  3. Caregiver Support Group for Alzheimer's Families

June 02, 2016

Meets the first Thursday of every month from 5:30-6:30 pm.

3rd Floor Conference Room, Palmerton Hospital

Participation in a support group can be an empowering experience, helping members feel better prepared to cope with their unique situation. Support group members report feeling less alone, more able to confront their daily problems, and more hopeful about their future.

An Alzheimer’s Association support group is a safe place to learn, offer and receive helpful tips, and meet others coping with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia. The atmosphere of an Alzheimer’s Association support group is one of sharing and caring friendship. The environment is a confidential and non-judgmental place to share ideas, frustrations, anger and joy. Members receive positive reinforcement.

No registration is necessary. Attendance is free of charge and anyone seeking support and knowledge of Alzheimer’s and Dementia is welcome to attend.

For more information about the support group, please contact facilitator, Melissa Maaser, Community Liaison for Behavioral Health at Blue Mountain Health System, at 610-826-1294.
