“To care for those who once cared for us is one of the highest honors”. Growing up, I was extremely close to my Grandparents. Most of my favorite childhood memories involve holidays at their house, gardening with them and eating my Grandma’s “famous” Veggie Burgers. Even as a teenager when hanging out with your Grandparents probably wasn’t “cool”, I loved being with them. I remember when my Grandpa started showing signs of dementia. It was devastating. Here was this amazing man who volunteered at church, could fix anything, was the taxi driver for his Grandchildren, and he was needing help. One afternoon while driving him to a doctor’s appointment, I remember him getting tears in his eyes and telling me that he was scared. I held his hand and told him that I would be there for him as he was always there for me. It really is the greatest honor that I get to help care for those who once cared for us. I am blessed to be able to hold hands with the seniors in our area and let them know that I will be there for them.
“Make a dent in the Universe” After 25+ years in the Corporate Hospitality Industry, I’m excited to be a part of something that truly improves the lives of others. Changing careers later in life was a huge decision. I knew I made the right decision when I met my first client and her family and knew that I could make their lives a little easier. They say children learn from example. I was taught that people pray before meals, marriages last, people work hard and you treat others the way you want to be treated. This was taught by my parents and grandparents. I remember driving tractors with my Grandpa Gassman. That gave me a great appreciation for working hard and supplying for your family. I had more time with my Grandpa Brockway. We could talk about cars forever, especially his Olds 49, and he taught me to be inventive in my home repairs. I cherish these memories. It’s my hope that I can help other families create memories like these.
“Treat others with Dignity and Respect”. I’ve always believed in putting others above yourself and working at Home Instead Senior Care allows me to do this every day. I get the privilege of meeting prospective clients and helping them understand that there are options available to help them remain in their home. As Client Care Coordinator, I work closely with the Clients to make sure their needs are being met. Before joining Home Instead Senior Care in 2016, I was a Caregiver for 14 years and understand the importance of the Client-Caregiver relationship. Sometimes a Caregiver is the only person a Client will see and for a little part of each day, a Caregiver can bring great joy to a Client.
We would like to officially announce our first CAREGiver of the Month Award. Help us congratulate Nick as our Caregiver of the Month for February. Nick joined us in March, 2016, and has the honor of being our only male caregiver. Nick has a great relationship with his client and is always willing to pick up extra shifts when the family asks. Mr. Corrado consistently demonstrates the core values of HISC. Congratulations, Nick!
Congratulations to CAREGiver of the Month-Mary. Mary came highly recommended to us in March, 2018. Her calm personality, professionalism and caring heart makes her very popular with our clients. Mary is always willing to work any shift we ask of her, often changing her schedule many times a week. One of her client’s family recently contacted us to say that their stress level has decreased since Mary started staying with their Mom because their Mom is in such a good mood when they come home from work. Mary, you’re awesome!
We are proud to announce Misty as our CAREGiver of the Month for April. Misty is a busy Mom of 3 active boys. When not attending sporting events for her kids, Misty is in Nursing School. Misty joined HISC in June, 2018 and is always willing to pick up last minute shifts, work with any client and receives many compliments because of her sweet, caring nature. Thank you, Misty!!
Essie has been awarded our CAREGiver of the Month award. Essie started working for HISC-Mabank in 2009 after retiring from Texas Instruments. Whenever we have an urgent need for a CAREGiver, Essie always comes to our rescue. She works way more hours than what she requests, often picking up 24 hour shifts and then going to another client’s house after. She’s also our go-to girl when a client needs to go to Dallas. Her client’s love her and have even taken her to Canada to care for them while they travel. Thank you, Essie!
We are proud to announce Robinn M. as our CAREGiver of the Month June. Robinn started Home Instead Senior Care in 2009 and recently started to shorten her hours to spend more time with family. Clients love her kind, calm personality and often request her as their caregiver. Even though she “sorta-retired”, she’s still willing to pick up shifts when we need her. Thank you, Robinn for being an amazing caregiver!!
We are excited to announce Carol as our CAREGIVER of the Month for August. Carol recently returned after major surgery and jumped back into caregiving with both feet. Carol is always willing to help with any shift, any time, any day, any distance, and any client. She has a regular 3-day client and is often filling in the gaps with other clients, even long shifts and overnights. We are proud to have Carol on our team and thank her for being such a wonderful caregiver to our clients.
Nick is a pleasure to work with. He is always positive. He is personable and professional. Being a male caregiver is a big plus for us, since he's able to talk sports etc....
