How is Home Instead Norwood working to keep our clients and our communities safe?

  • In addition to following standard precautions for infection control, on which we routinely train our CAREGivers, we have provided our team with additional guidance and training created by the CDC specific to COVID-19 including hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette principles.
  • CAREGivers have been instructed to wear a mask to all shifts and to keep a safe social distance when doing so does not jeopardize the safety of the client.
  • Each CAREGiver is asked a series of COVID-19 screening questions prior to the start of EVERY shift and in the event they answer yes to any question, they are advised to call the office rather than report to their shift.
  • CAREGivers with symptoms of acute respiratory illness (e.g., cough, shortness of breath) will not be allowed to provide client care until cleared by his or her physician or other medical professional.
  • CAREGivers have been instructed to regularly disinfect all high touch areas such as door knobs, light switches, refrigerator handles, etc., at regular intervals throughout their shift and again at the end of each shift.
  • All CAREGivers are provided with PPE as needed.

How can you help us keep you safe?

  • If you will be having any visitors who traveled out of state or internationally, we request that they “self-quarantine” for 14 days prior to visiting your home.
  • Please limit visitors and have those that do visit “social distance” by 6 feet away if possible. We also request that visitors to the home wear a mask during the visit.
  • Please continue to have hand washing and disinfectant cleaning products on hand so our CAREGivers can keep your environment infection free.
  • In the event you are unable to locate the above-mentioned supplies please let us know. We will do our best to help locate them and arrange for you to purchase them.

While Home Instead Senior Care has implemented these steps to limit your potential exposure to COVID-19, we cannot guarantee that our CAREGivers and employees are not unknowingly carrying or infected with COVID-19. In order to keep all parties as safe as possible, we will continue to follow guidance given by the CDC, the World Health Organization and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
