worked with several challenging clients and has won them over with her warm, caring personality and great cooking. "

Dorrett is a caring, compassionate, conscientious and attentive CAREGiver. One of her clients described Dorrett as "reliable, professional and kind."   The client's spouse added "Dorrett always has a smile for us."

​Jesula has been a Certified Home Health Aide with Home Instead Senior Care since August 7, 2014. Her Supervisor RN Dana Johnson said “Jesula has had several challenging clients but no matter who the client is, she consistently exceeds their expectations and provides the highest quality of care. She is very proactive, upbeat and always finds something to do. She likes to keep busy. She had a client who repeatedly refused to go the hospital but with Jesula's persistence and persuasiveness, she was able to get him there. She probably saved his life."

One of her clients recently told us that "Jesula is so caring and sweet. She is the perfect CAREGiver, especially if you aren't feeling well."

​Sandra has been a Certified Home Health Aide with Home Instead Senior Care since April 17, 2014. Her Supervisor RN Dana Johnson said “Sandra has quickly developed into a well rounded CAREGiver. She has had many assignments with different clients that have given her the opportunity to use a vast majority of her caregiving skills.

Client Care Manager Jessie Thomas added that “Sandra is a CAREGiver you can put with any client” and “a true team player”. Sandra is dedicated, dependable, flexible, hard working and positive. Her clients tell us that she is very intelligent, kind, attentive and has a smile that warms the heart.

​Valetta has been a Companion CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since November 23, 2010 and a Certified Home Health Aide since September 7, 2012. It is not her first time being awarded CAREGiver of the Month and we are certain that it won’t be her last. Valetta was also CAREGiver of the Month for June 2011 and July 2013.

Her Supervisor, RN Dana Johnson, said “Valetta takes pride in her work and always strives to do the best job possible. She is enthusiastic, energetic and no matter what the circumstances, displays a professional and positive attitude to her clients. She knows when to ask questions and when to seek guidance. She has successfully provided care to over 30 clients, including ones that are very difficult to please.

​Sheila has been a Companion CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since February 27, 2014 and a Certified Home Health Aide since April 30, 2014. Sheila has successfully served 9 clients to date.

One client recently told us that “Sheila is such a delight! She is so graceful and reminds me of my wife with her charm.” He also described her as an amazing cook who is a self-starter and takes the initiative. Another client’s daughter told us that “Sheila is one of the most compassionate people I know.”

Her Supervisor, RN Dana Johnson, said “Sheila has impressed me ever since taking the HHA training classes. She is always looking for learning opportunities. She doesn’t hesitate to ask questions. She is able to handle difficult situations with the utmost professionalism. Sheila welcomes new challenges.”

Her Supervisor RN Dana described Eugena as an exemplary employee, “Eugena has boundless positive energy and is loved by all of her clients, even the most difficult to please. She is well prepared and carries a tote bag with all the potentially needed supplies.”

​Ilene has been a Companion/Home Helper CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since October 4, 2013 and a Certified Home Health Aide since April 30, 2014. Ilene has successfully served 10 clients to date.

Operations Manager Jessie Thomas described Ilene as “dependable, flexible, punctual and a conscientious employee. When Ilene has a shift with a client she hasn’t visited before, she always does a dry run to make sure she knows where to go and will not be late.” One of our clients told us that “Ilene is an angel as well as a friend”. The client didn’t have her Christmas decorations available so Ilene surprised her with decorations and they decorated her home for the holidays together.

​Patricia has been a Companion/Home Helper CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since April 21, 2013 and a Certified Home Health Aide since September 6, 2013. She has successfully served over 20 clients at all times of the day, night and week. She has even travelled out of state to help a client return safely to their northern home.

Operations Manager and Supervisor Jessie Thomas described Patricia as a CAREGiver who “always has a positive and cheerful attitude. She gets to know her clients well and is able to get them involved in activities that build self-esteem and improve their quality of life.” Patricia is a true team player and has more than once rearranged her personal schedule, including a doctor’s appointment, in order to help a client who needs extra assistance. She is also an active participate in Home Instead Senior Care Community Outreach events such as the “Quarters Auction” for the Alzheimer’s Walk to Cure Alzheimer’s” and the “Be A Santa To A Senior” program.

She was awarded CAREGiver of the Month in March 2012 and CAREGiver of the Year for 2012. She has successfully served over 20 clients at all times of the day, night and week.

Operations Manager and Companion/Home Helper CAREGiver Supervisor Jessie Thomas described Wendy as a CAREGiver who is “genuinely compassionate and down to earth. Her clients love being around her.” She is flexible, reliable and dependable. She often helps with emergency and difficult to fill shifts. When she leaves her shift, her clients are much happier and in a better mood than when she arrived.”

​Vivian has been a Companion/Home Helper CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since May 17, 2012 and a Certified Home Health Aide since December 12, 2012. She has successfully served many clients at all times of the day, night and week.

Operations Manager and Companion/Home Helper CAREGiver Supervisor Jessie Thomas describes Vivian as “a sweet, caring person who is always positive, upbeat and has a smile. Vivian enjoys doing activities with her clients including walks, cooking and games. Her clients love her.” Vivian understands the importance of seniors having physical and mental stimulation as well as social interaction. Her current client recently told us how much she will miss Vivian while she is on maternity leave and can’t wait until she comes back. She has successfully served almost 20 clients, many of them with special needs such as Alzheimer’s and other dementia.
